Ep. 012 of the DOTR Podcast features Laura Thompson ✨ Laura is an all-around bada**. She’s an Electrical Systems Design Engineer at Harley-Davidson, as you know it. She just moved from the Harley-home-state of Milwaukee to the Phoenix facility a year ago but when she was in Milwaukee she also dedicated time to mentor young high-school girls in the Iron Angels team of the BUILD Moto team, where they literally build a motorcycle together and race it. Now while living on the West Coast, she’s garnered a new-found love for road racing and rides everything from Ducati’s to Pan-Ams. Her husband had a hand in the Harley-Davidson King of the Baggers series, so naturally, the household has a strong love for all things fast. Take a deep-dive into the world of Laura as she takes us back in time to where the journey with motorcycling began (hint: the mecca of motorcyling) and what experiences has led her to where she is today! 🔋This episode was powered by Red Rock Harley-Davidson! Ep. 011 features Sheri Goldstrom ✨ Sheri is our very first guest that is more into classic cars and trucks than motorcycles. Our intention for this show was to highlight women in motorsports in GENERAL, and with the podcast growth we have been able to expand those connections into different spaces.. Like with our guest Sheri Goldstrom. Sheri is the heart of management and operations of all things Nostalgia Street Rods, a local Las Vegas gem that houses a speed shop, several properties, and over 30,000+ square feet of a hot rod museum. While her parents certainly fostered the passion for preserving history in cars and collectibles, Sheri has her own story about how she developed a love for trucks. At about 5 feet tall, Sheri learned how to drive semi-trucks and worked in demolition hauling scraps with her trucks. Most recently, Sheri dived into the world of race car driving. Two years ago, she decided to give the Nostalgia Street Rod Outlaw Factory Stock series a try. In the series she has already accumulated a win at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, received the 2022 Sportsmanship Award, and ended up 4th in points for the 2023 season. Sheri, is such a force to be reckoned with and we’re so excited to have crossed paths with her and be able to share this story! 🔋This episode was powered by Red Rock Harley-Davidson! Today was a little bit last minute, but honestly, we already knew we’d have this woman on the show from the inception. Nerissa Cerny is truly a role model for girls and women alike from motorcycles to her career in STEM. She’s a Harley-Davidson Engineer that has been monumental in designing many of the motorcycles we see on show-room floors today, from cooling systems on Softails to engine calibrations that keep our engines safely chugging along. Beyond her 9-5, she is a mentor on a team that empowers girls in highschool to engage in STEM activities - but they literally build a motorcycle together and race it! Nerissa is constantly putting miles on motorcycles and she’s one of the few people I know that won’t refuse an adventure, she’ll just make it work in her life.  We’re so lucky to have her join in on the Daughters of the Road podcast to give us insight into her world and her mind.   Follow Daughters of the Road:   Instagram: @daughtersoftheroad   TikTok: @daughtersoftheroad   Facebook: Daughters of the Road   This episode was fueled by Red Rock Harley-Davidson in Las Vegas, NV - stop by and mention Daughters of the Road when shopping for your new bike!  Instagram: @redrockharley
