When Abby first became pregnant she knew she wanted something different from the cookie cutter hospital birth experience. She hired a midwife, thinking she would provide the support she really desired. The birth of her daughter left her confused and in shock. Abby shares how she healed from postpartum depression and birth trauma, using many of the same skills she acquired on her healing journey of recovery from addiction and trauma. She goes on to have two hospital births, but when she got pregnant with her fourth pregnancy she knew she had to honor her deepest desire to birth in full sovereignty. When God Writes the Birth Plan ~ Mari's Sovereign Birth StoriesHi friends, welcome to The Birth & Rebirth Podcast. I'm your host Tiffany Holmes. In this week's episode, I invite Mari on to the podcast to share her incredible birth stories with us. I stumbled upon a clip of her most recent birth and was just in awe. I was moved by how raw and undisturbed the birth was... how embodied she was in her God-given power. And when I read in the comments that she had birth witnesses surrounding her ~ I was even more impressed that no one stepped in to disturb the sacred moments immediately post-birth. Time stood still for Mari, after she birthed her third baby - it took her 30 seconds to come back to reality and pick up her baby. Most people would have freaked out and disturbed this sacred moment, but Mari so carefully selected who she invited into her birth space - an OB turned Traditional Midwife who genuinely trusts birth. Mari's birth stories are proof that when you surrender to God's design of birth, incredible things happen. And also, that God writes the best birth plans. Mari says she never would've imagine giving birth outside of a hospital, yet she didn't have one baby in the hospital. She tells us about her first birth which was precipitous and happened in the car and her two beautiful homebirth stories. Sometimes we plan our baby’s birth but ultimately God’s plan is superior and always the better one. Today I speak to Joelle as she shares her story of birthing in the hospital for her first baby's birth, feeling unfulfilled she knows she will never give birth in a hospital again, she ends up meeting her husband, finding God, and getting pregnant again...they plan for a home birth with a midwife, but God had other plans for them. She goes on to birthing her baby unassisted, something she didn't know she needed, but was so grateful to experience. Joelle briefly shares about finding God after exiting the New Age.
