A stolen truck, a welfare check, and a pawn shop.
In the fall of 2022, family and friends called the Phoenix Police concerned about the welfare of 79-year-old veteran, Kenneth Peterson.
After a month, police finally made entry into the home and made a grisly discovery.

An “X” on the calendar, a burning pink candle, and $300 in cash.
On May 19th, 2017, 15-year-old Sophie Reeder left her home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was never seen again.
Initially Fort Lauderdale Police thought Sophie was just another teenage runaway.

Where is Sophie Reeder?
Sophie was approximately 5’1” and 100 lbs. at the time of her disappearance, with brown curly hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown leopard print coat, a black dress, red Converse sneakers, and white headphones.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for credible information that leads to the recovery of Sophie Reeder.
Anyone with information about Sophie’s disappearance is asked to call the Fort Lauderdale Police Department at 954-828-6677.

Two pleas, two verdicts, and a work release program.
On February 18th, 1988, a welfare check led to the discovery of four bodies inside the Brom Home in Rochester, Minnesota. Bernard and Paulette Brom along with two of their four children, 13-year-old Diane and 11-year-old Ricky, had been murdered with an axe.
Their 16-year-old son, David Brom, was charged in their murders.
After a two-phase trial, the jury rendered it's verdict.
Thirty-five years later, the Brom case is back in the headlines.

A documented history of abuse, dropped charges, and courtroom outbursts.
In the spring of 2020, seven-year-old Julissia Batties went for a court ordered weekend visit with her biological mother, 36-year-old, Navasia Jones.
She was supposed to return home to her paternal grandmother. But child services enacted a different plan.
Julissia was found months later, deceased in her mother's apartment. Initially, both Navasia Jones and Paul Fine Junior, who was Julissia's half-brother were charged in her murder. But charges pressed against one of the defendants were dropped.

Two failed polygraphs, recovered evidence, and a four-decade long investigation.
As the investigation into the murder of 19-year-old Lisa Au continued, the “second suspect” garners suspicion.
Evidence is recovered that challenges the initial theory that Lisa was murdered by a police officer… or someone posing as one.
Was that recovered evidence an indication of a police coverup?

A trip to the bathroom, speed, and DNA evidence.
Dennis Dechaine takes the stand in his own defense.
This time he has a whole new story as to what he was doing in the woods when Sarah Cherry was abducted and murdered.
Dechaine is ultimately convicted but as he sits in prison, is there new DNA evidence that will lead to his exoneration?

Thank-you
you can find sympathy in the dictionary, between shit and syphilis
as far as the district attorney and his sweeping new measures, even being not a big fan of the death penalty myself, I wonder how badly these other sweeping measures affect justice for victims of crime. I am not wondering "if", I am wondering how badly. I am sure he is part of the same spectrum of misguided mindset that produced the two useless sadists well placed in the child welfare agency that are part of Anthony's story.
so the surviving kids were placed in the care of the same agency responsible for failing their brother to death. I do not feel so good about this. I do not trust that they are being cared for properly, and are in caring capable foster homes such as those can even bee found when needed.
oh JFC at. least two of the higher ups in that child services agency need far stronger consequences than being "disciplined". if only our laws were not so wimpy and useless, so that people in their positions who deliberately fail children to death could do prison time rather than administrative leave, "discipline", and keeping their paid positions. useless sadists actively interfering with the work of others who want to save some lives. RIP Anthony, Gabriel, and the probably countless other little kids failed to death by the useless sadists in that useless agency.
hey I live in the next town over from nashua!
