Description

I read my findings/stories after doing research about the events, histories and stories from the Qur'an. And I also gather some hadiths that go along with it (either Sahih, Hassan or Da'if but mainly from Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim). Initially, I started this in my YouTube channel to help my daughter to understand what Islam is all about. But then I realized that there're so much that I, myself were not even aware of. In our daily hectic life, I pray that this 'Podcast' can help us all to remember why we are here in the first place. “Laa ilaha ilallah, Muhammadan ‘Abduhu wa Rasuluh”

They adjust the sanctity one year and uphold it in another, only to maintain the number of months sanctified by Allah, violating the very months Allah has made sacred. Their evil deeds have been made appealing to them. And Allah does not guide the disbelieving people. ]

And they had no fault except that they believed in Allah, the Almighty, Worthy of all praise! To Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. When he and the (remaining) faithful with him crossed the river, they said, “Now we are no match for Goliath and his warriors.” But those (believers) who were certain they would meet Allah reasoned, “How many times has a small force vanquished a mighty army by the Will of Allah! They said, "And why should we not fight in the cause of Allāh when we have been driven out from our homes and from our children?" But when battle was prescribed for them, they turned away, except for a few of them. If We had willed, We would have elevated him with Our signs, but he clung to this life—following his evil desires. His example is that of a dog: if you chase it away, it pants, and if you leave it, it (still) pants. This is the example of the people who deny Our signs. So narrate (to them) stories (of the past), so perhaps they will reflect. What an evil example of those who denied Our signs! They (only) wronged their own souls. ] - Surah Al Baqarah 2, verse 243 : [ Have you (O Prophet) not seen those who fled their homes in the thousands for fear of death? He said to the sun, ‘You are commissioned and I too am commissioned. O’ Allah, withhold it back for sometime.’ So it was held back till Allah helped him conquer the town. Then they all gathered the spoils of the war and a fire then came to eat the spoils but did not eat it. The Prophet then said, ‘There is a person among you who has cheated from the spoils.’ He then asked one man from each tribe to come forward and make a pledge to him. They all came and pledged to him except one man, his hand got stuck to the hand of the Prophet. The Prophet said, ‘The person who cheated is from your tribe, so order everyone of your tribe to make a pledge to me.’ They came and when they offered their pledge to him, the hands of two or three people got stuck to the Prophet’s hand. So he said, ‘You are the people who cheated and took from the spoils of war.’ So they gave gold, equivalent to the head of a cow. They put it together with other spoils and the fire came and ate it all. The spoils of war were not permissible for anyone before us. But when Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala saw our weakness and inability, He purified it for us.”

Only the Qur'an is the absolute authentic text which has remained intact throughout. Al Qur’an is the word of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى and Hadiths are just for our reference. May we receive mercy from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala and also receive guidance to gather sufficient supplies so that we are safe and comfortable in Mahsyar facing Allah SWT being entered into heaven by Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala without reckoning and also punishment. Surah mentioned : - Surah Al Baqarah 2, verse 246 : [ Have you not considered the assembly of the Children of Israel after (the time of) Moses when they said to a prophet of theirs, "Send to us a king, and we will fight in the way of Allāh". He said, "Would you perhaps refrain from fighting if battle was prescribed for you?" They said, "And why should we not fight in the cause of Allāh when we have been driven out from our homes and from our children?" But when battle was prescribed for them, they turned away, except for a few of them. And Allāh is Knowing of the wrongdoers. ] - Surah Al A’raf 7, verse 138 : [ We brought the Children of Israel across the sea and they came upon a people devoted to idols. They demanded, “O Moses! Make for us a god like their gods.” He replied, “Indeed, you are a people acting ignorantly! ] - Surah Al Maidah 5, verse 21 - 23 : [ O my people! Enter the Holy Land which Allah has destined for you (to enter). And do not turn back or else you will become losers.” They replied, “O Moses! There is an enormously powerful people there, so we will never (be able to) enter it until they leave. If they do, then we will enter!” Two God-fearing men—who had been blessed by Allah—said, “Surprise them through the gate. If you do, you will certainly prevail. Put your trust in Allah if you are (truly) believers.” ] - Surah Al Maidah 5, verse 24 : [ (Yet) they said, “O Moses! (Still) we will never enter as long as they remain there. So go—both you and your Lord—and fight; we are staying right here!” ] - Surah Al Maidah 5, verse 25 - 26 : [ Moses pleaded, “My Lord! I have no control over anyone except myself and my brother. So set us apart from the rebellious people.” Allah replied, “Then this land is forbidden to them for forty years, during which they will wander through the land. So do not grieve for the rebellious people.” ] - Surah Al A’raf 7, verse 161 - 162 : [ And (remember) when it was said to them, “Enter this city (of Jerusalem) and eat from wherever you please. Say, ‘Absolve us,’ and enter the gate with humility. We will forgive your sins, (and) We will multiply the reward for the good-doers.” But the wrongdoers among them changed the words they were commanded to say. So We sent down a punishment from the heavens upon them for their wrongdoing. ] Hadith mentioned : - Sahih al-Bukhari 3403 : Book 60, Hadith 76 Narrated Abu Hurayrah RadhiAllahu anhu : Allah's Messenger Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "It was said to Bani Israel, Enter the gate (of the town) with humility (prostrating yourselves) and saying: "Repentance", but they changed the word and entered the town crawling on their buttocks and saying: "A wheat grain in the hair." -Sahih Muslim 2218c : Book 39, Hadith 126 Chapter: The Plague, Ill Omens, Soothsaying And The Like Usama reported Allah's Messenger Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam as saying : Plague is a calamity which was inflicted on those who were before you, or upon Bani Isra'il. So when it has broken out in a land, don't run out of it, and when it has spread in a land, then don't enter it.
Surahs mentioned : - Surah Al Anfal 8, verse 1 : [ They ask you (O Muḥammad Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam) about the spoils of war. Say, “The spoils are for Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala and the Messenger Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam.” So fear Allah and adjust all matters of difference among you, and obey Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala and His Messenger Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam if you are believers. ] - Surah Al Anfal 8, verse 12 : [ (Remember, O Prophet,) when your Lord revealed to the angels, “I am with you. So make the believers stand firm. I will cast terror into the hearts of the disbelievers. So strike their necks and strike their fingertips.” ] - Surah Al Anfal 8, verse 19 : [ If you (Meccans) sought judgement, now it has come to you. And if you cease, it will be for your own good. But if you persist, We will persist. And your forces—no matter how numerous they might be—will not benefit you whatsoever. For Allah is certainly with the believers. ] - Surah Al Anfal 8, verse 48 : [ But when the two armies sighted each other, he (Satan) turned on his heels and said, “Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Indeed, I see what you do not see; indeed I fear Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.” ] - Surah Al Anfal 8, verse 67 - 68 : [ It is not fit for a prophet that he should take captives until he has thoroughly subdued the land. You (believers) settled with the fleeting gains of this world, while AllahSubhanahu wa ta'ala’s aim (for you) is the Hereafter. Allah is Almighty, All-Wise. Had it not been for a prior decree from Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, you would have certainly been disciplined with a tremendous punishment for whatever (ransom) you have taken. ] - Surah Ali ‘Imran 3, verse 133 : [ And be quick for forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth. ] - Surah Muhammad 47, verse 4 : [ So when you meet the disbelievers (in battle), strike (their) necks until you have thoroughly subdued them, then bind them firmly. Later (free them either as) an act of grace or by ransom until the war comes to an end. So will it be. Had Allah willed, He (Himself) could have inflicted punishment on them. But He does (this only to) test some of you by means of others. And those who are martyred in the cause of Allah, He will never render their deeds void. ] - Surah Al Qamar 54, verse 45 : [ (Soon) their united front will be defeated and (forced to) flee. ] Hadith mentioned : - Sahih al-Bukhari 3984 : Book 64, Hadith 35 Narrated by Abu Usaid: [ On the day of Badr, Allah's Messenger Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam said to us, "When the enemy comes near to you, shoot at them but use your arrows sparingly (so that your arrows should not be wasted). ] - In a book of Mishkat al-Masabih : Book 19, Hadith 169 Chapter: Fighting in Jihad - Section 2 Imam Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted that Sayyidinā ‘Ali RadhiAllahu anhu said: [ At the battle of Badr 'Utba b. Rabi'a came forward followed by his son and his brother and cried out, “Who will engage in single combat?” Some young men of the Helpers responded to his call, but when he asked them who they were and they told him he said, “I have no use for you; I want only my cousins on my father’s side.” Allah’s Messenger Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam then said, “Get up, Hamza; get up, ‘Ali; get up, ‘Ubaida ibn al-Harith.” Hamza went forward to Shaiba, I went forward to al-Walid, and after two blows had been exchanged between ‘Ubaida and ‘Utbah they wounded one another severely; so we turned against ‘Utbah, and when we had killed him we carried ‘Ubaida away. ]

Surahs mentioned : - Surah al Maidah 5, verse 67 : [ Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala will certainly protect you from the people. Indeed, Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala does not guide the people who disbelieve. ] - Surah al Hajj 22, verse 39 : [ Permission to fight back is hereby granted to those being fought, for they have been wronged. And Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala is truly Most Capable of helping them prevail. ] - Surah Al Anfal 8, verse 5 - 6 : [ Similarly, when your Lord brought you (O Prophet) out of your home for a just cause, a group of believers was totally against it. They disputed with you about the truth after it had been made clear, as if they were being driven to death with their eyes wide open. ] - Surah Al Anfal 8, verse 11 : [ (Remember) when He caused drowsiness to overcome you, giving you serenity. And He sent down rain from the sky to purify you, free you from Satan’s whispers, strengthen your hearts, and make your steps firm. ] - Surah Al Anfal 8, verse 47 : [ Do not be like those who left their homes boastfully and to be seen of men, and hinder (men) from the path of Allah. ] - Surah Al Anfal 8, verse 48 : [ And remember when Satan made their evil deeds appealing to them, and said, “No one can overcome you today. I am surely by your side.” But when the two forces faced off, he cowered and said, “I have absolutely nothing to do with you. I certainly see what you do not see. I truly fear Allah, for Allah is severe in punishment.” ] Hadiths mentioned : - In Sahih Hadith (Al Anbani), Sunan Abi Dawud 3004 : Book 20, Hadith 77 (which is a long hadith but I’ll just take a snippet of it and the rest, you guys can either look it up online or I may just put it up in the description box, insya allah). Narrated by a man from the companions of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam: AbdurRahman ibn Ka'b ibn Malik reported on the authority of a man from among the companions of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam : The infidels of the Quraysh wrote (a letter) to Ibn Ubayy and to those who worshipped idols from al-Aws and al-Khazraj, while the Messenger of Allah Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam was at that time at Madinah before the battle of Badr. (They wrote): You gave protection to our companion. We swear by Allah, you should fight him or expel him, or we shall come to you in full force, until we kill your fighters and appropriate your women. - Sahih Hadith (Darussalam) by Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3756 : Book 49, Hadith 153 (27)Chapter: The Virtues Of Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas, May Allah Be Pleased With Him, And The Name Of Abi Waqqas Is Malik Bin Wuhaib Narrated by 'Aishah RadhiAllahu anha: "The Messenger of Allah Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam did not sleep one night upon arriving in Al-Madinah. So our Prophet said: 'If only a righteous man would guard me tonight.'" She said: "So we were like that, when we heard the clanging of weapons. He said: 'Who is that?' So the man said: 'Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas.' So the Messenger of Allah Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam said: 'What has brought you here?' Sa'd said: 'Fear for the Messenger of Allah Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam came upon me, so I came to protect him.' So the Messenger of Allah Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam supplicated for him, then slept." - Sahih al-Bukhari 4609 : Book 65, Hadith 131, narrated by `Abdullah (ibn Masud): [ On the day of Badr, Al-Miqdad said, "O Allah's Messenger Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam! We do not say to you as the children of Israel said to Moses Alaihissalam, 'Go you and your Lord and fight you two; we are sitting here, but (we say). "Proceed, and we are with you." That seemed to delight Allah's Messenger Sallallāhu 'alaihi wa sallam greatly. ]

I have settled some of my offspring in a barren valley, near Your Sacred House, our Lord, so that they may establish prayer. So make the hearts of ((believing) people incline towards them and provide them with fruits, so perhaps they will be thankful. ] Hadith mentioned : - Sahih al-Bukhari 3364 : Book 60, Hadith 38 Chapter: And Allah's Statement: "... hastening." Narrated Ibn `Abbas RadhiAllahu anhu : The first lady to use a girdle was the mother of Ismail. She used a girdle so that she might hide her tracks from Sarah. Prophet Ibrahim ‘alayhi al-salām brought her and her son Ismail while she was suckling him, to a place near the Ka`bah under a tree on the spot of Zamzam, at the highest place in the mosque. During those days there was nobody in Makkah, nor was there any water. So he made them sit over there and placed near them a leather bag containing some dates, and a small water-skin containing some water, and set out homeward. Ismail's mother followed him saying, "O Prophet Ibrahim ‘alayhi al-salām! Where are you going, leaving us in this valley where there is no person whose company we may enjoy, nor is there anything (to enjoy)?" She repeated that to him many times, but he did not look back at her. Then she asked him, "Has Allah ordered you to do so?" He said, "Yes." She said, "Then He will not neglect us," and returned while Prophet Ibrahim ‘alayhi al-salām proceeded onwards, and on reaching the Thaniya where they could not see him, he faced the Ka`bah, and raising both hands, invoked Allah saying the following prayers: 'O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring dwell in a valley without cultivation, by Your Sacred House (Ka`bah at Makkah) in order, O our Lord, that they may offer prayer perfectly. So fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and (O Allah) provide them with fruits, so that they may give thanks.' Ismail's mother went on suckling Ishmael and drinking from the water (she had). When the water in the water-skin had all been used up, she became thirsty and her child also became thirsty. She started looking at him (i.e. Ismail) tossing in agony; She left him, for she could not endure looking at him, and found that the mountain of Safa was the nearest mountain to her on that land. She stood on it and started looking at the valley keenly so that she might see somebody, but she could not see anybody. Then she descended from Safa and when she reached the valley, she tucked up her robe and ran in the valley like a person in distress and trouble, till she crossed the valley and reached the Marwa mountain where she stood and started looking, expecting to see somebody, but she could not see anybody.
