Hello Business Besties! In 2024, Anyelis joined the Jefa in Training community as a way to share space with other Latina entrepreneurs and feel supported in her business (especially while navigating personal challenges). Being with other Jefas sparked the idea for a new segment to the podcast that focuses on Latina entrepreneurs - we’re calling it the Empresarias segment for now.
In this inaugural segment episode, Anyelis is joined by the amazing Ashley K Stoyanov Ojeda, author of Jefa in Training: The Business Start Up Toolkit for Entrepreneurial and Creative Women. Ashley is also a business strategist and speaker whose mission is to help underrepresented changemakers grow businesses and create impact. Together, they discuss how entrepreneurship is the great equalizer for Latinas who would otherwise be the lowest paid among all women if they were workforce employees.
Ashley shares her entrepreneurial journey, what led her to write her one of a kind book, money wounds & she’s healed them, and how to build the kind of confidence in your expertise that can generate $30K+ in a month.
Though this segment is for Latina entrepreneurs, anyone can benefit from this authentic conversation about the entrepreneurial journey!

“We can be the first ones to build generational wealth and do that in a healthy way…I want to empower more Latina business owners to elevate their emotional intelligence so that they can make the best hiring decisions and more effectively manage lead other people and be able to execute on their big vision.” - Anyelis

Hello Business Besties! After being in hibernation mode throughout the winter and hitting pause on this podcast as well as showing up consistently in social channels, Anyelis is back to share how she’s managed entrepreneurship while navigating some personally challenging times.
This season of the podcast will focus on Emotional Intelligence - what it is, why it matters in business, tools & practices to raise our EQ and more. Tune into this deeply vulnerable episode to gain key pearls to help you navigate personal challenges while running a business.
Remember, though entrepreneurship can feel lonely and leading people can feel so challenging, you don’t have to do it alone. Let’s POP!
KEY POINTS:
Being in business is a long game; it’s ok to pause, pivot and/or slow down on your big goals in the short term in order to keep growing in the long term
Personally challenging times are charged with many different emotions and if we are not self-aware and process these emotions it can negatively impact how we show up in business and in how we lead
Instead of bottling up emotions and pushing through, we can incorporate simple, self-care rituals that help us feel better so we can lead more effectively
QUOTABLES:
“We tend to define resilience by our ability to overcome difficult challenges, when sometimes resilience is simply about surviving and in order to survive we have to protect ourselves and protection might come in the form of doing less in the moment in order to do more later on.”
“Wherever you are in your personal and business journey, remember that you’re not alone and this too shall pass.”
