This episode I talk with one of my best friends Matt. I've known him for about half my life at this point and we still get along just like we did when we were kids. In this episode we talk about his then upcoming move to New Zealand, what he experienced last time he was there and what he is looking forward to in his next trip. We also talk about warfare, relationships, and many other things. I hope you enjoy the podcast, thanks for listening!
This episode I revisit with my buddy Cole, better known as Nobody$, an artist from Omaha now stationed in Atlanta about how life has been with this new adjustment. We talk about moving out of your hometown and the benefits it has, his various tattoos and their hidden sentiments, and various other topics. Since this episodes recording he has released a 5 song EP titled I've Never Seen Stas Sober, as well as various other singles. His latest track is called weekend mistakes and is available now on Spotify! This video was vaulted for over a year due to personal issues, but expect more episodes from our new studio here soon!
This episode I talk with my good friend Brandhi. She is absolutely outrageous and too funny to put into words. We talk a lot about her relationships and what she has experienced going through life whether it be her parents, her exes, or her jobs. No matter the subject the discussion was fascinating and incredibly entertaining. Sadly the audio on the original recording was tarnished but a backup was salvageable, hence the lower quality. The artist spotlight for this week is none other than the host BaldMike himself! He previews his new song Shark Tank which will be available on Soundcloud and YouTube shortly after this release.
This episode I talk with Cam, a buddy of mine I met playing D&D. Cam is a self described "well of mysteries" and we talk about quite a few things from gun control to his hallucinogenic experiences. We also discuss our experiences during the Black Lives Matter protests here in Omaha after the murder of George Floyd, and our faults while playing Dungeons and Dragons. The Omaha artist Spotlight for this episode features ZayStayTurnt, a local artist who shows off a clip from his single No Hook available on YouTube and Soundcloud now!
This episode I talk to Nobody$, an artist who has been on the shows spotlight before and someone I've known since middle school. He's been making big moves in his music career this past year or two and we get to talking about what is next in store for him when he makes his move down to Atlanta. Of course we diverge into other topics like the future of technology, speculation on aliens, and how we've grown as people through our experiences. The local artist shoutout for this week is my good friend Matter4k aka Matxyz. We end off the episode with a sneak peek at an unreleased song of his that is part of a project dropping later this year. Enjoy!
In this episode I sit down with Becky, an old friend of mine that I haven't seen in years after she moved down to Florida. It was very nice to catch up with her and talk about how she's been doing after getting out of her long term relationship, her plans for her move to New Jersey, and trading embarrassing first date stories. Sadly this episode my audio was messed up as well but I managed to save more this time than last, this issue has since been resolved and shouldn't reappear anytime soon. The artist spotlight this week is Becky herself! She is a photographer and loves making inspirational and reflective pieces using her surroundings to highlight the beauty in the statements. You can find her work on Instagram at beckyjohsnon.jpg
In this episode I talk with my long time friend Anthony Grey. He's an artist out of Omaha Nebraska and has been featured on our artist Spotlight before. This last year has shown him exponentially more success in his music career than the previous so I got the opportunity to talk shop with him and see what he's learned and what he has experienced. Sadly the episode is cut short as my microphone started scratching through the recording, but we've salvaged what we could. This episode's local artist shoutout is to Lil Mar. He's making music out of Lincoln Nebraska and has recently released an EP with Nobody$ called Blue Whitney out on Spotify now!
This episode I talk with my older sister Kelsey. She is a mother and a small business owner but this episode isn't about plugging her or praising her, it is simply glimpse into our relationship and how we get along. She ended up bringing her own questions to ask me and they caught me off guard that's for sure. We even get a surprise appearance from my niece! This weeks artist appreciation goes to Jey Schroeder, a wildlife photographer from Blair, Nebraska who was actually on the first four episodes! You can find their work at jeyschroeder.com
In this episode we talk with my good friend Bailey. I've known him for quite a while and find his company to be one that I cherish. I view Bailey as an intelligent individual with incredibly unique life experiences that puts his perspective at an angle that provides insights to things I never would have thought of. I absolutely love talking with this man. This episodes Omaha Artist Spotlight actually highlights a Lincoln-native who goes by JAKAL. JAKAL makes some pretty chill almost lofi style beats and he previews his newest EP at the end of the episode so make sure you check it out!
In this episode we talk with my buddy Charlie. I've known him for quite awhile as he is actually related to one of my best friends Ben who was on an earlier episode. We talk about his view of faith and spirituality as well as his thoughts on the afterlife and a little on poetry and conspiracies but you'll just have to listen to find out!
In this episode we talk with my younger brother Daniel about food for basically the whole time. It's rather fitting however as he is currently in school pursuing a culinary degree and finally at a restaurant where he feels valued and is able to practice his craft to a better degree than what he had previously experienced. Also a lot of tal about some recent movies and TV shows with some mild spoilers so to those that read the descriptions here is your warning! The Omaha artist spotlight for this episode shines the light on Keeda and showcases his newest song A-Team out now on all platforms.
In this episode we talk with my older brother Tyler. He's currently incarcerated in a Minnesota prison so the audio quality isn't the best as it's a phone call on speaker but ultimately everything went rather smoothly! We talk about why he's locked up, what he does and what he thinks about, how Covid-19 was for him inside as well as reflecting on the past a bit. We also have the third iteration of the Omaha Artist Spotlight highlighting Kevin Paradise and including the beginning snippet of his newest song Purge which is available on all platforms.
In this episode my guest is one of my best friends Ben Morrissey. I've known this man since seventh grade and we've shared many memories together so I was glad to get him on the pod. We talk about a wide range of things from dogs being used as bombs during the Soviet times to the fights we witnessed while attending high school. The Omaha Artist Spotlight makes its second appearance at the end highlighting Anthony Grey, another long time friend of mine who has inspired me greatly with his dedication and consistent effort being put into his craft. The episode closes out with a clip from his highest rated song Pay More available on every platform now.
In this episode my guest is my mother, Michele O'Brien. I thought it only fair to get her in here after I brought in my father previously. We had a great conversation about many things including my past and how she met the incredible Jim O'Brien. This episode also marks the start of the Omaha Artist Spotlight segment where I shine a light on a local artist, and this weeks artist is Darrick Smith aka DRS who is a producer that happened to make the intro music for this very podcast! Here more about him at the tail end of the episode!
In this episode my guest is my father Jim O'Brien. Recently we've had some developments in life and I figured this would be a good way to poke my old mans head and see how he's lookin at everything. I really enjoyed our conversation and I think he did too. We got intro music now too thanks to Darrick Smith! Big shoutout to him!
In this episode we are joined by my good friend Gio. The conversations I have with Gio are always fun and usually pretty informative as he is a rather smart individual. I had a blast recording this and talking wit my buddy, and I hope you enjoy listening to us!
In this episode I am joined by my great friend Michael Kennedy. We are testing out a new microphone set up in a new recording studio area with this episode so hopefully that helps rationalize some of the fluctuations you may notice throughout. Ultimately a great time was had, I very much so enjoy talking to Kennedy as I find he can be very insightful and yet very receptive.
This episode was a discussion between Mike and Jey about various topics like the afterlife using a wheel of options they introduce!
This episode is Mike and Jey discussing various things that happened in their past week. Enjoy.
We recorded this episode with a different computer for Jey's audio, so stick with us through our battle to get the perfect quality. In this episode we talk about June bugs and the trauma that we have experienced with them, enjoy!
