Reverse
It can be difficult to revisit something we have been unsuccessful doing. There can be any number of reasons for the past failure, however, the only thing that matters this time is that God has called you to it. So despite what has happened in the past, if God is calling you to do it, understand that with Him this time will be different. This time you overcome, this time you succeed, this time you win!
We serve a God who is above time and on top of time and for us, He can even "reverse time", that is make it like you didn't miss the time. Because of that we need to trust Him and take Him at His Word. If He calls you to it you can do it and if you haven't done it yet you can still do it. Put your trust in God and move as He commands.
Great insight and application on allowing God to operate in time to get us on time with Him. Also great thoughts on moving with God when we don't feel like we ready.
In this episode Pastor Jacob adds insight to what it means to serve and "On Time" God who owns time. Such great insight and information on why we should trust that God is in control and is working in time for our benefit because He in "On Time".
What do you when it is time but you not ready. Well you have to really trust the word and direction you got from God. We have to remember that when it is time, rarely are we going to "feel" ready, regardless of how ready we think we are. We also have to realize that whatever God is calling us to will be beyond our ability. This is why it is so important to stay in faith and move on what God said as oppose to what we feel. When we do, we can access His great ability on our behalf to accomplish all He has called us to.
Our timing and God's timing is often out of synch. But we have to be honest, God is not wrong. This is where we have to work hard to trust God and give it time to happen. What do you do while you waiting? You trust, you develop and you obey. Doing so will prepare us for when the time comes.
As Christians, we have to learn that our concept of time is not the same as God's concept of time. God is over time, above time, in charge of time because He created time. His Idea of time is seasonal, overarching and all encompassing. Our idea of time is linear or Chronological. Our task is to get "On Time" with God so that we can walk in and receive all the things He has ordained for us in time.
Honestly, sometimes it hurts and it hurts bad. The question for Christians is how do we maneuver through those times. The truth is, we have never been guaranteed a life of ease or a life free from disappointment or distress. As a matter of fact Jesus explains that in this world there will be trying and difficult times. He also says to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. He is telling us that we can rest assured knowing that He has overcome and will bring all things to a positive end for us no matter how it looks right now. So what is our response. Well, in a word...Worship. The more we learn to worship through what we are going through the stronger we get, the closer we get to Jesus and the better we are able to navigate what is going on. So no matter what it is or how bad it seems, worship through it all.
God proclaimed that it is not good for man to be alone. This indicates that as great as it is to have God, and we must, God also created us human and intentionally created us to have needs that would have to be met by other humans. We are not meant to be alone. And we are not meant to handle things alone or only by spiritual means. The Spirit should lead us to a better human existence including rest, relaxation and therapy. Rely on God?...yes. Put your trust in Jesus for salvation?...yes. Realize you are human and that you will also have to rely on God, trust Jesus and learn to take care of your "humanness" through therapeutic means that God has allowed?...yes. So let's explore the full range of godly means to grow and be the best we can be. Jesus...and therapy. Not just counseling but rest, relaxation, restoration and revitalization in all acceptable forms.
Obstacles are inevitable, and they are often used by God to strengthen us and draw us closer to Him. Sometimes those obstacles include loss, disappointment and in some cases disaster. And on top of that, it often requires that we recover and rebuild. And if we are going to have to do so, lets do it better, bigger, stronger than ever before. The blessing of it all is that we have God as our source, as our guide, as our protector and as our companion every step of the way.
There is healing for your soul. It is with God through Jesus Christ who loves us so much that He took on our pain and sorrow to set us free. Our task is to move through the hurt to get to Jesus. With Him there is healing for what is hurting. What is so great about God is that He will absolutely meet us where we are. He displayed and proved that by sending Jesus Christ to come and rescue us. Whatever you are in and wherever you find yourself, look around and there you will find Jesus to sit with you, to heal you and to deliver you.
It has been said that our triggers are our responsibility. And that is true though it may sound harsh on the surface. It is really important that we understand that it is not others responsibility to be aware of and to tip toe around our triggers. That is not to say that you don't have a true and legit reason to feel how you feel and frankly to be triggered. It is to say that our triggers should not grow to become an excuse or reason why we sit and stay in a particular place. Ultimately, we have to decide that we will not allow our past hurts and traumas to keep us from moving forward. Part of that is recognizing our triggers and making a decision to go to God and get the treatment we need so we continue to move forward in all that God has for us.
Some of us have some really good excuses. And those excuses can in our minds justify our behavior and activity. Join in as Lady J gives some really good insight on how move forward despite what could be holding you back, even your good excuses.
Excuses can be tricky, because some of them are really good and make a lot of sense. And those excuses can be used to justify certain behaviors. However, just because we have a good excuse doesn't mean we should use it. As a matter of fact, often times the better the excuse, the more we use it to justify our failure to grow and go where God has called us. Let's face it, we all have excuses, some of us really good ones. But the truth is, if we use the excuse we can inadvertently prevent ourselves from finding a way to overcome and excel. It is not to say that you don't have a good excuse, but it is to say that you shouldn't let it stop you.
We often times have a tough time accepting responsibility for our own mishaps and misbehavior, we certainly don't want to be responsible when it is not our fault. However, sometimes being a healthy functioning adult means that is exactly what we have to do. We have to be more focused on moving forward toward God and the things He has called us to rather than staying stagnant waiting for someone to get what is due them. Lady J gives some great insight and info on how we can take responsibility for our own growth and forward progress keeping our eyes on Jesus.
One of the toughest things we often times have to do in life is to pick ourselves up when someone else knocks us down. I mean, it's not my fault why should I have to do it. Well the simple answer is because the other person doesn't care to do it. But a more real and honest answer is, because it is your responsibility. Not your fault, but your responsibility. And I know that may not seem fair, but you would rather have unfair and be up, than stay down waiting for what is fair. Many times in life things will be unfair, but we can't wait for fair before we decide to trust God and move forward with our lives. It may not be our fault, and often it won't be, but it is still our responsibility to move forward in and toward all that God has called us to do. When we sit frustrated seeking revenge, retribution or even just sitting sulking we are missing valuable time to be improving and moving forward in God and with our lives. So, accept responsibility, not for what someone else did, but for what you can do to move forward as directed by God.
Overcoming pain and trauma requires a willingness to go to God and allow Him to lead us to people, places and things that will help us. Church? yes, Devotion? yes, Fasting? yes, but also therapy and counseling. On this episode we explore some therapeutic measures to help us overcome pain and trauma.
Overcoming pain and trauma starts with a connection with and to God. The more we are able to stay in constant connection and communication with Him, the more we are able to overcome and move forward. This may seem trivial until we realize the the communication doesn't have to always be cordial. We can be frustrated and upset and uneasy and in distress. This helps us get out of us that which is irritating and hindering us. God is not upset by our honesty in prayer. He prefers it. It also allows us to realize just how helpful God has been and how much He has kept us. And that leads to a gratitude that aids us in overcoming.
Life can sometimes catch us off guard and throw things at us that are tough and difficult to deal with. If we are honest, sometimes it is due to our own disobedience. Truth be told, difficulty and obstacles are not a matter of if, but when. Further, being a Christian doesn't exempt us from trouble but guarantees it. So what do we do. Well, we trust God and His Word. We understand that we will be brought through. But not just brought through for survival, but to thrive. This series will speak directly to that thriving and how to do it. We don't just come out...and we don't just come out victorious: We come out in such a way that our victory is so grand and so sustained and so elevating that we don't even appear to be who or what we were when we went through. That is the point and purpose for the pain, the hurt, the heartache, that we are stronger and strong enough to handle the elevation that God has intended for us. We don't just survive it, we thrive after it and because of it. We don't look like, what we been through...we, look more like God.
Knowing more and more about God and about Jesus gives us tremendous confidence and trust in Him and His Word. It allows us to move forward when we can't see our way clear. But it is our knowledge of who He is and a better understanding even of ourselves that allows us to trust Him and move forward by and in faith.
