Rasmus founded RareWine 18 years ago back in 2006 from scratch. Now it is one of the leading wine merchants in Europe. Due to the obvious synergies (direct access to producer, broad knowledge of market dynamic etc.), they later founded their wine investment branch called RareWine Invest. During our discussion with Rasmus we touched on many topics. Especially interesting was RareWine's clear focus on Champagne and Burgundy when it comes to investing (yes you heard right, almost no Bordeaux!). He then left us in the dark while blind-tasting the wine he brought to the studio. Tune in if you want to know how wrong we were with our guesses and which wines we tasted. We only want to reveal this much: after the recording we bought several cases of the tasted wine - for investing purposes but also to enjoy drinking some of them. We had that much fun talking that we decided to split the podcast in two parts. The second part will be released soon. Let us know what you think about it!
We are proud to announce our eighth episode, this time our guest was no other than Julian Perry, CEO of wine-searcher.com. We discussed the beauty of wine-searcher being an almost all-in-one platform with some unique features. Have fun with the episode!
Wineauctions have played and still play a huge role in the life cycle of a wine. Did you know that a relatively large part of the buyers at Steinfels auctions are professional wine merchants? Or that more and more younger vintages have been put up for auction recently? We discussed this and much more with Luca Höfer, owner of Steinfels Weinauktionen AG. Let us know what you think and don't forget to rate and share the podcast.

You may have come across the popular saying that many wines improve with age, leading one to believe that storing wine for an extended period would be the ultimate investment strategy. However, are there alternative approaches that offer the potential for shorter-term returns? In our third episode, we discussed this and many other questions with Jacob Ner-David, a founder of VinoVentures and winemaker in Israel. Tune in and get some new insights about investing in wine! In our second episode we talked with Sascha Bäggli, wine merchant and owner of Cave BB, about his wine sources, which customer segment he serves, his take on wine as an investment, his profit margins on sales and much more. Cave BB is a family run wine merchant business with its seat in Zumikon, Strubenacher 6, 8126 Zumikon. They offer a variety of fine and rare wine and have specialized in the trade of wines that are ready to drink. Website: www.cavebb.ch
