We had a number of technical challenges with this episode and unfortunately lost about 10min of the recording. I hope it didn't detract too much. Eden Trails  ....&....  Facebook Kris KinosisAlternative schooling at Rudolf Steiner. Leaving school at 16 he has followed a different path to many. He was able to reconnect to Nature as a young man. How caring for his autistic brother led him to be able to help others with mental health challenges. Story telling, therapeutic and holistic crafts. He became interested and continues to learn about the parallels between Native American and Celtic shamanism. The interconnection of all things. The Scottish Caledonian mountains were once part of the Appalachian mountains in North America so the land is the same. The original teachings of Shamanism are lost and we only have fragments. Their spirituality was based on Natural Law and Animism, where every natural thing is living (animate or inanimate) and a rock or a mountain is a “being”. Nature has a sentience far beyond our own.Druids whole system was based on oral teaching and the only records we have are from Romans which contained much propaganda. The documentary The Last Druid gives good insights. Druids were told to integrate within the Church and new society. We see this integration in church buildings. Even the Celtic Church word Kerk, the root of that word means Circle and the churches were circular.  Unlike the square or rectangular Catholic  church.Celtic cross was the symbol was integral to Druids and is the symbol of the Celtic Cross (Crighton E Miller)Nature does not end here on earth.Trees were central to Druid (Scots - Oak Knower) or (Irish - Red God)Yew tree was sacred and grow for thousands of years and can regenerateStone carvings of foliage personifies the landscape and may represent part of the Druid history. Taught under and post graduate paediatric chiropractic many years. Runs a multi-disciplinary practice in Godalming, Surrey, UK. She sees her role as clinic owner as allowing staff and associates to bud , grow and flower individually. Rather than insisting that they follow her model of practice. A healer connects people to themselves, allowing to recognise their own bodies. She operates from an intuitive level using the idea of "Physiological Consent" when the patients "system is open".  Interoception means sensing internal signals from your body. Listening to your body's signals. Loves lighting fires in others.Chiropractic helps you re-connect to yourself and allows you to Find your Genius.Along with a team of dedicated volunteers, she has helped turn the walled garden behind her practice into an oasis of calm and healing. Where first staff could take time out. This transitioned into providing a safe space for Teens with anxiety and other mental health challenges to come and garden. Now with Registered Charity status, The Green Hub Project for Teens allows them to connect with Nature, themselves and others. The combination of the healing elements of bacteria in the soil, volatile chemical compounds from the plants, repeated patterns in nature, the wavelengths of green, movement and volunteering all produce a calm brain, increased motivation and enhanced immune function. With participants scoring notable improvements in wellbeing after taking part. With both short and long term mental health benefits. Tips:L Bring nature to you,m grow something. Source Breathwork  https://linktr.ee/Charliemoulthttps://www.instagram.com/charliemoultLoving me, Loving you - Day Retreat in London- 4 June and 21 October.Spotify playlist for breathing practice Breathwork and Chiropractic work in similar ways, to bring the body into a place of safety, remove resistance to life force, profoundly affect our emotional state and connect us to source energy. She believes that in deepening the relationship we have to our body and breath, we hold the keys to healing and transformation. Ayahuasca experience in Mexico (Arkana with Shipibo tribe changed) had a rebirth experience and gained a deeper understanding that has changed her life, BW practice and how she wants to help people. It has been difficult to integrate back into normal life and not have an ego about her special experience. Her own life changing experiences through this work  has seen her life and practice continually evolve. Now started singing more (makes her joyful), doing movement work and grounding (being in your body, calm and steady - staying in the light/joyful things). The plant medicine is still evident and still speaks to her. Chiropractic Subluxation: 3 different resistance (mental/emotional, physical or spiritual) to life force (express and experience of life). Our body is a map of our life experiences, stored trauma is both in the body and the nervous system.Charlie prefers private one-to-one basis and these usually take longer. Group settings are varied depending on audience and the group experience can magnify the experience. The group can help people feel comfortable and safe. Richer experiences have more joy and synergy and she appreciates her friends more. Altered states of consciousness can be attained with BW without taking plant medicines. You need to feel safe and looked after, by those guiding you and for integration after journey. Mindset in any of these experiences is very important.Consistency with a Daily Breath practice, calms the nervous system and allows you to feel safe and experience more joy.  Connect and Ascend with Destiny and Tim 23-24 June in KentContact: tim.thenaturalyou@gmail.com Instagram FacebookProducer Matthew Wood - mw250204@gmail.comMusic by MarkJuly from Pixabay

drdon@insulinfriendlyliving.com https://www.facebook.com/groups/insulinfriendly Day 19 through a 30 day water fast. Emphasis is on hormones especially Insulin. Start 2 weeks before by decreasing high oxalate foods and fibre in diet and spices. Get off coffee before. Gets easier, the deeper you get in. Fatigue and cold is linked to detox reactions and carb addiction behaviour. Your energy and alertness  goes up by 15%. Primal genes kick in within 3-5 hours. B NTF and other hormones come out to play. When insulin goes down, HGF goes up 300%. Longer than 7 days needs to be supported & customised. Fasting is not starvation or an eating disorder. Our genome was built with fasting built in. It expects us to FAST! And when we don't, things start to break down. Motivation and drive increases. Build your capacity using internal rewards to boost dopamine but external rewards have a negative effect. As external reward drops we get hyper focused with one thing (eg porn). When we set our own achievements it can go on indefinitely. You don’t lose weight to get healthy, you get healthy to lose weight. You can lower your blood glucose number without getting healthy. Tape test: measure 1 inch around above navel 35+ inches women, 40+men = metabolic syndrome. 33-35 (Men 38-40)insulin resistance risk. Insulin decides whether you burn or store energy.  When it's always on the scene, fat is stuck and you have to burn sugar.  Liquid sugar- Fructose (HFCS) causes fatty liver. Our addiction pathway for fructose makes us hungrier and can’t get full. In summer, fruit is plentiful, the body wants to over-eat & put on fat for winter. Liver fat is normal as it prepares us to do something, but we don't. These mechanisms came before fire and we’d use these stores to heat us in winter. Insulin Friendly, not calories. Drop sugar. Start with 3 meals per day, no snacking. Time restricted eating doesn't change what you eat. High insulin= any food in powder form (eg flour). Body interprets food particle size (powder/ liquid =bad). 30g protein powder raises insulin 700x more than sugar does. 30g of chicken will not. K cells in the upper gut controls 70% of Insulin response. Eat real foods, 3 meals per day first, no snax, after 1-2 month then try the more advanced things.Contact: tim.thenaturalyou@gmail.com Instagram FacebookProducer Matthew Wood - mw250204@gmail.comMusic by MarkJuly from Pixabay
“Connect and Ascend” event with Destiny and Tim max@drmax.pt A Jewish born American, now a Buddhist living in Portugal.  His father was a liberal psychology professor and he grew up with access to interesting books and people to talk to. First intro to Buddhism was a book, “Importance of Living” which was critical about it & that it was all about suffering, so he wasn’t  interested. But he remained interested in Eastern Philosophy (Taoism, Chinese med, acupuncture & Chi Gong). An accidental encounter at a Qigong seminar at a Buddhist Center, he was impressed and attracted by the Place and the People and the Peace they exhibited. The Shambala school teaches Tibetan Buddhism in a way that Westerners can relate to, without changing the fundamental principles. Chogyam Trungpa was a controversial figure. If you are looking to evaluate a spiritual tradition - look at the students or disciples.  He is aspiring to be a practising Buddhist, Trying to integrate the basic things into daily life. Maintaining awareness during everyday life. Trying to keep a sense of compassionate equanimity to everyone. Not just the people it's easy to be nice with.  Meditation practice Tonglen (Taking and sending). We tend to want comfortable and avoid uncomfortable. Take in what they’re expressing (inhale black smoke) convert it to it’s antidote (white light), for them (and for yourself), e.g. patience might be the antidote to anger. This is a form of alchemy transforming poison into something pure. If we want to be happy and live in a peaceful world, where people aren’t killing each other, Then we need this more than anything.  We are empowered to diffuse and de-escalate situations and not feed the old patterns. Practise on simpler stuff, imagine or rehearse situations. These emotions can  lead to imbalance, that leads to sickness. See Tibetan medicine (sowa-rigpa). Whatever is going on in our minds, not only determines  behaviours but what we do to others and the planet. The problems of damage to Nature (deforesting, ocean toxic etc) is to do with our relationship with our emotions : greed, desire and attachment. If we have any hope of having more trees or cleaning up the oceans we need to at least start looking at what's going on in our heads. When we attach to things we can never truly hold onto, we are going to have a problem. Buddhism observes how things really are and not the way that we want them to be. (Variation is inevitable). Death is not morbid, it is part of nature and part of life.  The cessation and destruction of ourselves and everything we have built up, can be hard for people to contemplate and accept.  Reincarnation makes sense to him but he’s not hung up on it. He wants to work on his mind now so he can enjoy his death.. Not full of fear and attachment, be clear and enjoy the ride. That's going to take some work. Tips: On waking, check where your mind is and at (same b4 bed). Frames your day with reflection and awareness. Mantra- “protect one's mind from one's own negativity” can be balancing. Contact: tim.thenaturalyou@gmail.com Instagram FacebookProducer Matthew Wood - mw250204@gmail.comMusic by MarkJuly from Pixabay
https://www.instagram.com/robynhelmbold/    #1000 Hours Outside  Free Apple App  2.99 Apple AppRobyn, a 4th year veterinary student, grew up in a  coastal village in South Africa where she attended a small Eco School. For a large part of this they were in the local wetland area and were always involved with clearing rubbish and alien invasive plants. This stewardship and care for the environment was just General Knowledge. Without these early years of being in Nature and caring for it, it seems unlikely that people will act to conserve or protect the environment. Her 1st year of veterinary school was in Pretoria, a big city. She was overwhelmed and scared a lot of the time, running on autopilot. Without access to Nature she felt scared and unsafe, whereas her peers seemed unaffected by this sensory overload and were at home in this very urban environment. Fortunately, “lockdowns” meant that she was able to escape this “5km prison”. Her 2nd year on the Veterinary campus with open areas and animals was a completely different experience. She could feel the “Grass Underneath Her Feet” and able to touch animals and be quiet, together with them. Her Core Value is BALANCE. Every aspect of her life from what she eats, to when she wakes and how much time she studies or is outdoors is guided by this. She now has a study group that have moved outdoors, they are more productive and others seem to be following their lead.  Riding since she was 3, she has a special bond with horses. Riding is an opportunity for her brain to go quiet and a feeling of being free. JoAnn Deak in her book “Girls will be Girls”, speaks about the positive impact horses can have on developing girls confidence. There is still prejudice against women in vet sphere but mostly in wildlife and large animal arenas. Imbalances are being corrected with about 60% of the students on her program being female. Not many Natural alternatives to standard pharmacological options are taught. But there are alternative, wholistic approaches,  like Homeopathy out there. To generate interest in Nature decline and Conservation, we need to make it fashionable, a trend. Then people will realise how beneficial being in Nature is. At the beginning of the year she started a “1000 Hours Outdoors Challenge”, so spends 3-4 hours everyday outside. To make this feasible she is moving more of her usual daily activities outdoors, rather than carving out large chunks of time. On waking she spends at least 10min getting direct sunlight, which has been shown to improve circadian rhythms and energy levels. You can find more info and evidence at Hubermanlab.com. In her opinion, The One Thing that people think of as “Normal” but not “Natural” is: compromising sleep for deadlines. Working late into the night and losing sleep compromises performance and health. Contact: tim.thenaturalyou@gmail.com Instagram FacebookProducer Matthew Wood - mw250204@gmail.comMusic by MarkJuly from Pixabay

Connect and Ascend registration - 23-34 June 2023 in West Malling, Kent, UKdestiny@destinychiropractic.co.uk, Facebook, InstagramDestiny was born to Hippy parents in California and moved to the UK when she was 12. She was drawn to chiropractic because of the humanistic, vitalistic and “magical” elements. But at chiro school she felt that she lost part of herself, her more magical side, in mechanistic study. Magic in her life has telepathic elements and something more than the physical, the metaphysical or super-natural. She believes we create our own reality, so she decided to create a magical one for herself. After moving to,  what her husband, a more “grounded” guy, described as a haunted house.  Then the fairly traumatic birth of her first child and his challenging early childhood. It wasn’t until 14 years latter and after the second child, her daughter, was having terrible nightmares that she got help from Nicola. Nicola came to the house and spoke a “weird language” with different sounds . Unprompted, she started replying in the same language. She calls this “Light Language” and believes she channels Star People. As if catching up for lost time, she entered an intense phase of writing, drawing and telepathic ability. She now has learned to use this more sensitively, using her intuition to guide her. She can now understand the messages and interpret/translate the information but always asks permission before sharing. People who can also do this, are mostly women but Destiny thinks men who have done deep emotional work, can do it too but may use it in a more physical or  kinaesthetic way. Her studio is a very welcoming environment. She brings Nature into her practice with loads of plants and lovely smells. With 5 tables people can come in and leave their stress at the door. Our "busyness" disconnects us from our bodies ie we become Dis-embodied. She sees herself in the role of a facilitator of healing and would like people to nurture themselves as much as we would a garden or a newborn. The human brain is linear but we are layered, multi-dimensional and flowing  beings. We are all connected and form part of the collective consciousness and collective unconsciousness. Things that can help us connect with our more magical or supernatural selves are: getting chiropractic adjustments, meditation and breathwork. You can experience all of those at her next Connect and Ascend event https://forms.gle/2ce8EX6dvMkEP7r47Contact: tim.thenaturalyou@gmail.com Instagram FacebookProducer Matthew Wood - mw250204@gmail.comMusic by MarkJuly from Pixabay
email: Vismai@thechiropractor.com.sg  Book: https://www.keepyourclients.com/chiropractorsCoaching: https://www.mychiropracticsweetspot.com/Vitalism- we live in a clever universe. I believe my body is clever and part of this universe. Naturalism we adhere to laws of nature and are not separate from this.  Vitalism and Naturalism melted very early in life when he ate the foods that his parents had grown in their garden. The intelligence of the food meeting and fusing with the intelligence in the body. Drinking from a spring has something more (an extra vibration) than tap water. His biggest fusion of Nature and Vitalism came together when studying chiro. “Nature needs to help, just no interference”.Business coach said "move with the speed of Nature". He uses these governing principles for the biggest decisions in his life. Wholists take responsibility for their lives. Humanists have a friendly relationship with their body.  Opposites: Reductionist view life in parts, look for single reasons to blame. Naturalists turn to Nature when needing healing. Artificialist will look for a synthetic option to solve a problem.  Vitalists believe the body has a soul and is clever, whereas Mechanists don’t.  Authoritarian (opposite Humanist) praises when doing well but blames when things go wrong).  Connecting dots of Vitalism through his life: As a kid watching ants before the rain. (cause and effect relationship between different things & seasonal aspects of life). Died in West Africa and woke up in London. Had a full classic Near Death Experience. The pin prick of light, the movie of all the things that had happened in his life. EVERYTHING just made sense. A Cosmic Joke was revealed to him. His true nature, an infinite forever true being of light, was revealed. In an infinite universe that was painfully loving and ecstatic. But it was pretty boring and alone. The ideas of simple earthly (grounded rather than hallucinogenic) experiences  were heightened and haven't  left him. Initially it made him tired and separated him from old friends. Of course he has shit days, arguments, gets upset and behaves poorly but even his worst day is just "this unique human experience is just so entertaining" and just a tiny blip in infinity. That's why he is happy to slow down and just enjoy moments. He doesn't need to know the science or theories involved with Nature; he just enjoys being in it. Naturalist and Mechanist traits exist in all professions. You can even bring natural remedies in a mechanistic way. The best way to connect to the intelligence in the universe is through chiropractic. Chiropractic removes the interference to the flow of this intelligence. He knows this because, coming back after his NDE he found that the adjustment returned the NDE flavour and blissful state to him. His whole journey since, has been to learn how to communicate this. The adjustment helps connect the intelligence inside of us, to the intelligence outside of us. Look for a chiropractor that is obsessed with their craft, practicing in a non-diagnostic, non-therapeutic way of adjusting - this is vitalistic chiropractic.Contact: tim.thenaturalyou@gmail.com Instagram FacebookProducer Matthew Wood - mw250204@gmail.comMusic by MarkJuly from Pixabay
Ross is a Marine Biologist and a leader in his field of Seabird Conservation and Fisheries Improvements. His PhD (with distinction) from the University of Cape Town took 3rd place in an international competition run by the United Nations-Environmental Programme.  He has authored numerous scientific papers and has been featured in popular reads like National Geographic.Since childhood he has had a deep connection with nature and had a great curiosity learning about how it all fits together. He also was drawn to observing birds which no one else in his family found interesting. After deciding that Teaching wasn't the path for him, he joined a Long Lining Fishing operation in the Antarctica, as Scientific Observer, where he was surrounded by the most incredible wild nature of birds and other sea life. The technique of long lining has thousands of baited hooks to catch fish. Unfortunately many scavenging birds, including albatross, try to dive for these tasty morsels and get hooked or caught up in the lines. The result is hundreds of thousands of birds being needlessly killed. He is not against fishing, as it can be done sustainably and is a very healthy source of protein and things like Omega 3s. Techniques like only fishing at night and bird scarring lines can reduce bird fatalities. Ross explained the precarious role of the Observer collecting data for research but having no impact on compliance. In international waters on the High Seas, the Captain is boss. This is complicated further by Sovereignty and Nationality issues. Any changes in International Fisheries  agreements have to be achieved by consensus. Social opprobrium, where no one (or no country) wants to be the “bad guys” is very often the best way forward.  When confronted by rules or systems we either have to change the rules, or if we can't do that, work within them. Getting Intergovernmental agreement at a Policy level means understanding the needs of all the players. Getting agreements (including things like compensation) will ultimately lead to best practice measures to save sea life and ensure sustainable catch rates. This was shown in the Atlantic tuna successes data, that he was able to bring over and convince the Koreans and other players that this could also be achieved by the Indian Ocean Tuna fleets.  Adopting these measures in Long line and trawling has saves tens of thousands of birds every year. This extrapolated over years means some species like the albatross are being saved from extinction. Lessons: 1. Systems rule everything. So recognise your power and your limits of power.2. Understand written and unspoken rules.3. Which actors have power to influence.4. You can change anything, but you need patience.5. Understand how you (or your position/interest) is perceived and what language is used by non supporters to describe these.6. Your job isn’t to change the world. Just to move the needle a bit in your lifetime7. It’s never to late (Nature is resilient and can bounce back)Conclusion: If you are not in the game, you are guaranteed things will get worse. So BE IN THE GAME!Contact: tim.thenaturalyou@gmail.com Instagram FacebookProducer Matthew Wood - mw250204@gmail.comMusic by MarkJuly from Pixabay
https://joannarodriguez.co.uk   Fuck it Friday   https://www.instagram.com/straightforwardpsychology/Stress and anxiety are part of a normal and natural survival strategy. But we are not designed for constant stress. This causes negative impacts on the mind and body. Function at work suffers, relationships and families are affected and the immune function also decreases . We can “Re-Live” threats from the past and in our memories we can re-create the thoughts and feelings of those events. Or we can “Pre-Live” events by worrying about imagined futures. Much of our thinking is driven by the media, this is fuelling stress, anxiety and negatively affects us. The media are dividing us and creating an environment of hate and fear. (CBT) has more evidence supporting it than any other psychological therapy . We tend to focus on the things that are “going wrong” rather than those areas where we are doing well. Jo helps change the lens through which her clients view things and to see areas they might be missing.   IT IS ALWAYS SOLVABLE!While understanding the past can be very helpful and important, CBT also gives things for people to do. “Third Wave'' therapies, offer holistic view of promoting health and well-being rather than the reduction or elimination of  symptoms. Mindfulness of where holding tension. Breathing (long exhales) help release. Allow ourselves to feel our emotions. A mindful walk is a favourite. Being outside and seeing the sky can remind us of the Bigger Picture. Parasympathetic  allows physical relaxing and  then we can work on the “Thinking” side of things, more coherent and get an idea of “what is really going on right now?”. The Lead Up comes before the Start. We can learn to detect states and feelings before we are triggered. Problems are never in isolation. Every stress is cumulative and our bandwidth for dealing with them is so small right now. With multiple stressors our brain is trying to find out “The Thing” causing our stress, when actually it's almost never one thing. This is very much part of the medical model of finding that “One Thing” and the “One Pill” to fix it.“WHAT DO I REALLY NEED TO DO TO HEAL MYSELF?”We know our minds and bodies are one. Dramatic early changes are possible but consistency is very important. Without practice our mind will default to the old patterns. It’s not about whether we fall off the horse but how many times we get back on. Don’t dwell on the failures. We need to be gentle with ourselves and develop a more compassionate mind and recognise it's OK to fail. Consider the idea of building in capacity for down times and being more flexible in plans. Things are harder when we do them alone. Buddying up with people, support networks and communities can help.  Join the revolution and say “Fuck it!”UK CBT practitioner registerContact: tim.thenaturalyou@gmail.com Instagram FacebookProducer Matthew Wood - mw250204@gmail.comMusic by MarkJuly from Pixabay
Duffy Quiropratica  -  Book: Befriend GravityGlenn grew up on the outskirts of Dublin and remembers playing in the fields and being unsupervised playing in Nature and making dens. Then having dogs meant that  they had to walk them which meant roaming around the local countryside and Wicklow mountains. He now has kids of his own (7&5) and has followed his siblings in Nature based parenting. Today’s “hovering” parents try to control their children in an effort to protect them. This is often coupled with the parents teaching fear of nature to their children. Richard Louv’s book The Last Child in the Woods explores Nature Deficit in kids and how the “Bogeyman” is more likely to be someone you know (neighbour or friend) than to be found in the woods. Kids like Nature are a lot better off when we stop interfering with them. Children with sensory disorders need to be in nature. Nature feeds the brain through natural stimulation, something we all need. Once parents become aware of the positive effects of being in Nature both in terms of health and lifespan they want this for their children. To schedule into their busy lives they need to FEEL the value. We are amnesic to the things that work for us. Nature is in all of us, ready to be observed. We only need to stop, be present and observe.Tips: 1) Draw up a values based list and build your weekly schedule around this. 2) The greater the attention the less time needed. 3) be immersed in Nature. Meditation: direct attention to something in nature. Use conscious breaths as a gateway to this. At deeper levels become aware of the continuity of self with everything in nature (no difference, end or beginning). The Body is so complex. You could spend a whole lifetime studying all the mathematics to explain it and still not grasp its complexity. So why waste time on trying to figure it all out. Glenn now spends less time trying to analyse things and more time using and honing his Intuition. The body is giving off signals all the time, turning off the analytical part of his brain and tapping into intuition, allowing him to see, hear and feel what the body is saying. This is almost a meditative state where he can pick up on the subtle cues rather than just what the client/patient is verbalising about pain. Indeed this can actually distract from the real or underlying problems. The medicalisation of health means that we want to turn off the body Shouting at us with pain signals, instead of listening to the whispering, subtle cues and conversation it is constantly having. But only if we “listen”.Contact: tim.thenaturalyou@gmail.com Instagram FacebookProducer Matthew Wood - mw250204@gmail.comMusic by MarkJuly from Pixabay
Charles Hall is Nature Reserve Superintendent in the Northern Cape of South Africa. He has a BSc in Animal Physiology and Honours, in Nature Conservation both from Stellenbosch Uni.He has also served as Game Ranger, Ecologist, professional guide and hunter. Currently he is responsible for the breeding and welfare of several rare species (Sable, Roan Antelope and Cape Buffalo). He is a man at home in the bush and is deeply connected to the land. More recently, he has been involved in educational projects helping local schools and communities re-connect to Nature allowing them to experience the full value of the Natural environment. It’s through these endeavours of Sustainable Use principles and education, that we see his drive and passion to ensure conservation of our natural heritage.High value species: Animals have a monetary value either for trophy and/or meat. This is related to the scarcity of the animal. The change to the South African law in 1991 legalising private ownership of wildlife has resulted in flourishing of wildlife, often in stark contrast to countries where this is banned, where numbers have plummeted.  Breeding programmes mean that diversity of the genome is ensured while increasing animal numbers. Bloodlines are recorded for many generations to prevent inbreeding and weakening of the herd and a ratio of around 30 females to 1 bull is maintained. While animals roam freely, farms are fenced. So, depending on the size of the property, feed and minerals may need to be supplemented particularly in the cold dry winters. Artificial insemination is not viable at this point in time. Only 3-5% of a herd will be of trophy value. These are usually males with their more impressive horns and hide. Previously value was in the females for reproduction purposes. This resulted in heavy investment in game farming which has dwindled after this boom period. Hunting by foreigners brings in significant revenue, not only for the hunt but the added value to tourism is significant. Game farming contributes USD 438 million annually to the economy. While tourism in South Africa's National Parks generates USD$120 million annually. 35% of the SA population is unemployed, natural resources of fauna and flora are under increasing pressure for both food (poaching) and fuel (trees for heating and cooking) Many in rural areas don’t have access to electricity and those that do, are increasingly affected by load shedding (daily electricity rationing) as the National Energy provider Eskom has been under invested and mismanaged for 25 years. Some consider hunting to be cruel. The notion of killing an animal just for its horns to be hung on a wall in a foreign country, seems justifiably abhorrent to many. Yet, Charles makes the point to meat eaters, that a wild animal shot on the land will very often have less stress and suffering than an animal transported to and slaughtered at, an abattoir would. The second challenge is the simple fact that millions of South Africans are undernourished and their daily challenge is to put food on the plate for themselves and their children. Something not easily grasped by those sitting at home with full bellies everyday. It is this balancing of the needs of people and animals that is playing out all over the world.Contact: tim.thenaturalyou@gmail.com Instagram FacebookProducer Matthew Wood - mw250204@gmail.comMusic by MarkJuly from Pixabay

https://hannahelliott.com/https://www.instagram.com/sexualwellbeingforwomen/Hannah is a Holistic Psychosexual and Somatic Trauma Therapist  working with women to help recognise their own unique and personal understanding of sexuality and sexual health; with the understanding that arising issues have roots in our psychology and our experiences which often creates a split between the emotional body and the physical body connection. Many issues around intimacy are related to dissociation of the mind-body connection. This is where Eastern approaches tend to be more helpful than current western approaches. The psychological elements of decreased arousal and desire are strongly linked to Stress, Anxiety and Despair. These create a stagnation in what Hannah calls the lower triangle. To address this we need to move out of the head and reconnect to the body. This can be something as simple as SOOTHING things like sighing, taking walks in nature and warm baths.  We live in an overstimulated environment. With a strong hedonistic, ego influenced culture. Porn can be seen as a symptom of our overstimulation. It seems we are addicted to this hyperstimulation in many areas of our home and work lives with constant barrage of lights, sounds, alerts and information. We need to take EXTRA EFFORT to connect as couples. Turn off the TV, put away the phones, be present.Make the other feel heard. Dress up nicely for ourselves and for our partners. Connect and be interested in their day. Sensate focus: SLOW IT DOWN. Turn the lighting down. Give feedback as to what touch is good or not. Mid-life crises: Can be linked to the challenges of female Menopause but often overlooked is the male Andropause with lower testosterone levels, shifting life focus and a common symptom is grumpiness. We need to create more safe space for men who can be addicted to being busy, in a very materialistic “patho-adolescent” society. Allowing and creating an environment for men to move into true adulthood and towards becoming true elders, which is not something that comes automatically with age. Listening to your body. Do you have body signals like skin rashes or other areas of body inflammation (eg digestive disorders like IBS or autoimmune like issues)? These can be areas of unconscious stress or unresolved conflict from earlier in your life. Constant life stress activates the Fight or Flight response which turns on the Proinflammatory part of healing system, which is important if you’re just about to be mauled by a tiger. This is the important first phase of healing but we need to move out of that into the Rest and Digest stage which allows for the next two phases of healing the allow for replacement of damaged cells and regeneration. But if we never activate this Parasympathetic side to our nervous systems in this sympatheritc dominance, we stay inflamed.  Ask yourself: Does my body feel “In Harmony”?There are acupuncture points in the sexual organs that link to other parts of the body. So stimulation of these affect our physical and emotional states.Contact: tim.thenaturalyou@gmail.com Instagram FacebookProducer Matthew Wood - mw250204@gmail.comMusic by MarkJuly from Pixabay
