Works have started to deploy the EU's Entry/Exit system across Schengen Borders. In Spain. The Government says it is reported the Spanish authorities will not apply the EES at the Gibraltar Spain border. It adds the intention – in line with treaty negotiations – is to not have EES applied at the border now or at any point in the future. A midterm poll, conducted by GBC with Mediatel, suggests a significant swing - in voting intentions - to the GSD, but it’s still all to play for ahead of the next election due to the many who don’t know how they’d vote. At the midway point in the electoral cycle, we asked over 1,000 respondents about their voting intentions in face-to-face interviews over nine days earlier this month. The Chief Minister says work on the treaty text is happening on a daily basis, with the Attorney General in Brussels yesterday. Fabian Picardo told GBC that following the negotiations and the agreement, he now has more time to focus on other things. He spoke to our News Editor Christine Vasquez.A milestone moment for the EV Foundation - one of its bursary students has officially graduated, marking the first-ever graduate from the charity’s education support programme. Founder of the charity, Nicole Jones, told us they aim to break generational cycles through opportunity and empowerment rather than simple financial aid. ‘Let's Talk about It’: There’s a new element in Gibraltar's 5 year Mental Health Strategy. Gibraltar is now part of an Anti-Stigma Capacity Building Programme, which focuses on building capacity and providing support to people with lived experiences to tackle mental health stigma. To mark World Mental Health Day tomorrow, Childline Gibraltar, in collaboration with GHA’s Young Minds, will open its helplines for 12 hours; the first time doing so in its 19-year history. Childline’s CEO Caroline Carter was in the studio together with GHA Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Ashim Bettadapura.Dyslexia Awareness Week is in full flow - with events across Gibraltar highlighting understanding, inclusion, and support for those with dyslexia. Sabrina Mauro and Mandy Gaggero told us about what's happening and how the community can get involved.The MBS Centre is hosting a free workshop for those living with Parkinson's disease this Saturday. It will be led by Lori Tillman, who will focus on a holistic approach to managing symptoms. Lori shared what inspired her to create this workshop for people with Parkinson’s.And at the Gibraltar Photographic Society’s second Special Exhibition to commemorate its 60th Anniversary, Prem Mahtani won the prestigious accolade: photographer of the year. The show brings together local talent in a creative showdown, judged by Deepak Ramchandan, Jayden Fa and Silva Moreno. A new map of every street and alleyway of Gibraltar’s Upper Town has been meticulously put together by author and creative Rebecca Calderon, who has transformed hand-drawn notes into an illustrated work.We looked ahead to tomorrow’s live football. The Deputy Chief Minister has told the UK Conservatives that Gibraltar’s place in the British family of nations is “unshakeable and unbreakable”. Joseph Garcia was addressing delegates at the Gibraltar Government reception at the Conservative Party conference in Manchester.Today marks the start of Dyslexia Awareness Week, and this year’s theme - “Raising the Volume” - is all about encouraging people with dyslexia to share their stories and experiences, and to help others understand how it affects their everyday lives. Paul Gache and Liam Worth told us what it’s like for them to live with dyslexia.It was a busy weekend of big competitions happening on the Rock: our Sports Reporter Jose Mari Ruiz shared all of the results from the annual GASA endurance swim, the Gibraltar Triathlon, the UEC Mountain Bike Eliminator European Championships, and futsal’s Luisito Bonavia Cup.The Gibraltar Mental Welfare Society is marking World Mental Health Day with a public talk this Wednesday. Applications are now open for the Kusuma Trust Professional Development Award - an annual initiative supporting those who want to further their professional training but may not have access to other funding. Gibraltar’s Public Services Ombudsman has renewed calls for legislative reform to strengthen her office’s ability to protect the most vulnerable in society. In her first Annual Report since taking up the post, Wendy Cumming has urged the government to grant her office “own-motion” powers - the ability to launch investigations without waiting for a formal complaint. She explained further in the studio.The Supported Needs and Disability Office has teamed up with the Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Service to raise awareness about Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans, known as PEEPs. These plans are tailored to help people with disabilities or medical conditions evacuate safely in the event of an emergency. We spoke to Supported Needs and Disability Manager, Jenny Victory, as well as Leading Firefighter, Dwayne Trinidad.A writer for television and computer games is on the Rock to research for his next project. Dr. Liam Creighton is also a lecturer at both Imperial College and New York University in London and he's now turning his attention to Gibraltar. He's developing of a new comedy series, with characters hailing from both Gibraltar and La Línea.Gibtelecom is launching an exhibition celebrating 155 years of communications history, called 'Gibraltar Calling'. Hosted at the historic Garrison Library as from today the exhibition takes visitors on a journey from the first submarine telegraph cable in 1870 to today’s high-speed fibre and mobile networks. Monsignor Charles Azzopardi received a Papal Blessing from Pope Leo XIV during a visit to the Vatican. The Bishop-Elect is in Rome ahead of his Episcopal Ordination, scheduled for December. Our News Editor Christine Vasquez told us more about the meeting.The Gibraltar Health Authority has received a boost in its ability to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal disorders, thanks to a £100,000 donation from the Gibraltar-based Pramila Trust. Vikrant Udeshi, Trustee of the Pramila Trust, told us that the grant has funded a new suite of gastrointestinal function testing equipment, allowing local patients to access tests without needing to travel abroad. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month; an international health campaign to promote screening and early detection. The local support group is once again launching its 'Move the Boob' campaign, inviting sports clubs, schools, and societies to get moving and fundraise. We spoke to Heidi Jeffries and Mercy Posso from the charity.And, Miss Gibraltar Julia Horne will be travelling to Ghana to support the Help Me Learn Africa charity. She's asking the community to get involved by donating football tops and kits for children. We caught up with Julia ahead of her trip. Today’s episode was recorded live from Devils Tower Camp, as we took a deep dive into the Royal Gibraltar Regiment. Over summer the Royal Gibraltar Regiment took part in some instructor roles in Chile as part of the Joint Centre for peacekeeping operations. We asked Lieutenant Colonel John Pitto, Commanding officer of the Royal Gibraltar regiment, what it entailed.Warrant Officer, Regimental Sergeant Major, Karon Fortunato is often described as a "regimental figurehead". As Regimental Sergeant Major, he is the figurehead of regimental discipline and tradition.Warrant Officer Corporal Jordan Drake has just recently returned from a deployment in Estonia. We asked him what was your role was there and how the regiment contributed to the mission.And we discussed the role of sport in the regiment with Warrant Officer Ethaniel Mor and Sergeant Arnold Rogers, being known for judo and running respectively. The iconic Sundial Roundabout could be replaced by a new design. The Government has asked architects and design professionals to design a new roundabout at the site as well as the Kingsway Roundabout. Christina Cortes told us how some of the community has reacted to the announcement. Environment and Transport Minister John Cortes was in the studio to chat about a number of topics, such as the end of Active Travel Month, a major sewage infrastructure project, as well as the plans to update the Sundial roundabout. The Sovereign Young Artist Competition 2026 has been launched, organised by the Sovereign Art Foundation in conjunction with Gibraltar Cultural Services. The competition will now feature two categories, recognising young artists aged 11 to 24. We spoke to Sovereign Group Marketing Coodinator, Phoebe Kelly. It's not every day that a work colleague celebrates their 40th work anniversary. In fact, we think it's the first time anyone has worked at GBC for 40 years. Today is 40 years since a beautiful, 19 year old, Sangeeta Fabre joined our finance department. This morning the boardroom was packed with people this morning who wanted to surprise her and wish her well on her 40th work anniversary. And there's a new TV show to tell you about. Force Origins: Red Four on the Rock airs tonight, and is about a Hollywood actor exploring one's roots on the Rock. Team Gibraltar has just achieved its highest scoring game so far at the Netball World Youth Cup. Our sports reporter Jose Mari Ruiz had just returned from the match and to bring us the latest and look ahead to what’s coming up in sport over the weekend.Bayside School is marking European Day of Languages today. It's a date that has been celebrated every year since 2001. With the school organising events to celebrate the day, we spoke to by Bayside language students Jessie Chipol Nunez and Stan Bielanowicz, as well as Deputy Head Girl and part of the Y12 responsibility team Celine Cruz. The weekend is in sight and EY's annual Relay for Children is taking place this Sunday, raising money for a different cause every year. This year, the event is supporting Cancer Relief Gibraltar and the Cancer Relief Centre. EY's Stephen Carreras and Cancer Relief's Marisa Desoisa explained more about the event.Local band Cedar are getting ready to go on the road, with a new tour starting next month. They also have a new single, 100%, being released next week, but they allowed Radio Gibraltar to play it early as a one off exclusive! The Chief Minister has denied all allegations of “perception of corruption” made in the Principal Auditor’s report, particularly those concerning the Wildlife Gibraltar Ltd contract and references to the wife of Environment Minister John Cortes. Fabian Picardo described the report as “egregiously wrong and factually unfair,” accusing the former Auditor of poor practice. We unpacked his speech from this morning’s Parliament session.The Netball World Youth Cup now moves into the next phase as Gibraltar prepared to  face Fiji. A song synonymous with the Cup has of course been Simon Dumas' 'Mighty as a Rock'. The Nashville based local singer gave Radio Gibraltar's Breakfast Show an exclusive listen of his new single 'Pretending I'm A Cowboy' earlier today.Next week, the community will once again come together for the Cancer Research Walk For Life. Last year, over 450 people took part and raised an incredible £3,500 for life-saving research. This year’s event takes place on Saturday the 4th of October at Casemates. We spoke to Annette Goodman from Cancer Research Gibraltar.And the Gibraltar Cadet Force is recruiting new members. You need to be between twelve and eighteen years old and the idea is to have fun, learn new skills and meet other youngsters with similar interests. We spoke to Jose Mari Ruiz live from the Europa Sports Complex, as Gibraltar was gearing up to take on reigning champions New Zealand at the World Netball Youth Cup! He also asked the organisers how the tournament has gone for them.The 29th edition of the Calpe Conference has just come to an end, with a focus on Gibraltar during the Second World War. For the first time the conference was held in the newly refurbished World War II Tunnels Complex. The Director of the Gibraltar Museum, Professor Clive Finlayson told us more.And, the International Centre for Atlantic History is hosting its first symposium on the Rock focused on the Spanish Civil War. Featuring speakers both local and international, the ICAH hopes to make Gibraltar a hub for historians studying Atlantic history. The Chief Minister has started an analysis in Parliament of the latest Principal Auditor’s report, which is expected to last a few days. He hopes the public will see the allegations made against the Government by the former Principal Auditor are factually and legally improper. Mr Picardo says he has consulted an audit specialist and is clear the report fails to comply with the basic requirements of independence and impartiality. World Netball says Carol was a valued member of the Netball family whose dedication and passion for the sport, both in Europe and on a world level, was invaluable. Success for team Gibraltar at the Special Olympics European Aquatics Open Water Cup in Barcelona! Ivan Manion Gomez claimed first place in the unified 800m event, whilst Adam Stewart came second. We caught up with Ivan and Adam, as well as Unified Partner, Charles Harrison and Coach, Darren Grech. The Gibraltar Risk Management Association is hosting a discussion for the business community. It's theme; From 'Risk to Resilience: Embedding ESG into Business Strategy', will feature Martin Massey, founder of One Risk Consulting; he was in the studio now alongside GRMA members, Kevin Borret and Knolly Knights. And as part of Menopause Awareness Month, the Federation of Small Businesses' next Wellbeing & Health in the Workplace session will focus on the Menopause & Stress: Thriving at Work. With the Gibraltar Netball Youth World Cup in full swing, our sports reporter Jose Mari Ruiz gave us a roundup of how the games are going, sharing news that both Zambia and Sri Lanka have withdrawn from the tournament due to visa issues. He also told us news of other sports events from over the weekend.The Gibraltar Triathlon 2025 is just around the corner, taking place Sunday 5th October. The event will be raising funds for the GBC Open Day and are encouraging teams to get creative with their team names. Triathlete Chris Walker explained why.According to Clubhouse one in four people experience a mental health condition in any given year. As many of us spend more time in the office than at home, the charity has launched a course on “Empowering Managers". Mental Health First Aid Instructor for Clubhouse Maryanne Nacimiento, Clubhouse member Tim Benson and People Director from Bassadone Nicole Stevens, told us more about the course.And, summer may be over but there’s lots to look forward to over the coming months as Gibraltar Cultural Services has announced its Autumn programme.
