It's time for another teen film! This week we are taking a look at Pretty In Pink which is another film written by John Hughes. In this weeks episode you can expect many crossovers from other films we have reviewed, quite a loose plot and an absolute legend named Duckie!
When a robot is struck by lightning it gains the ability to think for itself and ends up going on a big adventure trying to escape its creators. From this weeks episode on Short Circuit you can expect a police academy reunion, a very stereotypical Indian accent and a few creepy robot moments.
This film really took us by surprise at how amazing it is! The message it sends is timeless and we've never had such a deep conversation on the podcast before. In this weeks episode you can expect a really thoughtful conversation about the themes brought up in the film, talk on how amazing Robin Williams is and we contemplate whether poetry is good or not.
We went into this film with very little expectations and are now very shocked with how much we liked it! So this week, join us on a trip round creepy German guys house where we can have a slice of pie and relax as the town gets taken over bu some good old monsters!
This week we think it's time for a good Action-Fantasy classic! Join us on a journey to Scotland and beyond as we review Highlander! From this weeks episode you can expect the most Scottish guy in the film to play someone from Spain, some absolutely massive swords that I don't know how get past airport security and some of the coolest one liners ever! "There can be only one"
We're back! This week we are taking a nice little stroll into the magical forest to meet all the Totoro's! In this episode you can expect talk on the creepy but cute cat bus, the absolutely amazing animation and a lot of bad pronunciation of Japanese names )sorry).
This week we are reviewing a film we never thought we would. After our experience with the first Evil Dead we didn't think we'd be back anytime soon, but here we are, and it's maybe only slightly better than expected. In this weeks episode you can expect the quickest end to a relationship probably ever, some of the dumbest characters ever seen and a literal castle...yes that's right, a castle.
This week we bring you an episode where the guest doesn't even like the film! We thought doing Dune now would be fitting since part 2 of the modern dune films has just released. In this episode you can expect a space pug, casual nuclear warfare and a baby with more knowledge than you could ever think possible!
Are you ready for this weeks action packed, adrenaline fuelled, truck driving, arm wrestling joy ride of a movie? Well we definitely weren't as there's some mixed feelings about this film going around.. We hope you enjoy our 50th Episode and we than you for listening and supporting the Podcast! Get ready for the next 50!
Back to our old friend John Hughes this week with Planes, Trains and Automobiles. It's a bit of a switch from his teen films we have liked so much, will this reflect on our thoughts? From this weeks episode you can expect wet socks, a lot of talk about thanksgiving without showing the dinner and a lengthy conversation about if it would be possible to use a plane, train and automobile in 90 minutes.
Bit of a spooky one this week. Another Horror by John Carpenter that focuses on religious aspects to make it just that little bit more chilling. Apart from that, in this weeks episode you can expect a lot of characters who are as thick as the fog, a backstory that seems like a more interesting movie and ZOMBIES......actually I don't think they are zombies, don't really know what they are.
For some reason we've been putting this one off for almost a year but it's finally time to cut loose and review Footloose! Come with us too a small town where dancing is illegal and one city boy plans to change that. You can expect some classic 80s music, the slowest game of chicken on the vehicles you would least expect and a lot (and I mean a lot) of DANCING!
Now this week is a strange one. As you may be able to tell from the title this film is about 3 specific things. And in that sense the film is definitely telling the truth as there is literally nothing going on expect people talking about sex, lies or funnily enough videotape. You can expect an extended conversation about 'garbage' with a therapist, some of the blandest acting ever seen and your two hosts a bit out of their minds because of the unusual recording time of this episode.
This week we are looking at the classic comedy from the 80s that is Police academy! It may not have aged greatly but there is definitely some redeemable qualities that make this film fun to watch. Expect a Christmas song in January, an unfortunate incident with a horse and a romantic relationship with absolutely no development.
This week we are diving back into the world of teen films as we watch one of John Hughes most memorable movies, The Breakfast Club! From this episode you can expect our first guest in over ten episodes, some very serious topics and one of the most iconic ending freeze frames of all time.
In todays episode we review the 1982 film, Diner. This is an authentic friendship tale about a group of young men just living their lives. You can expect some of our worst jokes yet, the most casually planned affair ever and some strange popcorn placement.
You've got the touch! You've got the power! As this week we are taking a look at the animated transformers film following the characters from the original TV series. Expect all your favourite characters to die, no time to pause between action sequences and probably one of the best soundtracks ever.
For our final Christmas adventure we are taking a look at a more controversial film. This is not because of any offensive content but rather its classification as a Christmas film. There's only one film it could be...Die Hard! Take a trip to Nakatomi Plaza with us and John McClane where you can expect weird plane travel tips, the most oblivious limo driver and more than enough festive F-Bombs for the entire year! Also, Merry Christmas Everyone.
Back with another Christmas film! This week we take a drive out to the forest with Chevy Chase to pick out the best tree, as we watch National Lampoon's Christmas vacation. From this episode you can expect way to many Christmas lights, lots of Chevy Chase and some crispy cooked cat.
For our second Christmas special we are taking a look at a modern take on a classic story. That Classic story is A Christmas Carol and we are watching Scrooged! Join us on this adventure to the past and the future where you can expect a barking human, possibly the worst Christmas present of all time and the most happy reaction to being held at gun point.
