In this episode we are joined by Eran Amir, father of two and creator of GoStork. Eran always knew he wanted to be a father, and as a gay man, knew he needed to look into surrogacy as an option. At age 40, he knew his biological clock was ticking and decided he didn’t want to wait for a partner to begin his journey. So he started the overwhelming process of researching surrogacy agencies, IVF clinics, egg donor clinics and so much more. Even though he found his now husband in the middle of the process, he still felt overwhelmed navigating through all of that information. After his first daughter was born, he used his background in software development and product management to create GoStork - a free online platform that connects intended parents to a database of fertility providers. This way he is giving people the option to be informed and compare their options without being overwhelmed with information. Join us this week Eran tells us about his journey and how he found a solution to the overwhelm of fertility information and options. Her advocacy extends far beyond the clinic walls—she is the only therapist ever invited to testify before the New York State Senate Judiciary Committee in support of legalizing compensated surrogacy.
In our conversation, Lisa shares what patients really need emotionally when navigating donor conception, surrogacy, and assisted reproduction—and why informed consent, transparency, and support are non-negotiable.
