Irene butter is a holocaust survivor, and professor emeritus in the school of public health at the University of Michigan. She is a founder of the Raoul Wallenberg awards and lecture series, and is the author of acclaimed novel Shores beyond Shores: From Holocaust to Hope my True Story. She has received the highest non-military award given by the government of Germany, the Anne Frank award, and was recently knighted by the government of Holland. As a German Jew born in 1930 she was witness to the horrors of nazism, totalitarianism and the Jewish holocaust and was one of the last people to see Anne Frank alive. She continues to teach, work with the Raoul Wahlberg series, and bear witness to middle school and high school classes.

Suzanne Nagel is the founder and owner of the Om Lounge yoga studios in the Strip and East Liberty. She is a mother, teacher, and leads retreats around the world. Montana Mitchell (@MontiFresh ) is a dynamic yoga instructor and podcaster who came to Pittsburgh originally to study dance at Point Park. She has become one of the cities’ most demanded teachers with high energy classes at YogaSix and Yoga Flow. Her offerings have grown to include a busy collaboration with ‘The Retreat’ and ‘The Yoga Chat’ a podcast which has become one of the biggest in the 412 which she cohosts alongside May McReery ( @MayBelle13 ). Mr. Money Well Spent, Blakk Steel is as real as they get when it comes to the Burgh. He was born and raised in the Hill district, narrowly avoiding a life of crime when his gangster friend handed him a technics 1200 turntable instead of a bag to hold. A highly respected originator of the hip hop sound of Pittsburgh on the air for decades combined at WPTS and WAMO he went on to found the internationally recognized ‘Underground Hip Hop Video Magazine’ which was nominated for billboard awards. Yoga Ralph is a former gangster yogi who is cohost of one of pittsburgh’s most successful podcasts the ‘anybody can do this show.’ He hosts popular sound baths, also has his reiki training and curates energy healing experiences in McKeesport and Irwin. Ivan Gil-Silva is a force to be reckoned with. He runs a mobile sound company as one of the cities top live sound engineers, has built and operated multiple recording studios, is a talented musician of his own right, and is now focusing on his brick and morter restaurant in the heart of Lawrenceville ‘Mi Empanada.’ He started the restaurant concept from the kitchen of his Southside apartment as a way to feed family and friends. As an immigrant from Cordoba, Argentina at the age of 16 making empanadas is the continuation of a family tradition. The child of research scientists at CMU he settled in Squirrel Hill and attended Alderdice and then Duquesne. We discuss his upbringing, the Pgh restaurant scene, and he gave pointers on what it takes to make it in both the food and music business.
