Heather Teague was just 23 years old when she was abducted from the banks of the Ohio River in Kentucky in August of 1995. Despite having a witness who saw the entire abduction, Heather remains missing. Though the Kentucky State Police have told Heather’s mother that her daughter’s abductor is dead, she believes there is much more to the case than investigators are willing to admit.

We're diving into a story that's currently unfolding in real time. But this time we have a special guest to join us to do that. This case is out of Memphis and is raising serious questions about the criminal justice system, eyewitness reliability, and what happens when new evidence emerges decades later. Our guest today is investigative journalist Stephanie Tinsley, whose recent work with the Tennessee Innocence Project has shed new light on the 2007 conviction of a man for the murder of Danny Harris. A case many thought was closed until 2023 when new evidence came to light. Stephanie is also the creator and host of "Everything They Missed." A limited podcast series re-examining the case, but our focus today isn't just her podcast. It's the investigation behind it, the ethical implications of wrongful convictions, and what it really means when a justice system tries to correct itself, or fails to.

In April of 2010, high school student Ali Lowitzer disappeared after getting off her school bus in her hometown of Spring, Texas. Her parents wonder if she was abducted and forced into the world of human trafficking, but the case has gone cold leaving Allie‘s loved ones with thousands of unanswered questions and no answers. Will Ali ever be found and will her family ever get the answers that they’ve tirelessly and relentlessly searched for?
At the time of her disappearance, 16-year-old Ali Lowitzer was 5’2 and 145 pounds. She was wearing a white t-shirt or spaghetti-strap top with a gray hooded zip-up sweatshirt, black and white skinny jeans, and black sneakers. She had a blue LG/AT&T slide cell phone and a multicolored checkered backpack with a dark colored strap. Ali has blue eyes and brown hair that had been dyed dark red. Her nicknames are Ali, Alex, and AJ. She has pierced ears and nose and pink braces on her teeth. As of this episode airing, Ali would be 31 years old. A Grayson County Grand Jury has indicted the driver, Cory Todd Foster, on a manslaughter charge in connection with Katie’s death in 2020. The district attorney’s office confirmed there is probable cause that Foster recklessly caused her death. This indictment marks a significant step forward in the pursuit of justice for Katie and her family.

Just 14 years old. A shy girl. A cheerleader. A member of the school band. One warm summer night, she told her older brother she was walking to a friend’s house for a sleepover. She never showed up. A podcast with dismal sound - and instead of shownotes, the listener is being told to "RATE us with 5 stars, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE"...?! Um, no.
I love this podcast but this was not one of their best episodess. They did a rather poor job of telling Diane Downs' story; they glossed over most of the important parts. The quick, disjointed way the info was presented was rather uncharacteristic.
