When the name Demolition is mentioned, most fans instantly think of face paint, spikes, and one of the most dominant tag team runs in wrestling history.
But dominance alone doesn’t answer the real question.
Were Demolition truly one of the greatest tag teams of all time, or were they simply the right act at the right moment during the boom years of the World Wrestling Federation?
In this episode of Legends & Champions, we break down the legacy of Ax and Smash — from their record-setting tag team championship run to their place in the evolving history of tag team wrestling.
We explore:
• How Demolition rose to prominence in the late 1980s
• The comparisons with the legendary Road Warriors
• Whether their success was booking, timing, or genuine greatness
• Their impact on the tag team division during wrestling’s golden era
And as always, we finish with the ultimate verdict:
Do Demolition belong in the category of Legend… or Champion?
