The last few weeks i have been feeling incredibly off balance and like total shit until very recently, and slowly feeling in tune with me again, so i got into that. I have been reading a book "A Man and His Symbols" by Carl Jung because i have been interested in the connection between the subconcious and dreams, and how i can connect my dots. My week without social media and how i was losing my mind before that, getting to the edge and being able to balance out, my stand up comedy getting better since not having any distractions, the danger of not allowing yourself to be open to love and things that can hurt you when chasing a dream. Being alone, the future, the idea of having children. Allowing my insane side & my sensitive/soft side to be seen through different mediums, and hoping people can see that we are all screwed up and that's ok.
This week I sat down with buddy Riley Flanagan, who is a comedian and really great friend, and one half of Bowl Cut Comedy here in NYC. He has made very big step in his life to get sober, so we jumped right out of the gate with that. What made him join AA, the process and comradery of being part of that community, addiction and the trap within excess, my new experiment of being off social media, the reason we both have an issue with saying goodbye to people and things, Coldplay being the greatest, relationships/heartbreak, loving yourself before loving others, people pleasing and comedy, doing what you want on stage, and the biggest question of all...Are you happy? Danny Hallinan is stand up comedian, good friend of mine, and a fellow New Yorker. He was born and raised in The Bronx. So he and i go off from there, talking about different parts of New York City, his style of comedy and how i relate to it because we were raised in different areas but essentially the same way. We got into a pizza debate and where to get a really good slice, NYC pizza vs Chicago pizza, growing up with religion & faith, competitive nature in comedy and how to challenge yourself without comparison, treating comedy like sports. The difference between the work ethic of a New Yorker & an out of towner. Going out to party in uptown Manhattan, growing up in this crazy city, NYC politics, his family visiting their home country Cuba, the next mayor, the death of the English language, and plenty more about comedy & NYC.  Instagram: @dannyhallinan https://www.instagram.com/dannyhallinan?igsh=ZHIwMXBhMjNpbWFk
I wasn't feeling all there this week, so I did a solo one. I feel like this episode has two halves, two vibes really. First half I got into people exiting your life, the feeling of pain in your heart either pushing you or breaking you, the magic spark in all of us,  seeing the darkness in order to see the light, thinking positively and not losing steam and momentum, and every great plot (our lives) needs conflict in order to be dynamic. The suicide numbers this year alone. Ozzy Osbourne's death and legacy, and lastly seeing Brian Holtzman on stage which fueled a giant rant to keep pushing the things that I think are funny by any means necessary and the people who are bothered should take a long look in the mirror (I got heated.) The second half I touched upon a lot of random current events and gave some opinions on these stories. The articles were how Giraffes mate, flesh eating maggots, a woman sending 65,000 texts to a man and got arrested, the man who got sucked into an MRI machine and died, Lena Dunham being fat, and the CEO of astronomer getting caught cheating.

# 16 - The Proud Girls

2025-07-1501:41:43

This is by far the most chaotic, fun, sick, twisted podcast to date. I had my very good friends/comics Joe Gerbo, Eli Maroney & Cam Bird. Now known as The Proud Girls. This is just a bunch of dumb guys having a great time. We started with precum issues, skid marked underwear, Cam's morning routine, favorite sex position, how we lost our virginity, how to wash your rear end,  back injuries, working out, what would you do if a snake bit you, the Epstein list, the mafia, are farmers markets BS, Woodstock '99, socialisim, the Jews, how to start a revolution in the USA, sacrificing everything to come to NYC and follow a dream, and so much more insanity, peppered with insightful moments. @mojoesodope @eli.maroney @cambirday
I just got back from my trip in Chicago, so of course I laid out some of the differences between Chicago and New York. Mentioned how my trip helped me cope with my dog passing away right before i left, The fact that we have become shallow as a generation. The strangeness of being happy and sad at the same time, being an adult, the loss of privacy in my life, the hope of helping someone, the inspiration of another person, and how being vulnerable with someone i met recently has been frightening but ultimately beneficial for my creativity.
Another solo podcast. I spent most of this episode talking about ChatGPT, AI and the overall human expience, how it cannot be replicated, the use of psychedelics, the intelligence of plant life, my obsession with trees, and where i think we are headed as a species. I did also I touch upon some things that have been happening in the news, like what has been going on in the middle east and stories about teachers having relationships with students.
