This super-sized season premiere episode is a conversation with Erika Galindo and Mads Clendening about what happened on abortion at the Texas Legislature earlier this year. They’ll update you on the complex (and still-changing landscape) of abortion access in Texas, highlighting the challenges and legislative changes that have brought us to where we are now. We’ll also talk about the importance of reproductive justice, the role of abortion funds, and the need for community engagement and solidarity in the fight for abortion rights. The conversation also touches on the recent history of abortion access, including explaining how abortion was banned in Texas even before the end of Roe v. Wade. Here is a list of resources, information, and organizations mentioned in the episode: NeedAbortion.orgINeedAnA.comProPublica’s reporting on the death of Tierra Walker Petition: Investigate Texas’s Maternal Death Crisis Now
Welcome to another episode of Gaslit, where your hosts Shae and Ivania welcome Taja Lindley from All Options for a conversation about what it takes to show up for pregnant and parenting people. This wide-ranging conversation digs into the connections between compassion, listening, and silence. We’ll talk about what person-centered care means and why the framework of reproductive justice shows us how we can navigate the contradictions and messiness that are part of all of our lives. You can learn more about All Options at all-options.org and connect with Taja at BlackWomensLabor.com.
Join us for an episode dedicated to yapping all about abortion on TV. Your hosts Erika and Shae welcome Blanca and Ivania from the Lilith Fund team to share the abortion on TV moments that had the biggest impact on them. We agree that self-care can sometimes look like chilling out and watching TV. But what happens when abortion pops up in the plot?  If you love TV and are also being real about abortion, this episode is for you. We’ll take a close look at the abortions on Degrassi, Sex and the City, Heartbreak High, and Grey’s Anatomy. We also hit on The Ultimatum, Love is Blind, and the film Unpregnant. We want to know about the abortion storylines that made an impact on you, too!

In this episode of Gaslit, we’re bringing you an important conversation with Katie Grimmer of SAFE Alliance of Austin, an organization dedicated to fighting sexual assault and exploitation, child abuse, and domestic violence.  Shae welcomes a special guest host Ivania to talk with Katie about how abortion bans actually put survivors of interpersonal violence (IPV) in greater danger. In a world where up to 20 percent of pregnant people experience violence while pregnant, this conservation is critical. Shae, Ivania, and Katie also discuss the concept of safety planning and why emotional safety matters, too.  You’ll learn how interpersonal violence is a reproductive justice issue and why the practice of getting and giving consent has the power to build a better future for us all. Content warning: This episode discusses topics pertaining to sexual assault, domestic violence, trafficking, and endangerment of minors.

Over the river and through the woods… for an abortion? Unfortunately, that is the reality for Texans who need to access abortion care. That’s where practical support abortion funds come in. These organizations go above and beyond to get Texans where they need to go even as we continue to live under an extreme abortion ban. And while the workload is heavy (in more ways than one) the team at Fund Texas Choice joins us in this episode to share how they stay resilient, and even have some fun, as they do their life-saving work. We’ll talk about the future FTC envisions for Texans — one where we can all find healthcare, healing, and bodily autonomy close to home.  The views shared by guests of this podcast are those of the individual speakers and not necessarily those of Lilith Fund or any organization or group that speakers may be employed by or affiliated with.
On this episode of Gaslit, we’re joined by Rosie’s Law campaign coordinator, Ana Rodriguez Tenorio, as she lays out why looking to Texas’ lawmaking body as a movement vehicle rather than a destination is important in the long game. She also shares about how fighting for what we want, instead of just what’s possible, starts by making sure abortion funds are in the halls of the Capitol.    The views shared by guests of this podcast are those of the individual speakers and not necessarily those of Lilith Fund or any organization or group that speakers may be employed by or affiliated with.
Welcome back! On this season premiere of Gaslit, we explore what it means to have an abortion on our own terms through self-managed abortion (SMA). We’re proud to welcome our guest, Nancy Cárdenas Peña, Campaign Director for Abortion On Our Own Terms. We discuss what Abortion On Our Own Terms is,  how it started, and their efforts to create Stigma Free Zones. We also examine why stigma around SMA exists even in pro-abortion spaces, and how storytelling and resources can help shift these perceptions. From recent SCOTUS decisions to the broader legal history in the U.S., we connect the challenges faced here to movements across Latin America and globally. This episode is essential for those seeking SMA or hoping to understand what a future of stigma-free, accessible abortion care could look like.  The views shared by guests of this podcast are those of the individual speakers and not necessarily those of Lilith Fund or any organization or group that speakers may be employed by or affiliated with.
