Howdy! Welcome to or back to the Be positive podcast with your host, me, Amber Schulz or @amberunz on instagram. Today I will be talking about a topic that weighs heavy on my heart as it is something I have had so many ups and downs with my entire life. Today's podcast topic is how the pressure to perform affects athletes' mental health. In this episode we will be having a special guest that many of you are probably familiar with, and that is my best friend Carly Mcnatt who is not just a phenomenal athlete but one of the strongest people I have ever met. Me and Carly have been through a lot together and I think that this podcast will be very insightful to all athletes at any stage in their career.
My goal for this podcast is to help anyone out there that is struggling with mental health and the pressure to perform as an athlete. Almost all athletes struggle with some form of mental health issue or injury at some point in their career. Me and Carly are going to talk about our stories and what we have learned along the way. So let's get into this episode:)
In this episode I discuss some of the key things that helped me get my period back and my story. I am not a doctor by ANY MEANS but i hope that me sharing my experience can help anyone out there who is struggling 💜 key points
-time, patience, consistency
-eat more consistently throughout day
-add larger serving of foods your already eating
-increase fats (nut butter, butter, eggs, yogurt, avocado, nuts, seeds etc)
-allow body rest/ decrease training
-reach out to professional:))
howdy!! welcome to my first ever podcast. In this episode, I discussed where I am on my crazy journey of life, and how I have changed over the past couple of years. I also talked about my past experiences with an eating disorder, identity crisis, and even some of my current struggles. my goal with this podcast is to share that it’s OK to not really know where you are or what you’re doing in life. Being a mess can be fun sometimes and is a part of the journey. I have mentally been a little all over the place recently and I’m just happy to share my experiences with y’all and hope that I can help at least one person that might be a little like me💜💜
