You thought PEER PRESSURE was a cringe-y, distant thing of the past but it is NOT; in fact, we face it everyday when it comes to parenting. We find ourselves acquiescing to societal norms, all to then feel guilty for going against our moral gut. But take heart friends, we are here to help. Mandy takes the wheel and leads this discussion on peer pressure parenting based upon psychologist Ray Guerendi's book, 'Raising Upright Kids in an Upside Down World'. The ladies also go into deep discussion on the virtue of COURAGE to inspire YOU to conquer this pressure. It may not make you the "good guy" or the "cool mom" but it will certainly help get your children to heaven. We all know our husband's true potential, but does he see it? How can he become his best self? In this episode we go over 2 of the 3 "essential elements" that author J.R. Miller (circa 1800s) says are required to meet the wifely demands. By meeting and excelling at these elements, we can harness the "power" and "influence" we have over our beloveds when we successfully practice these 2 elements. When it comes to raising daughters, we are really trying to raise our ideal selves but there’s a problem… we’re not perfect. So how exactly do we accomplish that when we’re well…a continual work in progress per se? In this episode Mandy & Evita discuss the self reflection this endeavor requires, the types of women who don’t fail, the feminine virtues we inherently have (and lack, let’s be honest) and lastly some EASY and practical tips on how to raise the daughters society needs. GK Chesterton said that our contribution as mothers is much greater than our vote and as Fulton Sheen stated “To a great extent the level of any civilization is the level of its womanhood.” So ladies, get a notebook, jot these points down and let’s level this place up!
As homemakers we have the opportunity to shape our children into the adults we want them to become. As GK Chesterton said, we as mothers have the power to make or break society byway of how we raise our sons. So how exactly should we approach this great responsibility? How do we raise masculine boys to become virtuous and God fearing men, husbands and fathers? In todays episode Mandy & Evita discuss what masculinity is, the ONE thing that impedes boys from becoming men, the virtues we must cultivate in them, and as always PRACTICAL tips on how you can do this at home with your little ones TODAY. Think…how to raise a Midwest boy even if you live in the city! With laughs and wisdom this is an episode you simply cannot miss, society may very well depend on it!
Suffering can be a major stumbling block when it comes to faith. Often it is asked that if God were so loving and merciful, why does it even exist? Seeing pain and suffering in this light is opposite of what God intends. In this week’s episode Mandy & Evita discuss the two ways to approach pain & suffering. Rebellion and resignation are the two main avenues and Mandy & Evita guide you along the paths to both: our rebellious nature that leads to the pitfalls of despair and denial and the redemptive and hopeful aspects of resignation to God’s will. Also discussed are 5 practical steps on how to embrace suffering and make the most of your cross. Our prayers are with you, and we hope you enjoy the show!

It’s 2024 and we are back! Our first episode of the year and it is a game changer friends. As wives, mothers and homemakers we often occupy our minds with ideas, events, projects or questions that we just feel the need to answer. As Aristotle states “our nature is to know.” Whether it be seasonally driven or just our human nature, CURIOSITY can lead us to places that may not be serving our family and ultimately hurting our home life. While the pursuit of knowledge is good, the intent behind the desire is what ultimately deems it a VICE or a VIRTUE. In this episode Evita and Mandy discuss the difference between curiosity and studiousness according to Thomas Aquinas, the TWO virtues we must practice in order to ensure our pursuit is rightly ordered, AND lastly the BEAUTY and EASE that simplicity can bring to our lives and our home. We address anxiety, trust, surrender, simplicity versus minimalism and the birds of the air! Packed with insights, practical tips and good laughs you don’t want to miss this one! Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Mandy goes through practical ways (as described in the book "The Willpower Advantage: Building Habits for Lasting Happiness") to develop a more grateful outlook in your everyday life.
