Nano went back to the UK briefly for a family wedding which sparked the theme for this episode. Does the superyacht industry ruin the fun and excitement of travelling? The yachties globe-trotting nomadic lifestyle might seem appealing, but what used to be reserved for holidays is now so often that it feels stressful, inconvenient and a hassle! They discuss going 'home' - having to cram so much in, not wanting to offend friends & family by missing them out, being careful not to sound like you're bragging about the things you have done, putting up with people just thinking you're on a permanent holiday and how nothing has changed but yet everything has changed! They also give you the reality of the cost of being in this travelling industry, such as missing significant events. The skipper very nearly missing his mothers wedding and even taking an entire season off so that he could give his sister away at her wedding! It's not just about fitness and working out. Nano discuss all-round physical health while yachting. Keeping healthy should be everyones priority but we know how busy and hectic the superyacht season can be. Fitness is extremely important to Greenie so hear how she deals with workouts while at sea. It can be a really physical job for both the interior and the exterior crew, so listen for the troubles this career can cause on your health, including collapsed arches, varicose veins and dermatitis! We should get Danger Pay!!! Nutrition is given some air time too. Raw liver for breakfast and only eating pasta in Italy are mentioned. Sleep is crucial! Getting rocked to sleep by the swell is great, but your Hours of Rest sheet might show you don't always get the opportunity.
