This episode was originally scheduled as our second episode of 2024, but after Karen was a guest on The Tommy Tiernan Show, we pushed this episode back to do a behind the scenes of Karen's experience last week.In this episode, Karen and Feargh discuss both old and new traditions and rituals that you find in ceremony today. They explore how you might take the old and make it feel new and fresh for your ceremony, or you might lean into the more traditional style of ceremony, or you might embrace a completely new style of ceremony. It all depends on the couple and what resonates with them.If you have the time and space, we would be very grateful if you could rate, review and subscribe wherever you listen to your podcasts. Karen and Feargh are back for more episodes of Re-imagining Ceremonies, a podcast by Entheos which discusses changing how we see ceremony in the world and also being the change we would like to see in the world.Last year was an incredibly busy and poignant time for Entheos as an organization, and 2024 looks prosperous and exciting.Karen and Feargh discuss the plans for the organisation, moving out of City Sanctuary (entheos' home for the last year), the new training programme structure and their excitement being back on the mic together. If you have the time and space, we would be very grateful if you could rate, review and subscribe wherever you listen to your podcasts. Another topic we have been waiting to explore is baby naming and milestone ceremonies, and we are delighted to have Entheos celebrant Erica Delaney join us to help us understand the place for these type of ceremonies in the world. We talk about bringing creativity to the ceremony, allowing the child/infant to make decisions, the importance of these types of ceremonies and so much more. @entheosireland@baldpriestess@fearghc x @celebratewithfeargh @erica_delaney_celebrant Hosted on Acast. Heteronormativity is one of the major social constructs that Entheos wishes to challenge in the ceremony world. We have wanted to explore the specific issues around this topic that show up for couples in the everyday planning of their weddings and on the day of their wedding, but we have wanted to do it with someone who has or is experiencing the heteronormativity within the wedding industry. We couldn't be happier to be joined by Lisa Nic An Bhreithimh who is getting married next year (YAY!) and is currently planning the wedding. We are so grateful Lisa opened up about her current experience planning the wedding, both the good and the more difficult times. @lisa.nicanbhreithimh@entheosireland@baldpriestess@fearghc x @celebratewithfeargh Hosted on Acast. Enda McGrattan, also known as Drag Superstar Veda Lady (the most beautiful woman in the world in her price range), joins Karen and Feargh to talk about shame, stigma and trauma. They are so generous with their honesty and wisdom as they break down being queer, an artist, an artivist, relationships in all their forms, sex and even sharing some personal stories on their own experience of getting married. Enda also talks about the upcoming HIV/AIDS monument which will be in Phoenix Park to remember and honour all those we lost to AIDS, and also showing solidarity to those living with HIV today. The two artists who were commissioned to create the monument are Anaisa Franco and Michael R. DiCarl. @vedalady@entheosireland @baldpriestess@fearghc @celebratewithfeargh Hosted on Acast. After attending a Queer Death café, organised by LGBT.ie at the Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride Hub, Karen and Feargh share their experience of attending the event and what you might expect if you were to attend a death cafe. Their discussion of the Queer Death cafe leads to chats on grief, end of life choices, fears, thoughts on death and more. Please be aware that there are discussions of death and grief within this episode and some discussions mention infant death, which may be triggering for some. We currently record at our city centre venue, City Sanctuary, and on occasion, we get external noises such as an ambulances as background noise. @entheosireland@baldpriestess@fearghc Hosted on Acast. Karen and Feargh are joined by fellow Entheos celebrant, LGBTQ+ activist and social media presence Ranae von Meding to discuss the importance of community in life and ceremony. Community is another important foundation that Entheos is built upon. Ranae has a religious background as part of her upbringing. She stepped away from the religious background as some of her values did not align with the church she was a member of. However, she missed the community aspect, especially when she welcomed her girls Ava and Arya with her wife Audrey. Entheos has given Ranae a community which she is proud to be part of and celebrates her life and values. Ranae speaks openly about her journey and why community is important to her. @baldpriestess@celebratewithfeargh@ranaevonmeding @entheosireland Hosted on Acast. In the second episode of Re-imagining Ceremonies: A podcast by Entheos, Karen and Fearghal discuss end of life marriages and baby/infant funerals, and the importance of holding that space as a celebrant for families. These two types of ceremonies and being of service during these difficult times are fundamentals of Entheos and training to be an Entheos celebrant. As part of Entheos, baby/infant funerals are held under Lara's Legacy and end of life marriages are held under Grá go Deo. The aim of these community initiatives from Entheos is to take the burden of finance and the burden of decision-making from the families during this difficult time. Please be cautious when listening to this episode as it explores themes around death, end of life marriages and baby/infant funerals. @entheosireland@baldpriestess@celebratewithfeargh Hosted on Acast.
