Have you visited The Malt Lounge in London? We went to a whisky and food pairing recently with drams from @wmcadenheads, Japanese inspired canapés, and cocktails mixed by the expert bar staff.Tucked away within @theprinceakatokilondon, Marylebone, near Marble Arch, the ambience and lighting makes it a joy to spend an afternoon or evening.Here's the menu for the montly tasting we attended:Whisky high spritz Smoked belinis and celeriac remoulade15 year old Ardmore Otoro tartare on lotus crisp16 year old Glen Elgin Beef takaki, garlic crisps, negi ponza10 year old Hazelburn Senbei, nashi pear compoteMalty panky Cheese selection.Shout out to Murray, Sean, Gugliemo, and the staff. We may have stayed afterwards and had a few more expertly made cocktails, because we had so much fun. Mike and Duncan had the opportunity to an exclusive tasting session accompanied by Michael Henry, aka Michelle 'Enry, Master Blender, and Nick Bradley, Prestige Portfolio Manager, from The Loch Lomond Group.The chaps get to try some spectacular, once in a lifetime whiskies. The new Elements of Campbeltown, Release No.1 Air. Limited to 100 individually numbered decanters, it is Glen Scotia's first ever 50 year old whisky. Distilled in 1973, and fully matured in refill American oak.If that wasn't good enough Michelle and Nick pulled out a Loch Lomond 50 year old, matured in a careful selection of refill American Oak and then first fill Bourbon hogsheads, before a final finish in the finest first fill Oloroso hogshead for over five years.
