What if your parenting triggers aren’t about your child… but about your past?In this powerful conversation, I sit down with Dr. Hector to uncover the hidden patterns of trauma that quietly shape how we show up as parents. We explore how unresolved experiences can surface as overprotection, heightened anxiety, and fear-based decision making , often without us even realizing it.You’ll learn why allowing children to safely navigate stress, frustration, and natural consequences is essential for building resilience and how stepping back can actually be an act of love, not neglect. We also talk openly about the guilt parents feel when they recognize they’ve been projecting their own fears and how to move through that guilt with awareness, compassion, and growth. If you’ve ever wondered whether your reactions are truly about your child or about something deeper, this episode will bring clarity, reassurance, and practical insight. If you would like to know more about Dr. Hector's work, including retreats and issues of his new Magazine, visit https://www.whitebutterflyclinic.com. We are getting real this week, addressing and shedding light on certain realities of autism parents that we often not hear about.Receiving an autism diagnosis for your child can feel overwhelming, disorienting, and deeply emotional. But, most importantly, if not addressed properly, can lead to PTSD, trauma, isolation, and guilt that no parents want to admit to. In this powerful episode of Talk to Danielle, we explore what it truly means to navigate life after diagnosis not from fear, but from clarity, confidence, and even awe.My guest, Theresa Lyons, brings a rare and powerful perspective. As both a medical professional with a strong foundation in science-based research and a mother of an autistic child, she bridges the gap between clinical understanding and lived experience. Most importantly, Theresa shares information on how parents can recover from the challenges to get your life back and what they can do to fully support their child without neglecting themselves. To know more about Theresa's work, visit the Navigating AWEtism platform at https://awetism.net .You can also follow Theresa on social media where you will find loads of videos to help you get the right information.
What if the new goals you are struggling to achieve or you find yourself reverting back to old habits aren’t a discipline issue at all? What if it was a safety signal? In this episode, Danielle explains why we default back to our old ways when we try to create new habits, how emotional safety shapes our habits, our boundaries, and our motivation, and walks us through simple steps to reframe our nervous system to stop seeing a threat when we step out of our comfort zones. In her true nature, she will also show you how to teach you how to model this to your children so that they have a head start on how to recognize the signs that their nervous system is acting out and what parents and educators need to understand before discipline can ever work.In this Self-Leadership Series, Danielle will guide you through what you really need to take control of yourself, because... if you can't lead yourself, you cannot lead others. What signals does your body sends you when you feel unsafe? Start paying attention to how your "lack if discipline" is really telling you.

Some children don’t rush in. They watch. They listen. They take it all in.In this episode, I’m joined by Christine Devane, author of Elephant Beach, for a powerful conversation about supporting shy children and how they teach us about belonging. We explore how to help shy kids integrate into group settings without forcing them to perform, how to guide other children toward inclusion and empathy, and why patience is one of the most underestimated tools adults have.Christine shares the inspiration behind her children’s book and explains how stories can help children understand that shyness isn’t something to fix. It’s something to respect. We talk about giving children the space to observe, feel safe, and join in on their own terms, and how this approach builds confidence that lasts far beyond childhood. What makes this conversation especially meaningful is that these strategies don’t apply only to shy kids. The insights shared here are transferable to any child who feels different, unsure, or on the outside. This episode reminds us that belonging doesn’t come from changing who a child is, but from changing how we welcome them.If you would like to know more about Christine's work, you can follow her on IG @stined13 You can also get her books on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, and on her website at www.christine-devane.com

Expecting a child to take on the adults' responsibilities is not a healthy home environment. This statement will sting for many of you, but that is a fact.Parentification has been a strong pattern for generations making it a reference for how we must raise our children. It is in fact so strong that parents who are now trying to break this cycle are being ridiculed and judged harshly for being "too soft" with their children.Children should be allowed to be children. In this episode, Danielle walks covers the causes that lead to adults expecting their children to take on the parenting role, two types of Parentifications that we often see, the long term effects parentification has on children once they reach adulthood, and what NOT to tell your eldest child.Everyone will see a bit of themselves and their childhood home dynamic in the topics that are being discussed in this episode. Which part resonated with you the most? I invite you to share in the comments if you are called to do so.
