Change Is A Process

Change Is A Process

2022-12-3032:07

In this episode we discuss the process of change via The Transtheoretical model which is better known as the Stages of Change Model. This model was developed to help individuals who were struggling with addictions. We review the transtheoretical model and apply it to making changes in your life today and going forward. Regardless of the model or theory the message remains the same: "Change does not have to wait, you can change your life change today" New episodes drop every Friday. 00:00 Intro 05:20 Defining Change 07:20 The Stages of Change Model 09:45 The Transtheoretical Model 10:25 Pre-Contemplation Stage 11:55 Contemplation Stage 13:55 Preparation Stage 18:29 Action Stage 23:30 Maintenance Stage 29:23 Denzel Washington's Speech on FailureConnect with us at nstagram https://www.instagram.com/iamtreyevans/?hl=en Instagram https://www.instagram.com/thepeoplesvoicepodcast/?hl=en Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thepeoplesvoicepodcast/ Twitter https://mobile.twitter.com/iamtreyevans Linked In https://www.linkedin.com/in/trey-evans-792402258/#change #goals #dreams #motivation #inspiration #resolutions #process #transtheoreticalmodel #denzelwashington #regrets #purpose #newlife #newbeginnings #unafraid #decide #begreat #treyevans #thepeoplesvoice→FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research

As in person face-to-face gatherings fade, major holidays such as New Year’s Eve, which was once filled with crowded parties and shared countdowns, is now often spent alone or behind screens. As celebrations disappear, the traditions meant to remind us we’re not alone now highlights just how separated we’ve become.#socializing#newyearseve #MidnightAlone #facetoface#DisconnectedTimes#FadingTraditions#LostCelebration→FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
Domestic violence in relationships is devastating at any time of year. Unfortunately, during the holidays, reports and emergency calls related to domestic violence increase significantly. Experts point to several contributing factors, including financial stress from gift-giving, increased alcohol or drug use, and colder weather that leads to more time spent indoors together. No matter the cause, the impact on victims can last a lifetime and, in some cases, can be fatal. In this episode, I discuss domestic violence, the factors that contribute to it, and ways to seek help if you or someone you know is experiencing abuse. If you or someone you know is in a domestic violence situation, help and support are available through the **National Domestic Violence Hotline** at **1-800-799-7233**, or by texting **“START”** to 88788#DomesticViolenceAwareness#EndDomesticViolence#HealthyRelationships#SupportSurvivors#BreakTheSilence→FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
CE raids and expanded immigration enforcement have led to noticeable declines in student enrollment and attendance, particularly among immigrant families. Fearing potential enforcement actions—even when they occur off campus—many parents are keeping their children home or withdrawing them from public schools altogether. As enrollment drops, school districts and educators are now facing budget shortfalls that have resulted in layoffs and reduced resources.#iceraids #immigration #publicschools #enrollment #layoffs→FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
Quiet cutting—the practice of reassigning employees to less desirable roles instead of formally laying them off—is increasingly used as a human-resource tactic in the American job economy. Marketed as “redeployment” or “realignment,” it lets companies downsize without the public backlash or legal exposure of outright termination. While framed as an opportunity for workers to “explore new challenges,” it’s often a slow-motion push toward resignation, allowing employers to trim payroll without paying severance or taking responsibility for the fallout. In this way, quiet cutting exposes how HR strategies frequently prioritize corporate image and cost control over any genuine commitment to employee stability or growth.#quitecutting #layoffs #jobmarket #jobcuts #quitefiring #thepeoplesvoicepodcast→FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
The appeal of Buy Now, Pay Later is undeniable—quick approval, painless payments, and no credit check. But beneath the surface lies a growing risk: missed payments, damaged credit, and mounting balances. U.S. states are increasingly taking the lead on privacy protections as consumer concerns about data breaches, AI surveillance, and personal data misuse grow. States such as California has expanded its privacy laws to ensure fairness and accountability. With federal privacy legislation still stalled, consumers and companies face a complex patchwork of state laws, making enforcement and compliance more challenging, but giving consumers greater control over their personal information than ever before.  #dataprivacy #privacyadvocacy #conusmerprotections #consumerprivacylaws →FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
As families prepare for Thanksgiving, few are aware of the controversial methods the poultry industry has used to contain recent bird-flu outbreaks, including ventilation shutdowns and other mass-culling techniques that animal-welfare groups have condemned as inhumane. At the same time, federal records show that many poultry operations receive substantial government compensation for outbreak-related losses—often totaling millions of dollars. Critics argue that these payouts amount to a form of corporate welfare, propping up an industry whose production practices may contribute to recurring disease risks.→FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
30 + years ago the term digital divide referred mainly to whether a household had a computer or an internet connection. Today, the gap has widened into something more complex—and in many ways more consequential. The new digital divide deepens existing social inequalities. It's no longer just about access to devices, but about the quality of connectivity, digital skills, and the ability to keep up with rapidly evolving technologies.→FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
Grade inflation has become a significant issue at Harvard and other elite American universities, where the average GPA has steadily risen over the past few decades, making top grades increasingly common. This trend also is occuring throughout American higher education, where professors and institutions deal with pressures to maintain student satisfaction, secure funding, and enhance post-graduate outcomes. As a result, grades may no longer accurately reflect academic performance or rigor, blurring distinctions between exceptional and average work.  #gradeinflation #americaneducation #harvard→FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
In many U.S. cities, “driving while Black” incidents— when Black drivers are disproportionately stopped or searched by police — have been rising in recent years. Despite ongoing efforts to promote fair policing and improve community relations, recent data show that the share of Black drivers subjected to traffic stops and issued citations are at a higher rate than white drivers. A recent report out of Baltimore County, MD highlights these persistent racial disparities in traffic enforcement and underscores the need for greater accountability, transparency, and policy reform.→FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
Halloween has its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest season and the start of winter. People believed that on the night of October 31, the boundary between the living and the dead blurred, so they lit bonfires and wore costumes to ward off spirits. When Christianity spread, the holiday blended with All Saints’ Day, eventually becoming the Halloween we know today. But in schools, some people have pushed back against celebrating it—saying the holiday’s spooky or supernatural themes, and its religious or cultural origins, might not be appropriate for everyone. Because of that, many schools now lean toward fall-themed events that everyone can join in on, like harvest festivals or pumpkin days.→FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
Sexual harassment in housing is a serious and often overlooked issue that affects the safety and well-being of tenants, particularly women and vulnerable populations. It occurs when landlords, property managers, or others in positions of power exploit housing as a tool for coercion or abuse, demanding sexual favors in exchange for rent, repairs, or continued tenancy. This form of harassment creates a hostile living environment and violates both civil rights and fair housing laws.#fairhousing #rentaldiscrimination #sexualharrassment #landlordabuse →FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
Organized retail crime (ORC) is becoming a major issue in the U.S., with a sharp rise in thefts from organized groups. Retailers have lost billions of dollars to these crimes, which is pretty staggering. To fight back, stores have ramped up security with things like locked glass cases and keeping high-value items behind the counter. The criminals behind these thefts often know which states have weaker laws, where stealing under a certain dollar amount doesn’t lead to felony charges or heavy fines. Retailers are calling for stronger laws to tackle the problem, but for now,  the shopping experience is becoming challenging.#organizedretailcrime #shoplifting #storesecurity →FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
Automated “ticket-bot” programs have been a persistent problem in the live-event industry, using scripts and fake accounts to grab large numbers of high-demand tickets the moment they go on sale.  These tickets are then resold at inflated prices, shutting everyday fans out. In September 2025, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), along with a group of state attorneys general, filed a major lawsuit against Live Nation and its subsidiary Ticketmaster. The lawsuit claims that rather than stopping these practices, the companies enabled them—letting ticket brokers bypass purchase limits, offering tools like “TradeDesk” to help resell tickets, and profiting from fees at multiple stages of the ticket-buying process. Essentially, the FTC argues that Ticketmaster benefited from a broken system it helped create. →FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA←Youtube Instagram FacebookTwitter Linked In  #thepeoplesvoicepodcast#social issuesCopyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research
