Without a director attached yet, it’s unclear whether this film will be a part of the Matt Reeves The Batman/Penguin crime Elseworld, though Gunn referred to it as a DCU film. Currently slated for a September 2026 release, Flanagan previously described it as a horror/thriller/tragedy while expressing interest back as early as 2021.

In a final marketing push ahead of its December 3 premiere, Lucasfilm released final art, a poster, and a new trailer for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The series, which is helmed by Spider-Man filmmaker Jon Watts, is an Amblin Entertainment-inspired coming of age tale that follows four youths who embark on a swashbuckling adventure with unexpected revelations. The trailer is in keeping with what we’ve seen from the series thus far, which is to say it feels tonally divergent from anything we’ve seen in Star Wars before, including new species, planets, and a synth-pop heavy score.
