Have you ever been misrepresented or had your words taken out of context-- Every single day, people claim to speak for God, but their words blatantly contradict Scripture. But how can we actually know whether or not someone is speaking on God's behalf-- To answer that question, we first need to ask- Are there still prophets today-- Our answer to that question will drastically impact our lives, our relationships, and our worship. In this sermon, we discover that it is actually much better for us if there are not currently prophets.
We come again to our discussion on false teachers. If these people are teaching things that are contrary to God's truth, why would God allow them to continue-- Additionally, many people who are false teachers actually know that they're false teachers. What would their motive be to teach -and twist- something that they don't actually believe--

Kevin Patrick continues our study of Titus.
False teachers are everywhere, including the Christian church. Many of them -if not most of them- come off as good, honest, respectable teachers of God's Word, which makes them all the more believable. So how do we discern if someone is speaking on the behalf of God instead of their own ideas-- How should we respond when we encounter a false teacher--
Today we talk about false teachers. What is a false teacher-- How can we identify one-- Is all teaching that is false actually false teaching-- These questions are what we address as we look at the beginning verse of 2 Peter 2.
Why do we spend our money the way that we do-- The way we use our money is dictated by our beliefs. So what does your wallet show about your heart-- Why should we even bother giving to gospel ministries-- Are there any benefits that we can experience ourselves or does it only help those in then the ministry-- What does the Bible say about the benefits that we can experience--
How to Go to Hell

How to Go to Hell

2024-04-0741:00

All of us are on the path to one of two destinations- Heaven or Hell. How can we know which path we are one-- We can know by the different attributes that distinguish the two paths. If we find that we are on the path leading to eternal destruction, what can we do to get on the path that leads to eternal life--
Today we continue our talk about the importance of our view of Scripture. We are constantly bombarded with information from the news, the internet, and peers, what confidence should we put in the Bible-- Should it really be the authority of our lives-- While those are important questions, we really need to start by asking- What was Jesus' view of Scripture and is that my view--

Many of us live as if the resurrection is largely irrelevant . Sure, we believe it, but does it impact our daily lives-- If the resurrection did happen - so what-- What are the implications oof this event-- For starters, this determines Jesus' the validity of Jesus' life, ministry, death, and overall identity. Secondly, it has implications on our identity as believers and how God sees us, which in turn has a drastic impact on our lives. Are you allowing the resurrection to change your heart and your life--
Today we take a look at one of the most important passages regarding the doctrine of Scripture. Though we may not be cognizant of it, our view of Scripture will have a dramatic impact on our lives. What does Peter say about how to view Scripture--

Kevin Patrick begins teaching through the epistle of Titus.
A lot can happen in a week. On Palm Sunday, Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey and was heralded as a King. Less than a week later, He is tried and condemned as a criminal. As we approach Easter, we look at what happened to Jesus at his trial with Pontius Pilate. Who is Barabbas and why is he significant enough to be mentioned in all four Gospels-- Why did Jesus allow this all to happen--

Kevin Patrick teaches from Titus 1.
Why is it important to be reminded of spiritual truths-- As we read the Bible, listen to sermons, do devotionals, etc., we come across the same thoughts and themes over and over again. Is it helpful to have things that we already know repeated to us-- This is the starting point of our discussion today which flows through the rest of what we look at.
As we prepare foe Easter, we are going to look at the agony that Jesus experienced prior to his resurrection. Today we examine the well known prayer of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. How do we learn about this prayer and why is it important for us to know about it-- As we see, Jesus wants us to learn about his intimate relationship with the Father, but also what he chose to go through to reconcile us to the Father.
Today we continue to discuss our discussion on the assurance of salvation. To supplement our discussion, we take a look at what Martin Luther says in his commentary on Galatians on the topic. We may think that this is just a superficial area of disagreement among believers, but that's not the case. Whether or not we can know for certain that God loves us can have huge implications on our lives. If you are struggling with the doctrine of election, Pastor Tim gives a number of resources that you might find helpful.
In the last of our annual Vision series, we talk about persecution. How, exactly, does persecution relate to the mission of the church-- Since the church has been commanded to reach every tongue, tribe, and people, this would going to the unreached nations of the world. Often, reaching these areas results in persecution. How are we to respond-- Does persecution thwart God's mission--
Can a Christian be assured of their salvation-- There are perspectives on this issue, but what we really need to ask is- What does the Bible say-- The Bible speaks on this issue quite a bit, and 2 Peter is one of the places where it is addressed. If we can actually have assurance, how are we able to discern that our we are saved--
What is the church-- Many people think it's a place of religious entertainment- others see it as an organization- but the Bible views it more as a family. With that in mind, as members of this family, how can we serve others out love for Jesus-- And how can we discover where the Lord would like us to serve within the local church--
