Description

Our podcast primarily exists to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and proclaim His gospel. Along with our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world, we confess that our salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to Scripture alone, to the glory of God alone. We are a part of the church, the "bruised reeds" and "smoldering wicks" in whom our Lord delights to save (Isaiah 42:3).

Before launching our new series on false gospels, the Smoldering Wicks Podcast presents the true gospel in 13 minutes.
On Good Friday, Kevin finishes off our series in the Four Servant Songs of Isaiah by breaking down Isaiah 53. After that, Pastor Robert Knuth joins the podcast to talk about finding unity in the gospel for paedobaptists and credobaptists. Finally, we close off with a game of "Hillsong or Love Song" for our Fan Favorites segment and hear another gospel presentation. Enjoy!

In this episode, Kevin continues through the Four Servant Songs of Isaiah by breaking down a part of Isaiah 50; then, he and (our first guest!) Eric Johnson trace the theme of God's sovereign grace through the book of Genesis and close with some sweet, sweet, pickup lines. Buckle up, y'all -- it's a long one this week.
In this episode, Kevin breaks down another "Servant Song" in Isaiah (ch. 49, v. 1-13), answers another fun Bible question, and examines another beloved hymn of the church. Then, he gives his personal "Top 7 Preachers" list and closes with a gospel presentation.
In our debut episode, Kevin breaks down part of Isaiah 42, answers a fun Bible question, and tells the story behind one of the most beloved hymns in church history: “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus." At the end of the episode, he takes on the challenge of assembling a basketball team of Bible characters and closes with a gospel presentation.
