Whilst prayer is such an important part of our lives. The disciples saw this, and they asked Jesus to teach them to pray. But when we become focused on a specific formula and the 'magic key' for successful prayers, and then our prayers don't get answered the way we think they should, we can become discouraged and even start to think that there is something wrong with how we pray. Instead of focusing on "How we should pray", consider asking yourself "Why I pray". Our prayer for you is that as you listen to this message, you will be inspired to explore for yourself why it is that you pray, and in doing so, that your personal relationship with God will go to new heights.
We all need to rest. In this fast-paced world, rest is important. Rest is even God's idea. He worked 6 days and then rested. But have you ever wondered why He wants us to rest? What is the purpose of our rest? In this message, part of a series on the 10 Commandments, Adrian explores the why behind the Sabbath. Our prayer is that this message blesses you today.
Just because we don't live in Bible times, where idols were created to represent gods that people worship, doesn't mean we don't have idols that we need to deal with today. In fact, for many people, the biggest idol is Self, because our desires affect the things we focus on. In today's message, a focus on the second commandment, we look at this, along with many other commandments, through a very different perspective - that of marriage. How does God feel about the idols in your life? Today, it's time to realign your focus onto God.
We all want a life that is empowered by the Holy Spirit, but before we step into that, we need to understand who the Holy Spirit is. It isn't just about living in the power of the Spirit; our focus needs to be on the presence of the Spirit, because it's in His presence where we get to know Him, and from His presence comes His power.
Have you ever wondered what Easter would have looked like through the eyes of Judas, the one who betrayed Jesus? Both Judas and Peter betrayed Jesus but had different outcomes. This message looks at Judas - someone we don't often focus on, but Judas, like the other disciples, not only saw everything Jesus did, he was included in the work Jesus did, but unlike the other disciples, there were some words that Judas never heard.
God has called each and every one of us, but do you know what you are called for? It's easy to think about what God will do 'one day', but He isn't asking us to wait for 'one day'. He is inviting us to partner with him 'to-day'. Our prayer is that this message will impact your life, and challenge you to take up the call, and partner with God for what He has for you to do this very day.
Fasting is something many people admit they struggle with but once we begin to include fasting as one of our spiritual disciplines, and we learn what it is from God’s perspective, it will change our thinking, our outlook, our motivation, our focus, our desire and our effectiveness.
What do you see when you pray? It's easy to speak about what we see with our eyes, but we need to change what we are looking at. Instead of praying about what we see, how would things change if we started to look at what God sees, and speak about that? In today's message, which is a part of the Words Matter series at C3 Hobart, Adrian brings some fresh insight for us to consider when we are praying. Align your vision with what God sees, and pray from that perspective.
Have you ever wondered how to pray in faith? Sometimes, when we pray, we don't always see the answers we are hoping for. Sometimes it can even feel like our faith is failing, or worse still, it can feel like God isn't listening which just isn't true. In today's message, Adrian shares some things you can do to help you stay in a place of faith when you are praying.
Faith is a topic that we can really get stirred by, but what do you do when your faith seems to be failing, and the answers to your prayers seem to be held back? In this message, we look at some of the possible things that are happening when we pray. Our prayer is that you are blessed by this message, and that you grow in your faith, because we serve a God who is faithful.
Many people desire peace, especially with everything we see going on around the world. But what exactly did God mean when He had the angels declare, "On earth peace, goodwill toward men"? This is a very powerful message. You don't want to miss this!
God wants you to do great things for His glory, but in order to stay
balanced and humble before Him, we need to walk in the Fear of the Lord. By fear, we don't mean being afraid of God, but rather, being terrified to be away from His presence. This message is a challenging word on the importance of living in the Fear of the Lord. Our prayer is that this word will challenge you, and lead you to live a life of intimacy with God, like you've never had before.
Unforgiveness is
something Jesus spoke against quite strongly. We aren't called, equipped or
empowered to be judges of people. We are called to be people who represent Him
and bring life to others.
In this message, we hear a powerful, Biblically based
message around forgiveness that will change how you see it. Our prayer is that
you will be blessed by today's message.
A mosaic is an image made of many small REGULAR or IRREGULAR pieces of varying substance, colour and shapes JOINED TOGETHER to create an alternate image”. The church - the body of Christ - can be thought of as a Photographic Mosaic, made up of people like you and me. We all have our place and we all have a purpose. Unfortunately, many people struggle to believe that God could or would want to use them. In this message, we see how God's Word very clearly tells us how much He truly values us. Once you can grasp how much He truly values you, then you begin to see the possibilities of what can be done when you partner with Him. Without a doubt, God really is madly in love with you.
What is your first thought when God asks you to do something that seems impossible? In Jeremiah 1, we see God calling Jeremiah to be a prophet to the nations. Even though he tried to argue with God, He wasn't let off that easily, and through God's direction, he was able to see what God saw for him. This message today will help you grow in your faith and will stir you to begin seeking God for His vision for your life. It's not what we see in the natural that matters. It's what He sees that matters. Do you see what God sees?
Isaiah 40:31 “But those who WAIT on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they
shall walk and not faint.” If asked, most of us would likely want to see a genuine move of God, but are we really prepared to pay the price for that to happen? There are times we feel like we are waiting for God to do something, but more often than not, He is waiting on us. As we prepare to remember and celebrate Pentecost Sunday, this message will help prepare you from a perspective that you may not have considered before - one of 'waiting...'
Everything Paul did, he did with eternity in mind. This message was the final message as Lead Pastor at CityLight Church and is an encouragement for all of us to continue pressing in. Keep running the race until you get heaven, because what God appoints you for He anoints you for. Keep in step with Him, and don't ever give up.
Have you ever wondered why you are going through what feels like a wilderness? In this message, we explore a question so many people have asked - "Why is God allowing this to happen to me?"
When you pray, God isn't bored, or checking his phone for ePrayers that He may have missed. He desires to be with you and He will sit with you for as long as you sit with Him. This message looks at intimacy with God, and how much God wants to be with you.
God is a faith-full God. Regardless of what we see in life, or what we are going through, we can depend on Him for He is always faithful. Sometimes all we get from God is "Trust Me", and as hard as that may be, it's the best thing we can do because He has proven Himself time and time again to always be faithful. Even when we don't understand what He is doing, we can always trust in Him.
