I can go rip all the panels off the house, and they wouldn't even know they're missing. They would just switch right back over to the grid. And unless they hid up there and looked at them, they would have no idea they were even gone.(00:12:38) Systems are what sets you free. If you want your time back, you better systemize the heck out of something.(00:21:35) That is your operations guy. That is your key to success. And most of them were honest and most of them there was nothing wrong with the leads. The problem was that people were missing all the other components.(00:43:27) Everything that you need to know is already free on YouTube. Just go get it and just go get it. In this episode, we have a fascinating conversation between Peter Roth, CEO of Solar Wise and Virtual Virtuosa, and Jacob Jones, a solar sales professional. They delve into the challenges and opportunities in the solar industry, with a particular focus on the importance of addressing HVAC issues in homes. Join us as we explore how these insights can help solar professionals generate leads, improve energy efficiency, and achieve long-term success.Addressing HVAC Issues: The Key to Saving Money on Solar PanelsOne of the key issues discussed in this episode is the significance of homeowners operating on old HVAC systems that have lost efficiency. Peter and Jacob suggest that if homeowners were aware of the inefficiency of their HVAC systems, they could save money on solar panels. According to studies, approximately 56% of a home's energy use is attributed to heating and cooling. By addressing HVAC issues and improving energy efficiency, homeowners can reduce their overall energy consumption, making solar panel installation more cost-effective.The Urgency of HVAC Issues: Avoiding Emergency SituationsPeter and Jacob emphasize the urgency of addressing HVAC issues in homes. Waiting until the system breaks down can lead to emergency situations, especially during extreme weather conditions. Jacob shares his personal experience of receiving calls from elderly individuals with broken AC units in the scorching summer heat. This highlights the importance of proactive maintenance and timely HVAC system upgrades to ensure the comfort and safety of homeowners. The Virtual Sales Aspect of the Solar Industry: Challenges and StrategiesAs the solar industry evolves, virtual sales have become increasingly important. Jacob describes his experience transitioning from in-person to virtual sales and acknowledges the challenges that come with it. He finds virtual solar sales to be the hardest thing he has ever done. However, he emphasizes the importance of developing systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for long-term success. The Power of Effective Communication and Scripting in SalesPeter and Jacob discuss the power of effective communication and the use of scripts in sales. Peter emphasizes the importance of scripting and having an operation manual for the words that come out of your mouth in sales. He compares it to how Fortune 500 companies have operations manuals for every task, highlighting the significance of not winging it every day. By scripting successful responses and objections, sales professionals can create a blueprint for future interactions, leading to improved sales outcomes. The Art of Persuasion and the Importance of Communication SkillsThroughout the conversation, the importance of effective communication skills is emphasized. Peter mentions that sales is a powerful profession that relies on effective communication, rather than formal education. He encourages sales professionals to understand how people want to be persuaded and help them get there. The art of persuasion is not about manipulation but about building relationships and understanding the needs of potential customers. Conclusion:In this episode, Peter Roth and Jacob Jones share valuable insights into the solar industry, specifically addressing the importance of addressing HVAC issues in homes. They highlight the urgency of HVAC maintenance and upgrades, the challenges of virtual sales, and the power of effective communication and scripting in sales. By implementing these strategies, solar professionals can generate leads, improve energy efficiency, and achieve long-term success. Remember, success in the solar industry is not about reinventing the wheel but about learning from others and developing systems t
Starting a business in the solar industry can be a challenging endeavor. With the right resources and leadership in place, however, it can be a successful venture. In this podcast episode, Jacob Jones and William Geist discuss the process of transitioning from one leader to another and how to remain competitive in a down market. They also explain the importance of focusing on sales when launching a business and introduce Inversify, a platform created by Jacob Jones to standardize the solar sales process. Furthermore, they explore EPC relationships and how to make the most of the solar industry. To gain further insight into these topics, interested parties can join Solar Business Growth on August 23rd in Dallas, which will provide training on energy efficiency and more.Episode Outline:(00:00:01) Reducing Energy Costs(00:06:23) Leadership Transition(00:11:58) Diversifying in a Down Market(00:17:50) Standardizing Solar Sales(00:23:47) EPC Relationships(00:29:38) Focus on Sales(00:35:27) Solar Business GrowthQuotes:(00:01:51) We're talking hundreds of dollars a year, maybe $400, $600 a year in savings per home, depending on where they are geographically in their systems and things like that.(00:09:28) But I've gotten to the point not long ago, where it's just not possible anymore. And if the company is going to continue growing and I'm going to keep providing the opportunity and the value that I do, then I'm going to have to start building a team.(00:17:25) I think there's two important things. One is to diversify and make sure that you're going about things in a more holistic manner. For example, I tell my solar partners, you've got the solar, have the efficiency, have a few other things that you're really into. Not that you're just throwing sort of into the deal at random, but things that you're really focused on, because when(00:23:31) So I'm trying to empower these guys to be able to do that. And then the other side of it is I'm going to work on Inversify to sort of standardize the solar sale process and make it transparent such that if I'm on the EPC side.(00:28:52) Don't just sell them solar and then we never talk to them again. This is a consumer. We can sell them all kinds of cool stuff over time and so we're going to have a program that sort of does that. And so now solar becomes a residual income opportunity.(00:34:46) Focus on sales. And while it seems so simple, one of the things that I see entrepreneurs make the mistakes all the time is they are blinded by all the fancy lights, right? That, hey, I could spend my money on this, I could get this, I could get this. And all those things probably do have great value, but their problem is they try to do them all on the front end and then suffer because of it.(00:38:44) Take that time to invest in the people around you. It's the best thing that you can do.Social Post:Are you looking for ways to save money and energy? Look no further! He also shared his experience of having a 50/50 success rate when it comes to vetting people and his belief that people from rural communities are used to tough times and can be a good fit for a company.William Geist is rebuilding the sales network for Madison Energy and is working on three major projects for Madison Energy over the next 12-18 months. He is also hosting an event in Dallas on August 23, which will provide speakers from Texas Solar and other people, as well as a poker game and a pool in the backyard. When it comes to vetting potential partners and employees, Jacob Jones believes that it is important to look beyond their resumes and determine if they are a good fit for the company. He believes that people from rural communities are used to tough times and can be a good fit for a company. Good leaders should demonstrate that they are willing to go first and eat last, and they should model the behavior they expect from their team. When people know that their leader is supporting them, they will show up for them.Jacob also believes that the current economic conditions are not likely to change for at least the next two years. Jacob Jones learned on Wall Street that you can make money in any market by changing your positioning to match the environment. How do we nurture ourselves in those really dark moments? Because they come for all of us, and they tend to come in waves. And it's not there to break us. It's there to teach us how resilient we are as human beings and the power of faith and belief.(00:36:42) What I've come to know is that the word has power.(00:43:24) But one of the things that he talks about in building rapport, that deepest part of rapport is this intimacy when it's like the(00:44:49) We are created as sexual beings. Don't miss out on this fascinating conversation! #GreenLightTheory #SexualEnergy #CreativePotentialBlog Post:Adversity can be a difficult thing to grapple with, but it can also be a powerful source of inspiration and motivation. This is something that Jacob Jones and Nikki Fielding, two successful entrepreneurs, know all too well. In their inspiring conversation on the podcast, they discuss the importance of empathy in leadership, alternate business models, and the power of energy exchange. Nikki also provides practical tips on how to get started with meditation, and they both emphasize the importance of vocalizing and expressing emotions. Nikki shares her story of overcoming childhood sexual abuse, a traumatic accident, and a range of seemingly unrelated major health issues, while Jacob talks about his struggles with depression, anxiety, and complex PTSD. Nikki faced a lot of adversity from a young age, including the death of friends and family, childhood sexual abuse, and gun violence. She started her entrepreneurial spirit at six years old, going door to door in her neighborhood to offer babysitting and pet care services. She saved up $1,000 by the time she was nine years old, which she used to buy a pony. Nikki faced adversity in high school due to society's broken views on sexuality. At 19, Nikki had a traumatic accident that left her in a wheelchair for a year and required multiple surgeries. Six weeks before the accident, Nikki's mother was almost killed and was in a medically induced coma.Empathy is something that came naturally to some people, while others need to develop it and build upon it. Finding people who naturally embody empathic leadership is important for decision making processes. Corporate structures often don't consider how their decisions will be received by their audience. People have limited capacity to hold things, so it's important to lead with empathy when delivering hard messages. Hierarchical corporate structures create division and don't serve anyone. Alternate business models, such as holographic business models, can level the playing field. People are motivated by money, but it's important to consider other factors when making decisions. Younger generations are calling out the lack of creativity and inclusion in corporate structures. It's important to recognize that team members may have contributed to ideas and work products. Removing the structure of reporting can help people feel valued in the workplace.Jacob and Nikki also had a conversation about tapping into sexual energy without sexual contact. Nikki explains that sexual energy is our life force energy and it doesn't have to be a sexual act. Nikki talks about the mother wound and father wound, which can show up as distrust of the feminine for men and people pleasing for women. Nikki explains that sexual trauma is an emotional response to a stimulus and can be caused by distorted collective views of sexuality. Nikki's goal is to free up people's creative energy and help them access their full creative potential. Nikki talks about how the pandemic has shifted the way people need to think and be creative. Nikki talks about how the world is broken around sexuality and how porn addiction shifts the brain. Nikki explains that reclaiming sexual energy is about restoring the blueprint of divine love and doing the work internally. Nikki uses tantric de-armoring practices with her in person clients.Jacob and Nikki also had a conversation about the healing power of vocalizing and expressing emotions. Nikki explains that many people have issues with their Psoas, hip flexor, and low back pain due to trauma stored in that area. Nikki suggests vocalizing and breathing while pressing into the area to help release the trauma. Nikki talks about how shame can block people from expressing their authentic truth and stories. Nikki shares a story of a woman who was unable to vocalize "I am worthy" until after a session. Jacob and Nikki discuss how trauma affects workplace dynamics and how business leaders can create a safe space for their team. Jacob and Nikki emphasize the importance of having hard conversations with empathy and understanding. This episode of the podcast is sure to leave listeners feeling inspired and motivated to take action. It's important to remember that, while adversity can be difficult to overcome, it can also be a powerful source of inspiration and motivation. With empathy, alternate business models, and vocalizing and expressing emotions, you can use adversity to fuel your success.Resources:Connect with Jacob JonesLinkedInConnect with Nikki FieldingWebsiteOther MaterialsThese materials help you promote your podcast. In this episode of the podcast, Jacob Jones and Jason Menchen discussed the importance of recruiting and scaling a business. Jason shared his experience of taking an underperforming sales team and turning it into a juggernaut in a short period of time, and Jacob shared his experience of traveling across the country to sell office supplies for straight commission. They discussed the importance of understanding people, having a good bedside manner, having a vision and values for a business, and having practical and tactical knowledge when starting a business. They also discussed the importance of taking the things they have learned and putting them to work, loading up one bullet and letting it fly, and saturating the knowledge by passing it on to others.Episode Outline:(00:52:01) Green Light Cruising(00:29:05) Social Intelligence in Hiring(00:17:02) Recruiting Sales Talent(00:00:00) Recruiting Jedi(00:22:49) Recruiting Traits(00:35:10) Recruiting Without Resumes(00:11:16) Ed Vegas Mentorship(00:05:21) Adapting Recruiting Strategies(00:46:38) Building a Business(00:40:40) Recruiting EmotionallyQuotes:(00:50:16) Give me the rebels, the outcasts, the wild horses, and watch what I do with them.(00:40:34) Let me tell you something. I was hoping I could get a door to a sales job for a straight commission. Nobody dreams about that. But what they do dream about is finding someone who can mentor them to make them better.(00:43:46) Do you not realize that because you can attract candidates in a different manner, you can dare to be different because you don't have all that red tape.(00:52:08) Take that one bullet, load it in and let it fly. And then always saturate.(00:27:46) It's easier to focus, as you were saying, on the negatives and dwell on them. And I can't do this. I can build someone's confidence if they're willing to talk about how many times they fail.(00:01:24) I have always been attracted to sales and communicating with other people, and I've always been attracted to leadership leading from the front, behind, middle, anywhere I could. Those were things that just drove me.(00:09:14) The beautiful thing where we were allowed to do things that a lot of companies just aren't, or people that are in those hiring seats is to talk to the people that didn't have the experience and then figure out, man, can I work with them? Do they fit this culture? Do they have something intangible? Because I can train all the skills.(00:19:26) People want to buy, but they don't want to be sold, right? So they're always looking for what is this person not telling me while they're telling me?(00:16:47) What I love about Ed is that he's just genuine, always giving, and people always say, man, they just wanted to come to work with Ed because it was great to be around.Social Post:Are you looking for a podcast that will help you develop your social intelligence, work ethic, and integrity? If so, you're in luck! Jacob Jones had to make quick decisions in a new environment with different people, homes, business practices, and licenses. On the first night out in Arizona, the car he was driving was totaled in an accident. His mentor's response to the accident was "Welcome to management." Jacob found success in sales by wearing the colors of the local football team and talking about the team. He learned that the best way to recruit people is to learn about them and build a relationship before talking about the job. Jason Menchen has an impressive track record of recruiting success. He grew Cidcore's sales team from a handful of reps to 40 plus sales reps. He grew Varango Solar's sales team from zero to 100 plus sales reps in under six months. He also grew Solar max's sales team from zero to 40 reps in four months. He also launched a recruiting company at Sunrun with the largest canvas program in the solar industry, 500 plus guys in 20 plus states.Jacob and Jason believe that the transfer of enthusiasm from one person to another is key in sales. People don't want to be sold; they want to buy. They suggest starting interviews by asking about the person's life, accomplishments, and goals. Training a new canvasser requires reflecting on their successes to get them ready. People need enough information to make an educated decision if the job is right for them. People need to feel like the job, leader, and organization is the right fit for them.Jacob Jones is looking for people with social intelligence, a good work ethic, and the ability to make eye contact. He is looking for people who can explain why they left previous jobs and what life changes happened. He is looking for people who can explain what they can bring to the organization and how they can help it reach its goals. He is looking for people who can show that they have the attitude and willingness to learn, even if they don't have the skills. He suggests that people should not work for him if they don't feel like they could get a beer with him after a long day. Jacob and Jason suggest taking one bullet and using it to its fullest potential. They encourage passing it on to others to help them on their way up. They suggest skipping the red lights in life and cruising through green light after green light. They thank the listeners for tuning into the episode and encourage them to subscribe and leave a review. Recruiting and scaling a business is no easy task, but with the right advice and data-driven insights, it can be a rewarding experience. Beginning with the captivating detail that Jacob Jones and Jon Mossey discussed the importance of taking action and having the right habits in place in order to achieve one's goals, this podcast episode explored the power of having an internal locus of control and how to cultivate confidence and success through behaviors, habits, communication, physical fitness, and ownership. Additionally, they discussed an upcoming event in Tampa Bay, Indomitable Events.com, which is for young and middle-aged entrepreneurs and professionals looking to take their mindset to the next level. Jacob and Jon also discussed the importance of making an impact and helping people, the power of authenticity in leadership, and Jacob's experience of helping a family in need. Finally, they discussed the six pillars of confidence, the importance of setting goals in the right way, and the power of taking ownership of one's life.Episode Outline:(00:05:57) Mindset Training(00:11:51) Empowering Others(00:17:43) Authentic Leadership(00:48:05) Take Imperfect Action(00:30:51) Developing Confidence(00:24:16) Building Confidence(00:00:01) Reactive vs Proactive(00:36:08) Confidence Building(00:41:35) Internal Locus of ControlQuotes:(00:17:25) And so trying to keep that up and keep up that facade is exhausting. And so, once you acknowledge that you do need help, it's a very powerful thing. And people appreciate that because it brings a level of authenticity for you. People can trust you because you're not acting like someone that's all perfect. They understand that you bleed, too,(00:48:11) Take action. The last chapter of my book, fuck Someday, is titled time to Take imperfect Action. So if it's something that you've been thinking about doing, something that you feel would be fulfilling, something that's part of your purpose, get started on it today and you're going to make mistakes. But imperfect action is going to trump the perfect, best late plan in your head any day of the week.(00:28:00) Confidence is credibility with yourself. And so setting your goals the right way so that they're moderately challenging, so that you're moving the needle but not making them too challenging to the point where you're falling short and feeling like you fail all the time, it's finding that moderate middle ground. It's extremely important in terms of how you set things up.(00:04:06) It's better to be a warrior in the garden than a gardener in the war.(00:20:36) And so to be able to understand the mental processes behind that, that's going to give you more control. That's tools that you can have regardless of what avenue in life whether you're going to be a psychologist or, like I said, a businessman or a personal trainer or a firefighter, I mean, there's psychology in everything that you can use to help yourself and to help other people.(00:36:36) It's the behaviors and the habits that you have to do and just consistently enough and like I said, with confidence. You do these things day in and day out. You feel you have credibility with yourself and confidence, just like interest is going to compound and you start to see, if I did this, maybe I can do this and it just snowballs.(00:10:00) My argument for that is that it's just the opposite. Not giving other people the best version of yourself. That's the selfish part.(00:42:52) But by looking at it and saying, hey, what could I have done differently in vetting that partner, in making these decisions and doing these things, that's the only way I could affect change for us.(00:33:26) But if we think to ourselves like, okay, well, if someone is treating me that way, is that a happy person? And then we realize the whole idea that hurts people, hurts people. And then you go from a point of being angry and upset and wanting to wish for that person to be hit by a bus to having empathy for that person.Blog Post:It's no secret that having the right habits in place is essential to achieving your goals. We all know that it's important to take action and to have an internal locus of control, but how do you actually cultivate the confidence and success you desire? Jacob Jones and Jon Mossey recently discussed this topic on the Green Light Theory podcast, and they explored the power of behaviors, habits, communication, physical fitness, and ownership.Jacob and Jon discussed an upcoming event in Tampa Bay, Indomitable Events.com, which is for young and middle-aged entrepreneurs and professionals looking to take their mindset to the next level. The conversation then shifted to Jacob's experience of helping a family in need. Trey, the person heading up the project, told Jacob that he couldn't buy a table for the family because it would not teach a lesson and he was not there to be the savior. Trey gave Jacob a book called When Helping Hurts to help him understand the situation better. Jacob and the family's fourth grader, along with his two brothers, mowed lawns to earn money to build a table for the family. Jacob noticed the family's eyes light up and the boys beaming with pride when they saw the table they had built. Jacob realized that his good intentions were actually bad in this scenario, and he needed to shift his paradigm.John then discussed his six pillars of confidence which are goal setting, self-talk, habits and behaviors, communication skills, physical fitness, and ownership. He emphasized the importance of setting goals in the right way and making sure to have victories built into each day. Self-talk is the internal narrative and attitude that one has about themselves, the world, and the future. John also discussed the importance of making an impact and helping people, the power of authenticity in leadership, and the power of taking ownership of one's life.Jacob encourages listeners to take action and not delay on something that lights them up. His book is titled "Fuck Someday" and the last chapter is titled "Time to Take Imperfect Action". Jacob emphasizes that taking imperfect action is better than having the perfect plan in your head. He encourages listeners to take the things he discussed and put them to work, learn them, and immerse themselves in them. He encourages listeners to share what they learn with others. Jacob encourages listeners to find the green lights in life and skip the red lights. There is no magic solution to achieving success and confidence; it requires hard work and consistent effort. Communication skills are important for setting boundaries and protecting one's time and interests. Physical fitness is important for developing discipline and confidence, as well as for demonstrating to others that one is capable of taking care of themselves. Taking ownership of one's life is essential for understanding cause and effect relationships and for realizing that one is an agent of change. Luck is not a factor in success; it is up to the individual to take control of their life and outcomes.Jacob Jones and Jon Mossey have provided invaluable advice and insights on the power of having an internal locus of control and how to cultivate confidence and success through behaviors, habits, communication, physical fitness, and ownership. By taking action and implementing the pillars of confidence, you can take ownership of your life and create the success you desire.Resources:Connect with Jacob JonesLinkedInConnect with Jon MosseyInstagramWebsiteIndomitable MindOther MaterialsThese materials help you promote your podcast. That's why I'm here. That's why you and I connected.(00:46:19) Nothing goes when we go, so make sure you pass it on to somebody else. Because together we can skip those red lights in life and cruise through green light after green light after green light.(00:40:40) What if two-year-olds were our wisdom teachers? I think that would be great. Honestly.(00:12:23) And I just started getting up on microphones and doing it in really messy and in really uncomfortable ways where people would be like, what are you doing? And some people are like, wow, you're really good. Some people are not listening at all and not noticing.(00:03:20) I began being the creator of my life.(00:37:24) Men in today's society are shut down from [intuition]. Shut down. So not your fault if you're lacking empathy. If you've ever been called a narcissist and you're questioning where your empathy is, congratulations that you have empathy that you want to grow. During the podcast, Earl shares his top tips on staying positive even when you're faced with constant rejection. Tip 1: Shift your perspective - Earl believes that when it comes to negativity and rejection, you really have to get good at flipping the script in your mind. One of the things that he learned when he first started out in solar was that every "no" is closer to a "yes". "Getting 'no's' by saying every no is closer to a yes, just makes that situation a little bit more positive and makes you want to actually go out there and do it just because you shifted the perspective," says Earl. Tip 2: Positive in, Positive out – Earl attributes his success to constant self-improvement and listening to positive messages, books, and podcasts. He believes in the mantra “positive in, positive out”. “So if I'm gonna listen to music, it's uplifting music. If I'm gonna listen to a podcast, it's gonna be about sales. It's gonna be about positivity and how to rewire my subconscious so that I can better take rejection,” says Earl. Tip 3: Find happiness in the simplest things - Earl's journey started in Hawaii, where he grew up surrounded by drugs, crime, and domestic violence. His past experiences have taught him that finding joy in the smallest things can make a big impact. Earl believes that when you find happiness in the simplest moments of life, you're able to cultivate an attitude of gratitude, which translates into a positive mindset. If you're looking to boost your sales game and learn how to stay positive even when the going gets tough, then this is an episode that you don't want to miss. Earl's story is one of resilience and hope. Despite growing up in a challenging environment, he didn't let his circumstances define him. Instead, he chose to focus on gratitude and finding joy in the simplest things in life. One of Earl's biggest influences was his grandmother, who taught him how to cultivate a spirit of gratitude. Just don't make the same mistakes. You make that mistake, learn from it, extract the lessons, be better because of it.[00:03:00] If you can take 1 little sentence, yeah, and spend a month in it and just continue to unpack truth and wisdom out of that, I said, man, that's something he's got that I don't have.[00:03:59] You know, relationships are the new currency.[00:11:54] But I knew there was a purpose. And the crazy part is I can rewind back to my teenage years, I couldn't tell you what that purpose was. But I knew there was a purpose. Like, that was undeniable.[00:06:22] There's no loss in life. There are only lessons to be learned.[00:06:37] My relationship with red lights are actually I believe the obstacles are the way.[00:05:37] I do believe that all of the red lights in our lives ultimately serve us for a greater good.[00:02:51] This guy had literally been in 1 verse of scripture for almost a month.[00:09:02] We can look at these obstacles and these obstructions in life, and we can look at them as shortcomings, we can look at them as pitfalls, or we can look at them as opportunities for us to learn, grow, evolve, and become the individual that we're intended to be.[00:08:56] Everything in your life is meant to serve you. It's meant for your betterment. It's meant for your good[00:01:58] You better take somebody to lunch, meaning reach out before someone eats yours. And that principle is huge.[00:13:58] I love to speak to the future version of them. And, you know, along those, you know, and what I mean by that, I guess, to unpack a little bit is I yeah. I've got a core value. This is very simple. You know, it's to meet people where they're at. But love them enough not to leave them there.[00:04:41] That's establishing a green light in your life were like other people might throw up a red light or a roadblock to prevent them from actually having the opportunity to receive of that value to get that growth to endure in that race of of endurance, you know, and ultimately to glean the value that is there through the conversations you have, through the relationships that you build, through the time that you spend with 1 another[00:00:25] This man is on a mission to deliver the maximum amount of value in every single interaction no matter the circumstance.[00:07:20] I don't avoid the red lights. I look for the red lights, and I embrace the red lights every step of the way[00:04:03] Every time that you set up a situation where you're able to build a connection and build that relationship because you've stepped out of your comfort zone and you've had that conversation and you're willing to introduce yourself and to build that connection, to build that relationship, you've established a green light for your own life[00:03:55] The beauty in that is, yeah, is like, man. Alright. So, yeah, God walked me through that portion in my life, And I couldn't have told you at that time, but that, you know, purpose was, man, he was preparing me for something later on[Unknown] Your earnestness and your willingness to step out of your comfort zone and reach out to people that you wanna connect with. It's a long list.[00:27:40] Following through is probably the thing I'm seeing most. I mean, people are promising things they can't deliver on.[00:26:06] You promised us to be able to do this, and you can't do it, and this and that.[00:38:26] Essentially, you know, the product itself is an incredible pain relief where it decreases the time it takes for a bruise to heal by almost.[00:40:24] You hit singles; you get on basic score runs. That's how you build.[00:23:05] I don't wanna have to fight people's egos and then fight the actual battle. It's just not worth my time.[00:51:39] As a leader, it's not their job Right? To understand. It is your job to communicate in a way that you're understood.[00:39:44] I am no longer captivated or spellbound by potential big deals.[00:45:51] It benefits a business to bring on a veteran. You know, they work hard, they show up on time, they're accountable, they're honorable, you know.[00:18:14] It's really, you know, more or less just a temporary COO, if you will, and it's not meant to replace anybody.[00:47:55] Number 1 is clarity. Most of the time, people have a rough idea of what they should be doing, but they have a variety of ways they're doing it depending on how they feel that day.[00:31:28] It's a system, right, that you're implementing for them.[00:00:44] Tom's not only yeah. Not just any business consultant. He's a fractional CMO and COO, which means he knows how to prepare businesses to scale and overcome their biggest obstacles.[00:23:30] I think there's a lot of people that just say that, oh, I'm gonna automate everything and everybody's candidate and this and that. No. Everybody's not.[00:42:06] I wasn't no way prepared. I mean, I was still getting out of my car, freaking out that I forgot my weapon or something. Like, I wasn't ready.[00:32:01] You have to have the ability to repeat the success that you've had.[00:13:45] I always hear you have just from, you know, different veterans, how it's such a struggle for them. What advice would you give them to make that transition easier?[00:38:34] 50 percent as far as ailments that it relieves, you've got sciatica, neuropathy, a lot of folks who have just like bad joints Creecker joints, stiff joints, a lot of people get pains in their feet at night, like some of the older older customers.[00:13:08] I had to adapt a different style and you had a great mentor to kind of ushered ushered you along that path.[00:35:08] The product itself was supposed to be simple. So it was supposed to go against the grain.[00:36:09] DMSO has the highest cellular permeability on the planet in layman's terms to get through the skin better than anything else.[00:55:39] It's almost like wasted time when you focus externally. Hey, I can blame all these things. When you're done blaming them, at the end of the day, it didn't change.[00:05:34] Ultimately, you don't really know how to put it other than what I've already said. It's just a, you know, it's a thing that you have to overcome before you will be allowed to sort of I don't know, graduate, honestly.[00:51:17] You're actually not being very clear here. You're assuming they know some stuff, but everybody started the adage, you know, to assume is to make an ass out of you and me.[00:32:15] You know, bit of success, but to sustain that's a different story. So that's kind of what our approach is.[00:21:38] If you provide value to them in that respect, then over time, that resistance goes away.[00:30:38] Every step of that process is actually a sub process.[00:53:21] I always say, I just don't think I was built that way. Yeah. For me, it was almost natural. Like, it was innate for me to just look and say, hey, whether that was an external thing or not, I could I never viewed it that way because I knew I couldn't control that.[00:14:47] Find yourself a mentor, get in a group, get it figured out, and get to work before you start making a bunch of bad habits.[00:46:28] And then, you know, for me, I went out and barded and did dumb stuff and spent a bunch of money and didn't have anything to show for it. Right? And it's just some guidance.[00:50:43] Number 1, a good leader communicates effectively. And it's important to note the effective part.[00:43:04] The real end goal is to create mentors that can then mentee those now coming out. It's a pay it forward sort of arrangement.[00:00:27] He's a man with a mission to help businesses grow and scale, and he's been doing it, doing it, and doing it well for over 15 years.[00:49:16] A lot of those business owners don't really know what's going on. They just know that they trust this person and money's getting deposited.[Unknown] The Marine Corps is very good at taking the values that were kind of imparted upon you and bringing those to the surface because, you know, at the end of the day, strong core values tend to be relatively similar in nature.[Unknown] So so we ended up in a mastermind, and it was my first time, you know, showing up to the, you know, this quarterly meetup.[01:00:12] Understand that you have the opportunity to design the life that you want. And the only thing standing in the way of you accomplishing that is you.[00:26:12] More often than not, upon discovering what it was that they wanted to do, that person had no idea what they were doing.[00:56:20] I've gotta look at that and say, hey, as the business owner, how can I minimize that? So that it doesn't happen in the future.[00:12:17] They can't be ripped off or paper core values. Hey, there's these that they're actually being lived out.[00:45:20] If you're gonna do anything, take out a business loan and get to work, and then don't spend the money.[01:01:04] Make sure that along the way, their good choices and make sure along the way that that you don't get so discouraged. If you're getting too discouraged, then you're either doing the wrong things or you're on the wrong people.[00:55:01] You've got to be there for your people when it matters. That's the simplicity of it.[00:07:08] I call it training, doctrine, and discipline.[00:22:58] But if what you had in mind was working, I wouldn't be here.[00:08:42] If the training isn't in place, then you can't blame the employee. If the doctrine isn't in place, you can't blame the employee. But if the behavior is the employee's problem, you've eliminated the first 2.[00:54:36] It takes less time to own it and fix it than it does to create this false, you know, witch hunt of let's figure out all this stuff. Just dive on the grenade. Get it over with.[Unknown] Mine's not in there. Since it's missing sarcasm. Yeah. I think I found why we connect and Got it. Got it.[00:36:34] I put it on her, like, on her knuckles up here. And 5 minutes later, maybe not even that long, I'm talking to whoever and I look over, she's going like this shaking her fist at me. And I'm like, what did I do? And she was like, I been able to make it fist in 5 years.[00:15:55] I do feel that, you know, I'm showing compassion and being vulnerable with people is a really important step in establishing a relationship.[00:30:31] Let's not go for status quo.[00:45:13] Come up with a plan, work that plan, get a mentor to look it over.[Unknown] Just because you're in charge doesn't mean you need to blame everybody else for everything just because you're the center of it all.[00:48:48] But that's the important part is you've gotta get in the mindset of pretty much making SOP out of everything. Like, the more SOPs you have, the more control of your trajectory you have.[00:52:00] Because that's the only way you can affect change. That if you don't own your communication, there's gonna be miscommunication everywhere.[00:27:54] I'm usually about half of what people are charging, and that's not because you're getting half the quality. It's because it's not that hard.[00:58:53] I've also had an ebb and flow with that too since, you know, I got out and I used that and I realized that it didn't really serve me or anyone that well.
