Katie joined our friend Nick and Jess Lee on their podcast "Murder Through The Grapevine" to chat about The Mohawk Valley Ripper.With their permission we're posting the episode as well. The Mohawk Valley Ripper, who's real name way John William Hopkins, a resident of Johnstown NY. His reign of terror lasted from 1972-1978. Hopkins was finally apprehended in 1979 after one of his teenage victims escaped from his kidnapping attempt and ultimately helped to identify him.Hopkins was convicted on 2 murder counts and was also investigated for several other sex crimes in Fulton County. He was sentenced to 25 years-to-life terms but ended his own life in 2000 while he was locked up in Green Meadow Correctional Facilities. We're back on the road with an on location episode for you this time around. Katie, Michele and D. Scott, along with our friends Nick and Jess Lee, stopped by a former funeral home, tobacco shop and now VWF Post in Albany, NY.The William F Wigand VFW has quite the history and is a pretty active location. We talk with one of the bartenders, who shares some of her stories about things that have taken place in the establishment. There are a lot of great stories in this episode and if we're being perfectly honest, it was a lot of fun being back out on location.We did have some interference take place while we were recording.
