Let’s talk about things I’m doing in my garden this month! Hopefully, you’ll get some inspiration for what you can do in yours. It’s a great time to start harvesting your crops and caring for your beloved plants.
Are you interested in foraging? Here’s some quick tips to get you started foraging. Always be aware of any toxic look alikes and be careful! Familiarize yourself with some basic botany principles to help you differentiate between species. Join a club or group to learn how to identify plants. Most importantly, always leave enough for other animals to enjoy and the plant to survive next year!
May is wrapping up and June will be here before you know it! What can we do in our gardebs to help them thrive? June is a time when we start to see a lot of pests pop up, so keep an eye out for any squash bugs or June Beetles! Don’t forget to weed your garden and deeply water your plants too. Happy planting!

I’ve been saying I’m going to give you an update on my garden projects, and I finally am! I’ve been hard at work 👩‍🌾 and everything is coming together beautiful! There’s been a few hiccups, but nothing we can’t handle.
Now that we have discussed composting and nutrient toxicities and deficiencies lets talk about fertilizers. I’m hoping you have done a soil test by now and have a good idea on what your soil pH is, what the nutrient content of your soil is and what your soil needs. Let's talk about what to do next! Choosing the right fertilizer can be a daunting task with so many different NPK values and different types of fertilizer like organic and synthetic. The options can be confusing, but with a little bit more information you can make a choice that is best for you and your plants!
Now that we've talked about composting, garden planning, seed starting and everything to get started in your garden let's chat about what plant deficiencies and toxicities are and what to look for.
