HEAR Journaling Job Chapter 23   Highlight Job 23:1-7 New Living Translation Job’s Eighth Speech: A Response to Eliphaz 1 Then Job spoke again: 2 “My complaint today is still a bitter one, and I try hard not to groan aloud.3 If only I knew where to find God, I would go to his court.4 I would lay out my case and present my arguments.5 Then I would listen to his reply and understand what he says to me.6 Would he use his great power to argue with me? No, he would give me a fair hearing.7 Honest people can reason with him, so I would be forever acquitted by my judge.   Explain – Job replied to Eliphaz saying that if he only knew where to find God, he would present his case to Him.  He would listen to the Lord’s reply and understand.  He expects that the Lord would give him a fair hearing and a release from torment.   Apply – When Jesus died for our sins and rose again, He left the Holy Spirit as our comforter here on the earth.  The Holy Spirit indwells us and will never leave us.  Jesus rose to be our advocate with the Father God.  We can pray and appeal to the Lord any time and any place, He always hears our prayers - hallelujah!   1 John 5:14 ESV And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.   1 Peter 3:12 ESV For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”   John 14:26 ESV But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.   1 John 2:1-2 ESV My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.   Respond – Lord, thank You for Your love and provision for me.  Thank You, Holy Spirit, for indwelling me and providing a path unto all Truth, thank You, Dear Jesus for my life and Your gift of salvation and for being my advocate to Father God.  Thank You Father God for all You are and all You do.  I love and worship You, God the three in one!  Amen.   REPLICATE Ministries, What is a HEAR Journal? https://replicate.org/what-is-a-hear-journal/   HEAR Journaling Method https://s3.amazonaws.com/media.cloversites.com/e4/e465d33d-444a-46eb-9922-5cdcb0aaef4d/documents/H.E.A.R_journal_method.pdf   Watch and listen and see if this impacts you too.   Images are public domain or as noted:   New Living Translation with audio, as captured on the You Version Bible App, Tyndale copyright:  https://www.tyndale.com/permissions   YouTube Music – Wager With Angels by Nathan Moore   As always we are focusing on sharing: Pearls of Wisdom… Nuggets of Knowledge… Understanding the Difficult… Instructions for a better life!   2See Media LLC all rights reserved,  Wwww.YouTube.com/@Hear2See Hear2See YouTube Channel brsherwood1953@gmail.com
HEAR Journaling - Genesis 19   Highlight – Genesis 19:14-16, 23-29 New Living Translation Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed 14 So Lot rushed out to tell his daughters’ fiancés, “Quick, get out of the city! The Lord is about to destroy it.” But the young men thought he was only joking. 15 At dawn the next morning the angels became insistent. “Hurry,” they said to Lot. “Take your wife and your two daughters who are here. Get out right now, or you will be swept away in the destruction of the city!” 16 When Lot still hesitated, the angels seized his hand and the hands of his wife and two daughters and rushed them to safety outside the city, for the Lord was merciful. … 23 Lot reached the village just as the sun was rising over the horizon. 24 Then the Lord rained down fire and burning sulfur from the sky on Sodom and Gomorrah. 25 He utterly destroyed them, along with the other cities and villages of the plain, wiping out all the people and every bit of vegetation. 26 But Lot’s wife looked back as she was following behind him, and she turned into a pillar of salt. 27 Abraham got up early that morning and hurried out to the place where he had stood in the Lord’s presence.28 He looked out across the plain toward Sodom and Gomorrah and watched as columns of smoke rose from the cities like smoke from a furnace. 29 But God had listened to Abraham’s request and kept Lot safe, removing him from the disaster that engulfed the cities on the plain.                                                                   Explain – Abraham prayed asking God to spare his cousin Lot and his family from destruction.  God sent angels to warn Lot and ensure that Lot and his family were safe, however there were some people that did not heed the warnings:  1) Lot’s daughters fiancés ignored the warnings and perished  2) Lot himself hesitated so the angels compelled him and his wife and daughters to flee  3) Lot’s wife disobeyed the warning not to look back and she perished.   Through it all God was merciful and saved Lot and his daughters from certain destruction because of Abraham’s faithful prayer.   Apply – There is much to learn and apply in this story.   1)    God’s patience with sinful lawless people is not limitless, He will bring ultimate justice. 2)    When God sends a warning we need to listen and obey without hesitation. 3)    The effective prayer of a righteous person can accomplish much! 4)    God protects His people in the midst of confusion and calamity.   Respond- Lord, thank You for You never wavering faithfulness.  Thank You for listening to the effective prayers of the righteous.  Help me Lord to hear you clearly and obediently follow You through eternity.  I pray for those that are ignoring Your warnings, that they will repent and follow You. Images are public domain or as noted:   New Living Translation with audio, as captured on the You Version Bible App, Tyndale copyright:  https://www.tyndale.com/permissions   YouTube Music – Bach Cello Suite No. 1, G Major, Prelude - Cooper Cannell   As always we are focusing on sharing: Pearls of Wisdom… Nuggets of Knowledge… Understanding the Difficult… Instructions for a better life!   2See Media LLC all rights reserved,  Wwww.YouTube.com/@Hear2See Hear2See YouTube Channel brsherwood1953@gmail.com
HEAR Journaling - Genesis 17   Highlight – Genesis 17:1-8 New Living Translation 1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. 2 I will make a covenant with you, by which I will guarantee to give you countless descendants.” 3 At this, Abram fell face down on the ground. Then God said to him, 4 “This is my covenant with you: I will make you the father of a multitude of nations! 5 What’s more, I am changing your name. It will no longer be Abram. Instead, you will be called Abraham,[a] for you will be the father of many nations. 6 I will make you extremely fruitful. Your descendants will become many nations, and kings will be among them! 7 “I will confirm my covenant with you and your descendants[b] after you, from generation to generation. This is the everlasting covenant: I will always be your God and the God of your descendants after you. 8 And I will give the entire land of Canaan, where you now live as a foreigner, to you and your descendants. It will be their possession forever, and I will be their God.”   Explain – God confirms His covenant with Abram, renaming him Abraham, and promising that all his descendants from generation to generation will be God’s people and will dwell in the land of Canaan.   Apply – God’s covenant, His promise to Abraham is extended to all believers in Jesus Christ as we are all grafted in to Abraham’s family, the family of God.  We will all dwell with God in the New Jerusalem which will be in the land of Canaan.   Galatians 3:29 ESV And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise.   Acts 2:39 ESV For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”   Ephesians 2:11-13 ESV Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.   Revelation 21:2 ESV And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.   Isaiah 65:17 ESV “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.   Revelation 22:14 ESV Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.   Respond- Thank You Lord for Your faithful promises.  Thank You for including me with Your bride, the body of Christ. I look forward to the day that I will leave this sinful world to dwell with You and other faithful followers through eternity.  I pray for those that do not know You, that they will yield to Your unction and become faithful and obedient followers too, Amen.
HEAR Journaling - Psalms Chapter 22   Highlight – Psalms Chapter 22: New Living Translation For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be sung to the tune “Doe of the Dawn.” 1 My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?      Why are you so far away when I groan for help?2 Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer.    Every night I lift my voice, but I find no relief. 3 Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.4 Our ancestors trusted in you, and you rescued them.5 They cried out to you and were saved.    They trusted in you and were never disgraced.   Explain – The Author, David the Psalmist, was at a low point in his struggle.  He asked God why he was abandoned.  He was confused why there was no response from God when David prayed.  He recalls that God did come through for Israel, and had he thought about it, he would have remembered that God was with him when he fought bears, lions, Goliath, and armies.  Silence is a message.   Apply – We must learn that God does sometimes use silence to get our attention.  Perhaps we have been inattentive to our relationship with Him, we may experience silence when we seek Him.  Perhaps we have been disobedient to something the Lord impressed us to do, and He responds with silence to get our attention.  Sometimes, it is just His way to get us to seek Him with all the more fervor. May we not cease our efforts to seek Him.  Just ask Him why am I not hearing You Lord?  Then wait and listen attentively, watch for signs, be comforted knowing that He is always there.   Isaiah 40:31 ESV But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.   Psalm 27:13-14 ESV I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.   James 5:11 ESV Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.   Respond – Lord, thank You for Your attention on me and my house, and all my generations.  I strive to seek You and follow You faithfully and obediently.  I am joyful when I hear Your voice, and will strive to seek You in the time of silent for I know Your silence is for a reason.  Praise You Lord. Images are public domain or as noted:   New Living Translation with audio, as captured on the You Version Bible App, Tyndale copyright:  https://www.tyndale.com/permissions   YouTube Music – The Hardest Part by Jeremy Blake   As always we are focusing on sharing: Pearls of Wisdom… Nuggets of Knowledge… Understanding the Difficult… Instructions for a better life!   2See Media LLC all rights reserved,  Wwww.YouTube.com/@Hear2See Hear2See YouTube Channel brsherwood1953@gmail.com
HEAR Journaling Colossians Chapter 4   Highlight – Colossians Chapter 4:1-6  New Living Translation 4 Masters, be just and fair to your slaves. Remember that you also have a Master—in heaven.2 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. 3 Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. 4 Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. 5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and attractive[a] so that you will have the right response for everyone.   Explain – Paul explains to the believers in Colosse that they should be just and fair to slaves. He told them to devote themselves to prayer with an alert mind and thankful heart.  He instructed them to live wisely among non-believers and make the most of every opportunity to share the Gospel.   Apply – We too should be just and fair to slaves, employees, waiters, doctors, nurses, pastors, etc. – anyone that serves us. We too should devote ourselves to prayer with an alert mind and thankful heart.  We should always follow the leading of the Holy Spirit so that we will live wisely among non-believers and make the most of every opportunity to share the Gospel.   Respond – Lord, I strive to be just and fair to everyone. I strive to devote myself to prayer with an alert mind and thankful heart.  I strive to always follow You faithfully and obediently so that I will live wisely among non-believers and make the most of every opportunity to share the Gospel. Images are public domain or as noted:   New Living Translation with audio, as captured on the You Version Bible App, Tyndale copyright:  https://www.tyndale.com/permissions   YouTube Music – Altheia (Unforgetting) by Devon Church   As always we are focusing on sharing: Pearls of Wisdom… Nuggets of Knowledge… Understanding the Difficult… Instructions for a better life!   2See Media LLC all rights reserved,  Wwww.YouTube.com/@Hear2See Hear2See YouTube Channel brsherwood1953@gmail.com
HEAR Journaling -  Matthew Chapter 1   Highlight – Matthew 1:1-2, 6, 16-17 New Living Translation The Ancestors of Jesus the Messiah 1 This is a record of the ancestors of Jesus the Messiah, a descendant of David and of Abraham[a]: 2 Abraham was the father of Isaac. Isaac was the father of Jacob. … 6 Jesse was the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon (whose mother was Bathsheba, the widow of Uriah). … 16 Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Mary gave birth to Jesus, who is called the Messiah. 17 All those listed above include fourteen generations from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the Babylonian exile, and fourteen from the Babylonian exile to the Messiah.              Explain – Matthew Chapter one has the lineage of Jesus from Abram to Joseph, Mary’s husband the legal father of Jesus.   This shows that Jesus is a legal heir to David by his stepfather, Joseph.   The Bible book of Luke covers Jesus’ lineage from a different perspective, from Mary’s lineage, from her father Eli (or Heli) to Adam.  King David mentioned in Luke verse 32.  This shows that Jesus is the Messiah, descended from King David through both his mother, Mary, and stepfather, Joseph.   Reference Ryrie Study Bible, “The biggest difference is that after David, many of the names are different. It would seem best to explain the difference by viewing Luke’s genealogy as tracing the physical ancestors of Christ through Mary, while Matthew’s genealogy traces the kingly line of Christ through Joseph.”   Apply – The evidence that Jesus is the promised Messiah is evident.  God came to earth as a child, to become a man so that He could make His Good News known to all.  He died for everyone’s sin, then rose again making a way for each person to receive Him as Lord and Savior.   Romans 10:9 ESV Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.   Titus 3:5 ESV He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,   Acts 4:12 ESV And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”   Respond- Lord, thank You for my salvation, for this awesome relationship that I share with You.  I strive to follow You obediently and faithfully.  I pray for those that do not know You as their savior will accept You and follow You through eternity. Images are public domain or as noted:   New Living Translation with audio, as captured on the You Version Bible App, Tyndale copyright:  https://www.tyndale.com/permissions   YouTube Music – Earth Appears by Brian Bolger   As always we are focusing on sharing: Pearls of Wisdom… Nuggets of Knowledge… Understanding the Difficult… Instructions for a better life!     2See Media LLC all rights reserved,  Wwww.YouTube.com/@Hear2See Hear2See YouTube Channel brsherwood1953@gmail.com
HEAR Journaling Job Chapter 2   Highlight – Job 2:1-10 New Living Translation 2 One day the members of the heavenly court[a] came again to present themselves before the Lord, and the Accuser, Satan,[b] came with them.  2 “Where have you come from?” the Lord asked Satan. Satan answered the Lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.”  3 Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil. And he has maintained his integrity, even though you urged me to harm him without cause.” 4 Satan replied to the Lord, “Skin for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life. 5 But reach out and take away his health, and he will surely curse you to your face!” 6 “All right, do with him as you please,” the Lord said to Satan. “But spare his life.”  7 So Satan left the Lord’s presence, and he struck Job with terrible boils from head to foot. 8 Job scraped his skin with a piece of broken pottery as he sat among the ashes.  9 His wife said to him, “Are you still trying to maintain your integrity? Curse God and die.” 10 But Job replied, “You talk like a foolish woman. Should we accept only good things from the hand of God and never anything bad?” So in all this, Job said nothing wrong.   Explain – The Lord asked Satan if he had noticed that Job was still faithful to God despite all the Satan had done to him.  Satan said that if he could attack his health, Job would surely curse God.  So, again God permitted Satan to attack Job’s health, but must not kill him.  Job was infested with boils from head to foot!  Job’s wife even tempted Job to curse God, but Job was firm in his faithfulness to God despite his circumstances!   Apply – We too can learn to trust God in any and all circumstances, knowing that He will be with us through all our adversities.  We will be tempted to cry out and complain to God, or even curse Him, but we must be resolute in our faithfulness.   Respond – Lord, thank You for my salvation and my relationship with You.  Thank You for my Brother Job and his testimony of standing strong in his faithfulness with You.  I strive to abide in You as You abide in me, to faithfully and obediently follow You consistently and continuously withstanding the temptations to turn from You.
HEAR Journaling -  2 Corinthians Chapter 3   Highlight - 2 Corinthians 1 New Living Translation 12 Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech— 13 unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. 14 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. 15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as [b]by the Spirit of the Lord.   Explain – Paul explained that unbelievers have a veil that blocks understanding of spiritual things.  When one turns to Christ as Savior, the veil is removed and that person can behold the glory of the Lord as they are being transformed into the same image as Christ from glory into glory by the Spirit of the Lord.   Apply – We should strive to abide in the Lord as He abides in us.  He will reveal the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and instruction that can only come from Him.  We should choose to operate in and with Him so as to be all we can be in Him.   Respond – Lord I strive to abide in You as You abide in me.  I seek Your wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and instruction that can only come from You.  Help me Lord to be all I can be in You. Images are public domain or as noted:   New Living Translation with audio, as captured on the You Version Bible App, Tyndale copyright:  https://www.tyndale.com/permissions   YouTube Music – 8th World Wonder by RKVC   As always we are focusing on sharing: Pearls of Wisdom… Nuggets of Knowledge… Understanding the Difficult… Instructions for a better life!   2See Media LLC all rights reserved,  Wwww.YouTube.com/@Hear2See Hear2See YouTube Channel brsherwood1953@gmail.com
HEAR Journaling - Exodus 28   Highlight – Exodus 28:1-5 New Living Translation Clothing for the Priests 28 “Call for your brother, Aaron, and his sons, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. Set them apart from the rest of the people of Israel so they may minister to me and be my priests. 2 Make sacred garments for Aaron that are glorious and beautiful. 3 Instruct all the skilled craftsmen whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom. Have them make garments for Aaron that will distinguish him as a priest set apart for my service. 4 These are the garments they are to make: a chestpiece, an ephod, a robe, a patterned tunic, a turban, and a sash. They are to make these sacred garments for your brother, Aaron, and his sons to wear when they serve me as priests. 5 So give them fine linen cloth, gold thread, and blue, purple, and scarlet thread.   Explain – God instructed Moses to set Aaron and his sons to be priests for the Tabernacle and to make specific garments for them to wear when they are serving the Lord and His people in the Tabernacle.   Apply –   God calls each of us to service in some manner, and we are to think, say, and do what the Holy Spirit would direct.  We, the believers that have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are His body for His works here on earth.   1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ESV Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.   1 Corinthians 6:15-17 ESV Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.   Ephesians 3:6 ESV This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.   Romans 12:4-5 ESV For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.   Ephesians 4:16 ESV From whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.   1 Corinthians 12:27-31 ESV Colossians 1:18 ESV Colossians 3:14-16 ESV    Respond – Lord, thank You for my salvation.  Help me to be ever ready for the calling You have on my life.  Help me to be prepared mind, soul, body, and strength. I strive to follow You obediently and faithfully in all things.  Help me remain steadfast in my relationship with You.  I pray for any that do not know You, Lord. HEAR Journaling - Genesis 20   Highlight – Genesis 20:1-7 New Living Translation Abraham Deceives Abimelech 20 Abraham moved south to the Negev and lived for a while between Kadesh and Shur, and then he moved on to Gerar. While living there as a foreigner, 2 Abraham introduced his wife, Sarah, by saying, “She is my sister.” So King Abimelech of Gerar sent for Sarah and had her brought to him at his palace. 3 But that night God came to Abimelech in a dream and told him, “You are a dead man, for that woman you have taken is already married!” 4 But Abimelech had not slept with her yet, so he said, “Lord, will you destroy an innocent nation? 5 Didn’t Abraham tell me, ‘She is my sister’? And she herself said, ‘Yes, he is my brother.’ I acted in complete innocence! My hands are clean.” 6 In the dream God responded, “Yes, I know you are innocent. That’s why I kept you from sinning against me, and why I did not let you touch her. 7 Now return the woman to her husband, and he will pray for you, for he is a prophet. Then you will live. But if you don’t return her to him, you can be sure that you and all your people will die.”                                                                   Explain – Abraham’s wife Sarah must have been a very beautiful woman.  Abraham feared that Abimelech would kill him to have his wife Sarah, so he conspired with Sarah to agree that he would introduce her as his sister.  God, of course, was fully aware of everything that was going on and came in a dream to Abimelech so that he would not have sexual relations with Sarah.  God’s instructions were such that Abimelech would not punish Abraham for his lies, and Abimelech’s people were spared any retribution from God.    Apply – We can learn that we should avoid reasoning with our own mind alone, but to rely on the Lord who’s indwelling Holy Spirit will lead us unto all Truth.  Abraham’s lies could have had a severe impact on Abimelech’s people, as the lies that we tell have greater impact than we can know.  God’s ways are the best ways, no sin is worth the impact that it may bring.   Romans 6:23 ESV For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.   Galatians 6:7-8 ESV Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.   Proverbs 14:12 ESV There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.   James 4:17 ESV So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.   Isaiah 59:2 ESV But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.   1 John 1:9 ESV    Respond- Lord, thank You for You never wavering faithfulness.  Thank You for listening to the effective prayers of the righteous.  Help me Lord to hear you clearly and obediently follow You through eternity.  I pray for those that are ignoring Your warnings, that they will repent and follow You.
HEAR Journaling -  2 Corinthians Chapter 6   Highlight - 2 Corinthians 1 New Living Translation 6 As God’s partners,[a] we beg you not to accept this marvelous gift of God’s kindness and then ignore it. 2 For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you.    On the day of salvation, I helped you.”[b] Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.   Explain – Paul writes to the believers in the church in Corinth explaining that they should not accept God’s marvelous gift of salvation and ignore it.   Apply – We must not ignore Him today either.  There are active negative forces trying to separate us from our living relationship with God.  Paul and his followers were steadfast in their faith and responsibilities as should we.  The Lord continues to love us and grow us, we would be fools not to honor and abide in Him every moment of our lives.   Response – Lord, thank You for my relationship with You.  Help me as I strive to abide in You and with You ever moment of every day.
HEAR Journaling -  2 Corinthians Chapter 5   Highlight - 2 Corinthians 5 New Living Translation New Bodies 5 For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. 2 We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. 3 For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies.[a] 4 While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. 5 God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit. 6 So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. 7 For we live by believing and not by seeing. 8 Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. 10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.   Explain – Paul writes to the believers in the church in Corinth explaining that their earthly bodies will be replaced by eternal bodies that God has prepared for them, guaranteed as He has given the Holy Spirit.  They were instructed to live by believing, not by seeing, with a goal of pleasing God in all they thought, said, and did, knowing that the final reward will be given as it is deserved by how they have lived in their earthly body.   Apply – This is so very true for us today.  Our earthly bodies will be replaced by eternal bodies, that God has prepared for us, guaranteed just as He has given us the Holy Spirit.  We must walk by faith and not by sight, with a goal of pleasing God in all we think, say, and do; knowing that the final reward will be given to us as we deserve by how faithfully and obediently, we have lived in our earthly body.   Respond – Lord, I so look forward to my new eternal body, that You have prepared for me.  I strive to walk by faith and not by sight, with a goal of pleasing You in all I think, say, and do; knowing that my final reward will be given to me as I deserve by how faithfully and obediently, I have lived in my earthly body.  Thank You Lord!
HEAR Journaling - Exodus 40   Highlight – Exodus 40:12-16 New Living Translation 12 “Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tabernacle of meeting and wash them with water. 13 You shall put the holy garments on Aaron, and anoint him and consecrate him, that he may minister to Me as priest. 14 And you shall bring his sons and clothe them with tunics. 15 You shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may minister to Me as priests; for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.” 16 Thus Moses did; according to all that the Lord had commanded him, so he did.   Explain – God gave Moses instructions to assemble the Tabernacle per God’s specifications.  Moses was instructed to bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the Tabernacle, wash them with water, put on Aaron’s holy garments and anoint and consecrate him.  Then they were to clothe Aaron’s sons and anoint them as they did Aaron.  Aaron and his descendants were appointed as the everlasting priesthood.   Apply – We too must be prepared for God’s work.  We present ourselves to Jesus, sinners needing cleansing.  We are cleaned by the precious blood of Jesus Christ that wipes away our sin.  We are indwelt by the Holy Spirit who provides continual anointing and consecration to the worship and work that God calls us to do.  We follow Him faithfully and obediently forever always for an everlasting relationship with Him.   Romans 12:1-2 ESV I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.   1 Peter 3:15 ESV But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,   Luke 21:36 ESV But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”   John 16:33 ESV I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. This gold was used throughout the Tabernacle. 25 The whole community of Israel gave 7,545 pounds[j] of silver, as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel.   Explain – Exodus 38 records the inventory of materials that were used in the construction of the Tabernacle.  Look at the detail and the vast array of materials that were required to build the Tabernacle to God’s specifications.  Look at the people who were involved in the in the construction of the Tabernacle.  Every person from every family from every tribe contributed in some way toward the construction of the Tabernacle.  This expert construction was accomplished by people that had come out of the bondage of Egypt and had physically moved all these materials from Egypt.  God’s anointing was over His people to accomplish this marvelous work.   Apply – God has amazing and wonderful plans for each of us as well.  God does give us our free will to choose which path we will follow. HEAR Journaling - Exodus 35   Highlight – Exodus 35:20-22,29 New Living Translation 20 So the whole community of Israel left Moses and returned to their tents. 21 All whose hearts were stirred and whose spirits were moved came and brought their sacred offerings to the Lord. They brought all the materials needed for the Tabernacle,[a] for the performance of its rituals, and for the sacred garments. 22 Both men and women came, all whose hearts were willing. They brought to the Lord their offerings of gold—brooches, earrings, rings from their fingers, and necklaces. They presented gold objects of every kind as a special offering to the Lord. …29 So the people of Israel—every man and woman who was eager to help in the work the Lord had given them through Moses—brought their gifts and gave them freely to the Lord.   Explain – God asked His people to sacrifice and bring the plunder that they had taken from Egypt to build the Tabernacle and all that would be in it. The craftsmen, both men and women, were given skills to produce the items to be used in the Tabernacle.  They gave of their time and resources freely.   Apply – God doesn’t need our help but graciously includes us in His plans to accomplish more than we could have ever imagined.  Remember, the Israelites were traveling across the wilderness, yet they had all the materials, tools, and expertise to construct the massive Tabernacle and everything in it through the power of God.  We should not doubt God or hold back sharing the time, resources, and giftings that the Lord has given us to accomplish the tasks that He has directed us to do.   Jeremiah 1:5 ESV “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”   2 Peter 1:10-11 ESV Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.   2 Timothy 1:9 ESV Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,   Acts 2:38-39 ESV And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. And the Lord[h] wrote the terms of the covenant—the Ten Commandments[i]—on the stone tablets.  29 When Moses came down Mount Sinai carrying the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant,[j]he wasn’t aware that his face had become radiant because he had spoken to the Lord. 30 So when Aaron and the people of Israel saw the radiance of Moses’ face, they were afraid to come near him.   Explain – The people of Israel were afraid to approach Moses because his face had become radiant from speaking with the Lord.   Apply – We too can profit much by communicating with the Lord. We can benefit ourselves as well as others as the Lord can give us instructions or words of comfort for others.  Others may perceive the love of the Lord in us as we have been in the presence of the Lord.   Psalm 73:28 ESV But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.   1 Corinthians 3:16 ESV Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?   Psalm 27:8 ESV You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”   Romans 10:17 ESV So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.   Zephaniah 3:17 ESV The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.   James 5:16 ESV Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.   1 Timothy 2:8 ESV I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling; 1 Thessalonians 5:17 ESV Pray without ceasing,   Hebrews 7:25 ESV Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.     Jeremiah 29:13 ESV You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.   James 4:8 ESV Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.   Psalm 27:4 ESV One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.   Respond – Lord, thank You for saving me.  Thank You Lord for Your love and compassion. I strive to follow You faithfully and obediently, always forever.  Help me Lord to pray to You effectively.   I pray that anyone that does not know You will come to a saving revelation and relationship with You, Amen. Images are public domain or as noted:   New Living Translation with audio, as captured on the You Version Bible App, Tyndale copyright:  https://www.tyndale.com/permissions   YouTube Music – No 10 A New Beginning by Esther Abrami.   As always we are focusing on sharing: Pearls of Wisdom… Nuggets of Knowledge… Understanding the Difficult… Instructions for a better life!   2See Media LLC all rights reserved,  Wwww.YouTube.com/@Hear2See Hear2See YouTube Channel brsherwood1953@gmail.com
HEAR Journaling - Exodus 33   Highlight – Exodus 33:8-11,20 New Living Translation 8 Whenever Moses went out to the Tent of Meeting, all the people would get up and stand in the entrances of their own tents. They would all watch Moses until he disappeared inside. 9 As he went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and hover at its entrance while the Lord spoke with Moses. 10 When the people saw the cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, they would stand and bow down in front of their own tents. 11 Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Afterward Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua son of Nun, would remain behind in the Tent of Meeting. … 20 But you may not look directly at my face, for no one may see me and live.”    Explain – Moses would meet with God at the Tent of Meeting.  The pilar of cloud would stand at the entrance while Moses met with God “face to face”, speaking as one to a friend.  This seems to contract verse 20 that says no one may look upon God’s face and live.  This is not a contradiction, the reference to speaking “face to face” simply means that God and Moses had a conversation, not that Moses actually looked upon God’s face.   Apply – We are blessed that we too can have a one-on-one conversation, a living relationship with the Lord God.  The Lord will communicate in any manner that He wishes, for me it is most often direct mind to mind communication, instantaneous thought from God.  What a blessing it is to communicate with my Lord God Creator.  You can speak with Him too, seek Him.   Romans 8:26 ESV Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.   Matthew 11:28 ESV Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.   Psalm 145:18-19 ESV The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.   Hebrews 4:16 ESV Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.   Matthew 7:7 ESV “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.   Ephesians 6:18 ESV Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,   Matthew 6:6 ESV 2 Timothy 2:15 ESV Galatians 2:20 ESV  Respond – Lord, thank You for this wonderful relationship that I share with You.  I strive to follow You faithfully and obediently, always forever.  Help me Lord to pray to You effectively.   I pray that anyone that does not know You will come to a saving revelation and relationship with You, Amen.
