Description
I have been expanding my music collection using the '1001 Albums To Hear Before You Die' book by Robert Dimery. After a few years of writing blog posts and posting the albums onto YouTube, I am here to discuss the albums I have listened to.

Episode 6 has us look at Duke Ellington's 1956 live album, Ellington at Newport. Well, it was supposed to be a live album. Ellington was asked to come into the studio the Monday after the live performance, to re-record several parts of the show. Phil explains his disappointment about learning this. Should live albums be live? Does it make much of a difference? Join in on this interesting debate and get in touch.

Episode 5 has us look at Fats Domino and his 1956 album, This is Fats! Fats Domino is cited as a pioneer of rock n roll music, a man that influenced Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and many more. This album is full of catchy songs, and one or two, in particular, will have you returning to replay them once they get stuck in your head. Apologies for that in advance.

Episode 3 of 1001 albums journey is an old country album by brothers, Charlie and Ira Louvin, aka The Louvin Brothers. Released in 1956, Tragic Songs of Life is country roots at its best with fantastic contrasting harmonies in both a low and high pitch. Join me as I discuss this under-appreciated album that you either love or hate.

Featuring the familiar song 'Blue Suede Shoes', this album starts off perfectly, but listen to what Phil and others think of the full album. Don't forget to get in touch with your opinion and thoughts on this album too.
🚨 Apologies for any audio issues, they will be ironed out for future episodes. 🚨
