Those core beliefs, believe it or not, drive so much of your content marketing.●      When we understand our strengths, then that's when content creation is going to be far easier as well.●      It's about understanding your boundaries and connecting with them to create a business where you can do what you want—serve the people you want to serve.Resources:Mel's book: The Power of Content: https://www.amazon.com.au/Power-Content-framework-achieve-confidence/dp/0648618005?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=ANEGB3WVEVKZBConnect with Mel Daniels:Website:
In this episode, Jeanette Woods, a UX professional, design strategist, and CEO of Sketch and Form joins me to discuss human-centered and inclusive design principles. We discuss the importance of cultivating deep empathy for the people we design for, involving the community in the design process, and ensuring accessibility and functionality for all users. Jeanette shares insights on her proprietary framework, "Socially Conscious UX Design," and the design thinking process. We also explore the impact of AI on design, tackle challenges as a woman in a male-dominated industry and provide tips for aspiring designers and business owners looking to hire designers.Timestamps:[02:06] What drew Jeanette to design and start her own business[03:58] Principles of a human-centered design[06:58] Strategies for businesses to work with design elements holistically[10:56] Benefits of gathering diverse perspectives in the design thinking process[15:32] Advice for small businesses to implement design thinking[18:20] The impact of AI on design[22:19] How small business owners can incorporate inclusive design principles[27:43] Resources for promoting inclusivity in business operations[30:12] Challenges as a woman in a male-dominated industry[32:51] Tips for aspiring designers and hiring designers[36:16] How to find and connect with JeanetteQuotes:●     Human-centered design is about cultivating deep empathy for the people you're designing for. You do that through research or different ways of addressing design work in general.●     We need to be able to serve the people and communities we're building these experiences for by connecting with them. We can't leave that corner because it will get us on the back end.●     AI is essentially fed by algorithms that are fed by us, right? So, whatever we see going on in society will reflect in AI. It's just picking up on our behaviors collectively. ●     Inclusive design is the approach of approaching things in an accessible way that is as accessible as possible for as many users and as understandable as possible for as many people as possible.●     We need more people in this space that are more focused on community. We have moved into a very quantitative reductionist way of looking at things, which is also driven by a patriarchal approach.●     It's okay to occupy multiple lanes, but I think understanding what most resonates with you is important. You can start doing that by getting information online.Resources:Connect with Jeanette on:LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/jeanetteguardiolaCompany Website: www.sketchandform.com  Additional ResourcesNielsen Norman Group: https://www.nngroup.com/p...
Welcome to another episode where Scott Gabdullin, a Canadian entrepreneur and founder of Authority Factors, joins me. Today, Scott shares his valuable insights into effective search marketing strategies tailored for small businesses. With his diverse experience spanning computer engineering to entrepreneurship, Scott shares insights into brand building, leveraging paid advertising platforms like Google Ads and social media, optimizing content creation for better rankings, and addressing the impact of AI-generated content on SEO. He also provides practical advice on lead generation tactics, closing leads effectively, and competing against industry giants as a small business. Scott emphasizes the importance of patience, adaptability, and a customer-centric approach for long-term business success in the changing digital landscape.Join the conversation now and learn from the best!Timestamps:[00:54] Scott's background and journey into entrepreneurship[05:06] Strategies for building brand awareness for small businesses[08:58] Recommended budget for small businesses to start running Google Ads[10:24] Approach to social media advertising[13:44] Strategies for ranking on the first page of Google[17:47] Structuring landing pages for conversion[22:10] Insights on AI-generated content and its impact on SEO[28:13] Strategies for small businesses to compete with larger competitors[32:33] Approaches to lead generation and closing leads[37:21] Top business and SEO insights[39:07] Where to find more information about Scott GabdullinQuotes:●      Overnight success is like ten years in the making. It was a lot of sweat equity put into it. We had to go through a lot of tears and pain, but it led us on the path to where we are now, living our lives the way we want.●      Anyone can be an entrepreneur, and if you've done engineering and you go and become an entrepreneur in engineering, you're probably going to save time. I went from engineering to entrepreneurship, had nothing to do with engineering, and that took a long time.●      My recommendation to everyone is to start with paid advertising. You'll start getting phone calls right on day one, and it takes 24-48 hours for ads to kick in. ●      If I were to make a recommendation to marketing agencies, experiment with AI, which we do. We always experiment on our websites. ●      We don't do much paid advertising on TikTok or LinkedIn. It wasn't the niche issues we would be into, but Facebook and Instagram have been around long enough, and everyone has experience with them. I would say Facebook and Instagram are great to advertise.●      If I were to advise a business owner, I would say, you have got to fix your sales. It's a problem. You are the problem. So, you need to hire someone, and if they're not willing to go past that point and admit that to be a problem, then there's nothing you can do as a marketer. Or a service provider.Resources:Connect with Scott on:LinkedIn:

Unlock the secrets to achieving clarity in your business vision and aligning your company's structure, culture, and processes with that vision. In this episode, seasoned business consultant and coach Bridgette Moody shares her invaluable insights and proven strategies for transitioning from corporate life to entrepreneurial success. From her decades of experience, Bridgette reveals the transformative power of the "Four C's" Clarity, Confidence, Communication, and Collaboration, in crafting a compelling vision that attracts investors, partners, and top talent. She also provides a sneak peek into her upcoming Pen2Paper tour, where she'll be teaching her game-changing S3 (Structure, Strategy, Systems) model to aspiring and existing business owners across the country. Timestamps:[01:10] Bridgette's transition from corporate to entrepreneurship[05:06] How Bridgette helps people get clarity on their business vision[09:22] Importance of showing and telling the "how"[12:41] Aligning business structure and culture with the vision[14:20] Benefits of the 5-T strategy model[17:43] Creating a company culture aligned with the vision[22:21] Importance of processes and procedures[26:17] The Importance of having a clear and well-defined vision for success[27:34] The "Pen2Paper" tour and the S3 model[29:20] The necessity of understanding one's vision and the underlying purpose[34:37] Bridgette's advice for business vision and clarityQuotes:●      It's important to be clear and understand your lane because I tried to do things to make money, but someone else was in my lane.●      You can't see it until you see it. Getting your vision on paper gives you a tangible connection to it.●      If you don't establish a culture for what you do, be it as a solopreneur or a small business with clients and employees; people will bring their own because they're going to do what they know to do and not what you have documented or structured for them to do.●      So, clarity is key. We've been talking about it the entire time. Time clarity is very important until you get clear about your vision.●      You can't maintain someone else's vision but can maintain your own.●      If we are clear, we have confidence, clarity of vision, and clarity of where we're supposed to be, which helps us to be confident about it. And so, when you're confident about what you're supposed to be doing, the lane you're supposed to be in, it helps you improve.●      Once we have confidence, we can communicate better. People may not believe this, but it helps us collaborate better because people can see themselves in your vision.●      When you're clear about your vision, your confidence builds. It does something to your confidence when you are clear about your vision.Resources:Connect with Bridgette Moody:Website:

You often need money, but there are ways to start your PR journey on a budget.●      PR is a process that takes time. If you're unwilling to invest at least six months into your PR efforts, you are not ready for a PR agency.●      You have to start from somewhere. The smaller opportunities will then equate to bigger opportunities.●      If you don't have stories of your consumers, your community, or your own story that you want to tell, PR is not necessarily for you.●      If you don't want to tell your own story, which is perfectly fine, you're telling the story of your consumers. We teach you the tools. ●      In business, you think like a CEO but communicate like a third grader. If a third grader can understand what you're saying, you don't have to worry about whether adults can understand.●      You have to show on these social media streets that this is what you do, in spite of being a business owner. I speak on whatever topic is in your industry or profession, right? You have to let people see that because just because you have learned the art of speaking doesn't mean people will reach out to you.●      Whether you're in the networking event arena, keep unlocking opportunities. You don't know what person or persons has your key, but if you're not communicating or networking, you'll never receive the key to unlock that door.●      Networking will open more doors than any degree ever will.
