Description

'Lifting the lid' on the world of the football agent - is it all that it is made out to be, or is there more to a stereotypical 'shadowy' world of alleged 'sharks' and 'cowboys'?

Two experienced practitioners from the football agency world, along with specialist sports and football industry guests, aim to look into the truths, lies and misinterpretations of an industry that is often misunderstood and misrepresented.

From speculation in the football transfer market to football governance and the wider effects of the football agent industry, The Agents Angle aims to 'shed some light'.

Whilst one agency/agent is instructed by a court to pay a former player-client almost 5 MILLION euros in 'compensation', statements from Gianni Infantino in recent weeks criticising the outlay by English Premier League Clubs on agent service fees, but are these claims based on a false narrative? The Agents Angle examines the credibility of the FIFA president's comments, in particular the seemingly unjustified claims that FIFA 'Solidarity' and 'Training Compensation' payments to clubs developing players, are negatively affected by football agent commissions. There is a look at Italy with Italian Sports Lawyer Alessandro Mazzucato on the matter of football agent licensing and regulation, where the landscape although similar to France in that national legislation over-rules FIFA regulation, it also has its own variations in football agent regulations and licensing that agents need to be aware of. Plus a look at FIFA 'backing down' in the face of one legal challenge; and also an examination of the new FIFA Digital Agent ID 'Cards' for FIFA Licensed Football Agents, and whether a seemingly well intentioned initiative from FIFA 'falls short' and potentially leads to unintended problems for NOT JUST agents, through factors such as data-theft and the manipulation by the likes of 'fake agents'. EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com SUPPORT THE SHOW via KoFi ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (01:11) - Unwanted & Shortsighted FIFA Rhetoric. > (02:36) - FIFA President Criticises Premier League Agent Outlay. > (07:19) - The FIFA Fallacy of Agent Commissions Affecting FIFA Solidarity & Training Compensation Mechanisms. > (13:03) - Again FIFA 'Bury Their Heads in the Sand' From Reasoned Commentary on Agent Commissions. > (13:57) - Added Context to Gianni Infantino's Other Comments on Agents & FFAR. > (20:16) - FIFA Seemingly 'Back Down' in The Face of Legal Challenge. > (22:58) - New Anti-'Money Laundering' Announcement Relating to Football Agents > (25:52) - Guest Interview - Alessandro Mazzucato - Update on Football Agent Licensing in Italy. > (27:01) - Applying & Obtaining a Football Agent Licence in Italy. > (35:47) - Exclusivity and Mult-Party Agent Representation in Italian Football. > (37:40) - Advice for the Italian Football Agent Market. > (43:03) - Agency/Agent Ordered to Pay Former Client-Player Almost 5,000,000 Euros. > (45:15) - The 'Law of Agency' and Fiduciary Duty for Football Agents. > (50:48) - FIFA Digital ID 'Cards' for Agents. > (56:06) - Quick Takes - TransferRoom, Polish Agent Fees, Football Law/Agent Conference, Agencies in Portugal, Release Clause Variations (60:02) - Disclaimer. > ====== RELATED LINKS : Gianni Infantino - Instagram Post on Premier League Agent Service Fees > FIFA Agent Directory > EU Money Laundering Update > Concern Over New FIFA Football Agent Digital ID 'Cards' > ====== FEATURED ARTICLES : Premier League agent spending criticised by Fifa boss Gianni Infantino > FIFA reaches agreement in lawsuit seeking to allow domestic club games in foreign countries > Sports agency SEG ordered to pay former client Stefan de Vrij more than €5m: Why the case matters for football > Inter Milan Defender Rejoices Following Court Victory Over Former Agency: “I Hope This Case Helps Other Players > Football agent SEG must pay 5.2 million euros to De Vrij due to a non-transparent transfer deal > ===== SHOW LINKS: SUPPORT THE SHOW via KoFi EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red
The football agent world remains largely confused on the current state of agent regulations. Yet one country that does offer some stability is France, but with that stability also comes strict laws and regulations for all agents operating in the French football market. 'The Agents Angle' is joined by Jean-Baptiste Ginies to highlight many aspects of French law and football agent regulations that agents should be aware of. Also, following the release of the annual agent declarations by The FA (England), it is reported that one English Premier League club paid £75m in agents/intermediary fees in just one year. Yet, is it all that it seems with these reports; or do such reports subsequently raise more questions than answers? EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com SUPPORT THE SHOW via KoFi ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (00:08) - Introduction & French Football Agent Regulations & Agent Fees in England. > (01:09) - Agents 'Taking Money Out of The Game' - A Naive and Tired Statement. > (02:31) - Agents Fees and the Annual Declarations Released in England by The FA. > (04:12) - Club Agent Fees in England 23/24 - A Summary of Key Points. > (11:46) - Trends in the Agent Fee Reports - Not Just Fees But Agent & Club Relationships. > (14:07) - Cost Controls and Salary Caps Affect on Agents and Agent Fees. > (14:59) - Agent Fee Report that is Arguably An Anomaly, Due to The Possible Impact of New Regulations. > (18:26) - Guest Interview : Jean-Baptiste Ginies : Football Agent Regulation in France. > (19:51) - Obtaining a Football Agents License in France. > (23:06) - Overseas Agents in France & Recognition of the FIFA Football Agents License and FFAR. > (27:32) - Allowances to Operate as a Football Agent in France (e.g. lawyers and player relatives) > (29:45) - Penalties & Enforcement for Unlicensed Football Agent Activity in France. > (31:59) - Recognition Between French Football Agent Regulations and FFAR. > (35:19) - Are Reports of Mbappe's Agent Representation Misleading? > (38:27) - 'Unique' French Regulations & Laws That Impact of Football Agents. > (40:00) - Advice for Foreign Football Agents Operating in the French Football Market. > (45:38) - Is the Football Agent Regulation Situation in France More Effective Than Anywhere Else? > (48:54) - The Influence of Multi-National & MAGs (Multi Agency Groups) in France. > (53:26) - Football Agency in France Has Professional Stature. > (54:42) - French Football Agent Regulations; A Model to Follow if FFAR Falls Short? > (56:25) - 'Fake Agent' Investigation in France With The Arrest of the Relative of a Leading Coach. > (63:48) - Disclaimer. > ====== RELATED LINKS : FFF - French Football Federation - Sports Agents > The FA - FA Intermediary/Agent Transactions (23/34) > The FA - FA Intermediary/Agent Fees (23/34) > ====== FEATURED ARTICLES : Chelsea top Premier League for spend on agent fees for 2023-24 season > Chelsea top of Premier League table … for record £75m spend on agents > Chelsea lead spending on agents' fees as Premier League clubs pay out £409.5m > The Son of Christophe Galtier Placed in Police Custody for Alleged Illegal Exercise of the Profession of Sports Agent > Former PSG Manager Christophe Galtier's Son Taken Into Custody Over Fake Agent Allegations > ===== SHOW LINKS: SUPPORT THE SHOW via KoFi EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red
A shocking admission on 'The Agents Angle' this week, which acknowledges the possibility of 'some' logic and 'method in the madness' of FIFA with the FFAR and the cap on agent commissions. Could the increasing US influence on the world of football also be reflected in a changing mindset & approach from FIFA, not least the move of FIFA's agent and legal division to Miami which has led to numerous resignations and departures from FIFA? We also revisit the 'Relevent' case in the USA, and the huge ramifications which that could have for FIFA and agents around the world. Also, how some 'agents are now viewed as more important than football directors', and a sporting director recruiting a whole team without calling a single agent. EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com SUPPORT THE SHOW via KoFi ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (00:08) - Show Overview (01:06) - Third FIFA Agents Exam Approaches & What Lays Ahead. > (02:53) - The Relevance of 'Relevent' in The US for Agents, FFAR, and FIFA (Globally). > (07:09) - The Growing Influence of US Football/Soccer on the Football World Including Agents. > (08:15) - "Premier League Games Will Be Played in the USA in the Next 10 Years" > (08:11) - A Pivotal Case for All Agents and The Motivation for An Individual Agent to Take on FIFA and FFAR in Court. > (13:07) - 'A Method to FIFAs 'Madness' ' and Some Logic with FIFA Football Agent Regulation (FFAR)? > (15:10) - A Growing Influence from US Sports on FIFA and the Approach to FFAR and a Cap on Agent Commissions? > (16:14) - US Sports Agent & US Talent Manager vs Football/Soccer Agent Comparison? > (18:12) - Influence of a Mature American Sports Market - FIFA Agent Fees vs 'Other Service' Fees. > (21:50) - Potential Clashes for FIFA and Their Regulations With The USA. > (24:27) - Changes from FIFA Legal (and Agent) Department Moving to Miami & The Effect on Agents & Regulations. > (25:46) - FIFA Aligning More with Broader US Sports Law, Rather than Swiss and EU Law? - The CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) Relationship. > (30:03) - "Some Agents Matter More Than Football Directors". > (32:03) - Agents in The Media - Quotes, Duty, Deflection vs Misinformation & Trouble Causing. > (36:00) - Recruiting an Entire Team Without Contacting a Single Agent. > (37:59) - 'Call to Action' on Football Agent Associations. > (39:05) - Upcoming Agent Events in Africa and Europe. > (40:08) - Disclaimer. > ====== RELATED LINKS : FIFA Football Agent Exam Study Materials (PDF) > "Maybe I was wrong, and FIFA was right …….. well sort of" - (Regulations on Working With Intermediaries Article) > Foreign Controlling Ownership in the European "Big 5" Leagues African Football Agents Conference 2024 Football Forum 2024 - Hungary ====== FEATURED ARTICLES : Fifa embarks on legal team recruitment drive following staff exodus > U.S. Soccer and FIFA antitrust lawsuit: U.S. Supreme Court could upend 'FIFA's authority to govern the game' > Biden administration says FIFA, U.S. Soccer antitrust suit should go to trial > 'Relevent' suit against US Soccer inches closer to Supreme Court > Premier League games will be played in USA in next 10 years, predicts head of LA 2028 Summer Olympics > “I closed a Sporting team without contacting a single agent” > Agent Damiani expects major changes at Napoli > FIFA moving legal department, over 100 jobs to Miami area > ===== SHOW LINKS: SUPPORT THE SHOW via KoFi EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red
This week on 'The Agents Angle' there is a look at the subject of football agent education and professional development - from the phase of preparing for the FIFA Football Agents exam through to fine-tuning the agent skill set for a very competitive industry. The show welcomes UEFA Academy Programme Manager Stephane Ehrhart, who takes us through the 'UEFA Player Agents Programme', which covers topics from player identification and statistical analysis through to negotiation and other agent industry skills. And in the last week before the application deadline for the 3rd FIFA Football Agents exam, there is a look at the courses that claim to help candidates pass the exam, as they commence their football agent journey. Also, news on regulation changes in England and the UK, with a new football regulator confirmed and the English Premier League (EPL) bringing in new cost controls; as well as a look at why 'bugs' seemingly persist in the FIFA Agents Platform and FIFA agent CPD, failing to live up to expectations. Plus, the 'Relevant' anti-competition case in the USA against the USSF and FIFA, that could impact cases against FFAR and the capping of agent fees. EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com SUPPORT THE SHOW via KoFi ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (02:27) - UK Football Regulator & Cost Control Changes in the English Premier League (EPL) and the Impact on Football Agents and Clubs Around the World. > (07:33) - Deadline for 3rd FIFA Football Agents Exam Approaches With A Plethora of Agent Exam Courses. > (10:59) - Football Agent Exam Courses : The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. > (15:24) - FIFA Football Agent Exam Resources Means that Preparation is Key. > (17:54) - The 'FIFA Executive Programme in Football Agency'. > (20:15) - Guest : Stephane Ehrhart - UEFA Academy Programme Manager, UEFA Player Agents Programme. > (21:13) - Introduction to the UEFA Academy and the 'UEFA Player Agent's Programme'. > (25:28) - Topics, Subjects and Focus of the 'UEFA Player Agents Programme' - A 360 Degree Approach. > (30:07) - Differences With Other Agent Courses - Learning How to Do The Job, Not Just Be Licensed. > (32:12) - How FFAR & Football Agent Regulation Changes Have Affected on the 'UEFA Player Agent Programme'. > (35:07) - Strengths and Weaknesses of Agents & The Knowledge of Agents. > (37:21) - Future Plans for the UEFA Player Agents Programme & Applying for the Programme. > (38:36) - Observations of the UEFA 'Player Agents Programme' Approach. > (43:39) - Room for Improvement? & Minor Reservations Over the UEFA Player Agent Programme. > (48:49) - Disappointing Mandatory FIFA Football Agent CPD, PLUS Bugs Remain in The FIFA Agent Platform. > (53:53) - The 'Relevant' Case in The US Moves 'Up a Gear' and Potentially Crucial to Agents, Football & 'Capping'. > ====== RELATED LINKS : UEFA Player Agent Programme > FIFA Executive Programme in Football Agency > FIFA Football Agent Exam Study Materials (PDF) > FIFA Agent Platform > ====== FEATURED ARTICLES : Historic Football Governance Bill introduced in Parliament > English football regulator close as government confirms ‘historic’ bill > Premier League profit and sustainability regulations explained: What restrictions are there on clubs spending what they want? > Relevent suit against US Soccer (USSF) and FIFA inches closer to Supreme Court > ===== SHOW LINKS: SUPPORT THE SHOW via KoFi EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red
***UNSCHEDULED EPISODE & EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW *** Following a week where a FIFA appeal over an injunction blocking the introduction of new football agent regulations was rejected by a court in Germany, 'The Agents Angle' presents an unscheduled bonus episode on the injunction and FIFAs failed appeal over the FFAR (FIFA Football Agent Regulations). Bringing you an exclusive interview with Michael Frank, one of the agents who led that challenge - a case that resulted in an injunction that arguably gave FFAR its first 'bloody nose', and prompted other such challenges and subsequent blows to FIFA's problematic agent regulation proposals. And whilst this could be perceived by some as the 'beginning of the end' for FFAR as we know it, the European 'elephant in the room' that is seemingly FIFA's 'last hope', is still lurking in the shadows and could potentially make matters far worse for everyone in the future. EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (00:09) - 'Introduction to a special episode of 'The Agents Angle'. > (00:23) - FIFA Appeal Over German Injunction on FFAR Rejected. > (02:11) - Possibly The First Case to Put FIFA 'On Notice' Over FFAR, Goes 'Under The Radar'. > (05:03) - EXCLUSIVE GUEST INTERVIEW: With An Agent Behind the Successful German Injunction - An Unsung Hero for Agents on FFAR. > (06:48) - Guest Introduction (Michael Frank), and Operating as an Agent Between Brazil and Germany. > (08:11) - A Pivotal Case for All Agents and The Motivation for An Individual Agent to Take on FIFA and FFAR in Court. > (11:32) - Chances of Success vs FIFA - There Was No Alternative. > (13:02) - The Risks and Cost of a 'David vs Goliath' Battle. > (14:43) - Differences, Similarities & Cohesion Between the Various German FFAR Cases & Injunctions. > (15:47) - Building Support and Unity for the Challenge - from Agents, Agent Associations and Others. > (18:22) - Any Regrets, or Things That Would Be Done Differently With the Case. > (19:14) - How The Future Looks for FFAR, Agent Regulations and the Other Challenges. > (20:54) - Have the FFAR Injunctions in Germany Prompted Changes in the German Football Agent Market? > (22:38) - Guest Interview Roundup & The Importance of Getting a 'Coal-Face' Picture. > (24:29) - Still Need for Clarity on the Impact of This Injunction and Rejected Appeal on FFAR in Germany and Around the World. > (25:24) - The Challenge Points to FFAR From The German Injunction/Case. > (26:51) - The Confusing Enigma of 'A Link to Germany' Still Remains Outside of Germany. > (29:23) - FIFAs Last Hope? : 'The Elephant (Not Yet) in the Room', The ECJ Ruling (European Court of Justice). > (32:14) - Do Such Rulings Advantage Some Football Markets, and Disadvantage Others? > (33:33) - Could The Nightmare of FFAR Be Nearing a Conclusion, or Possibly Get Worse? > (35:16) - Closing Remarks - Like, Subscribe, Sign Off, Farewell. > (36:03) - Disclaimer > ====== RELATED LINKS : March 2024 FIFA, German association fail to overturn temporary ban on rules for football agents > Injunction against FIFA agent rules remains in place - German court > May 2023 Injunction granted in Germany over new FIFA regulations and entry exam > Oral Hearing in the Preliminary Injunction Proceedings Concerning the FIFA Football Agents Regulations (FFAR) > (FIFA) FFAR : FIFA Football Agent Regulations (PDF) ===== SHOW LINKS: EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red
'The Agents Angle' is joined in this episode by someone considered by many to be one of football's current 'super-agents', and one of the most prominent voices in the football agent world, Rafaela Pimenta. As well as being the agent for superstar players such as Erling Haaland (of Manchester City) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (of Inter Milan), Rafaela talks to the show about 'The Football Forum', including the aims, objectives and challenges that face TFF (as a Global body for football agents and players) and the wider agent world, especially with the problems created by the FFAR (FIFA Football Agent Regulations). This includes, asking whether FIFA has employed a 'divide and conquer' strategy towards agents, whether FIFA's stance on FFAR is 'softening' and also considers the role of agent education, the 'manipulation' of the public image of agents and how TFF is not a 'Gentleman's Club' as some perceive it to be. 'The Agents Angle' also looks at the news that another 'superagent' and legend of the football agent world has announced their retirement. PLUS, other reports where agents are quitting the industry, or looking to change roles to become amongst other things, Sporting Directors with football clubs. EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (02:49) - 'Stepping Away' from the Football Agents Industry. > (03:52) - Ukrainian Agent 'Walks Away', Citing 'Disappointment in the Profession'. > (06:34) - Agents Switching Roles to Become Club Sporting Directors. > (12:02) - Veteran 'Super-Agent' Figure Announces Retirement. > (17:15) - Guest Interview : @Rafaela Pimenta - President of The Football Forum (TFF). > (18:38) - 'Super Agent' - 'Loved or Loathed'. > (19:54) - Law and Lecturing to the World of Football (and Sports Law). > (22:02) - From The Favellas to the World Cup : Most Memorable Moment(s) & Rewarding Achievement(s). > (24:52) - Huge Changes in the Football Agent World : Footballer to Athlete, Super-Agent to Multi-Agency. > (27:28) - Understanding the Limits of Creativity and The Differing Mindsets of Lawyers and Agents. > (29:56) - Any Changes in the 'Transfer Market'? > (31:40) - Future of the Agent World with FFAR (FIFA Football Agent Regulations) and 'The Law'. > (35:49) - The Football Forum (TFF) Primary Mission and Purpose. > (40:13) - TFF is Not a 'Gentlemens Club'! - Members, Structure, Benefits and The Prominent Agent Figures. > (43:40) - Challenges for TFF (The Football Forum) & The Waste of Money on FFAR Litigation. > (46:31) - A FIFA Strategy of 'Divide & Conquer' - Bringing Agents Factions Together. > (49:54) - A Softening in FIFA's Approach to FFAR? - The Consequences of Public Opinion Manipulation of Football Agents. > (56:03) - 'One' Wish for the Football Agents Industry > (58:50) - Key Points, Highlights & 'Takeaways' from the Guest Interview with Rafaela Pimenta. > (62:59) - Closing Remarks - Like, Subscribe, Sign Off, Farewell. > (75:21) - Disclaimer > ====== RELATED LINKS : TFF : The Football Forum > ====== FEATURED ARTICLES : Super agent Jonathan Barnett retiring after brokering huge Gareth Bale and Jack Grealish deals > Leading football agent Jonathan Barnett - who masterminded Gareth Bale's £85m Real Madrid move - 'set to retire' > Former agent of Buschan, Supriyaga, Khacheridi, Seleznyov quit football / Original in Ukrainian > Sky Andrew considers big switch > ===== SHOW LINKS: EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red
The aspect of Player Care has evolved rapidly in football in recent times, and should be recognised as an important factor for any conscientious football agent, club and player. Yet, what role do agents have in the provision of player care, and do agents really appreciate and understand the value of player care and the role of player liaison professionals within clubs? 'The Agents Angle' welcomes @Hugo Scheckter as this episode's guest; a vastly experienced player care professional with many English Premier League clubs and now a trainer of many of those working in Player Care as well as an advisor to many elite clubs on their player care provisions. 'The Agents Angle' also takes a look at reports of an 'out of court' settlement between an agent and club, in a long-running dispute over the transfer of Emiliano Sala from FC Nantes to Cardiff City FC which sadly ended in tragedy. Could more robust player care provisions have helped possibly avert the disputes, but more importantly the tragic outcome? The aspect of multiple agents being involved in a single transfer also brings 'under the spotlight' the topic of 'mandates'. Following the recent closure of the (January) 'transfer window' in many parts of the world, a quieter 'window' than normal for many agents, 'The Agents Angle' examines - is it a case of clubs being more cautious due to various factors impacting on finances? And could it see a shift towards a more American, if not 'Feast or Famine' approach by clubs to player recruitment? Coinciding with the closing of the 'transfer window'; FIFA held their annual FLAR (FIFA Law Annual Review) in Tokyo, which although not etched in many agent's diaries ..... agent-related matters featured prominently on the agenda. As such, 'The Agents Angle' looks at matters discussed at the FLAR and updates relating to the agent's world; from regulation (FFAR) to transfers, club finances to tax as well as a senior FIFA official 'labelling' the topic of agents as "amazing and interesting". There is also the case of a 'collapsed' transfer in the recent 'transfer window' that was reported to be because of a dispute relating to agent representation of the player; and the need for adequate independent dispute resolution for agents when such matters arise. EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (01:29) - Was The January 'Transfer Window' Really That Quiet? > (02:57) - Transfer Payments Are 'Catching Up' With Some Clubs. > (08:39) - Confusing Terminology of Loaning, Loan, Loanee & Clubs 'Stretching' Finances. > (10:35) - A Shift Towards the America in Recruitment Strategy - with 'Feast or Famine' Approach? > (13:47) - Could Accountants & Finance Directors Become A Club's Next Big Star in Transfers? > (18:14) - Agent Matters Prominent at FIFA Law Annual Review in Tokyo. > (23:14) - Has the FIFA Clearing House 'Stalled' When it Comes to Agent Commissions? > (25:33) - Observations from FLAR Presentation on 'Developments' With FIFA Agent Regulations (FFAR). > (32:53) - Did the FLAR Demonstrate More FIFA Misconceptions & Misunderstanding About Agents & The Agents World? > (38:15) - FLAR Presentation on 'The Global Football Transfer Picture (2023)' Used to Deflect Innacurately onto Agents? > (44:53) - Overall Reflection on the 'Tone' of The FIFA Law Annual Review (FLAR) & FIFA Priorities Including Agent Regulations. > (49:05) - A January Transfer 'Falls Through' Due to Agent Representation Dispute. > (50:54) - When Agent Disputes Stop Transfers & Everyone Loses & A Place for Mediation & ADR? > (55:06) - Breaking News on Osman Transfer - Agreement Now With Brighton. > (57:53) - Disclaimer > ====== RELATED LINKS : FIFA : FLAR (FIFA Law Annual Review) - Tokyo - February 2023) > Day One (time-stamps) 00/38/40 - Do's & Dont's in Player Transfers 03/28/40 - UEFA Financial Sustainability Regulations Day Two (time-stamps) 00/02/45 - The Global Transfer Picture: 2023 Figures 00/44/00 - Key Tax Issues Involved in Player Transfers 02/02/00 - Minimum Working Conditions For Female Players 02/35/50 - The Swiss Federal Tribunal in 2023 (and CAS) 04/39/00 - 'Amazing & Interesting' ? - Closing Statement KPMG - Winter Transfers, Where is the Value? ====== FEATURED ARTICLES : Ibrahim Osman’s Premier League dream shattered over agent fees dispute > ‘Deal is off’ – West Ham transfer mess as agent drama sees Hammers signing collapse > Brighton ‘now pushing’ for signing this week – De Zerbi’s side ‘make offer’ of €20m+ > Brighton to sign Nordsjaelland’s Ibrahim Osman in €19.5m transfer > ===== SHOW LINKS: EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red
With the introduction of the new football agent license by FIFA (as part of FFAR), there are reports of players 'sacking' their agents, or 'walking away' and/or 'dissolving' existing representation agreements and contracts. Agents are rumoured to be circling one Manchester United star of the future, and another former United player 'sacking' family members as his agents; 'The Agents Angle' examines this phenomenon and looks at the huge threat that it creates for those formerly 'Registered Intermediaries' who are now unlicensed, and others who may still have existing agreements with clients. This episode also looks at prominent clauses in transfer agreements that all agents should be aware of, especially during a transfer window. From 'buy-out' clauses and more complex 'loan' arrangements, to 'buy back' clauses and 'sell-ons'. Also, the show looks at signs of FIFA possibly extending their agent team on relocating to Miami, with an advertised role with FIFA for a new 'Education and Licensing Manager' of Football Agents, which could be very suitable for someone from the agent's world, who understands this complex and nuanced football agent industry. EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (02:47) - An Increasing Trend of Players 'Sacking' and Changing Agents? > (04:18) - Former Manchester United Star 'Sacks' His Agents In The Transfer Window. > (07:11) - Agents Circling Young Stars Who Are Represented by Their Family. > (12:07) - Unlicensed Former Registered Intermediaries In A Very Difficult Situation. > (16:46) - A Potential Trap for Players from Intermediary Agreements with Unlicensed Agents. > (18:03) - Registered Intermediaries Who Are Not Licensed FIFA Football Agents. > (23:05) - FEATURE : 4 Transfer Clauses That Agents Need to Be Aware Of. > (24:11) - Loan With Obligation (or Option) To Buy. > (25:42) - The 'Buy Out' Clause. > (27:42) - The 'Sell On' Clause, and Cautionary Factors. > (31:02) - 'Buy Back' Clauses & The 'Right of First Refusal' Clauses. > (32:26) - Importance of Clause Terminology is Not Just for the Lawyers, BUT the Agent AS WELL! > (36:41) - Still A Question Mark Over 'Penalty' Clauses in Agent Representation Agreements/Contracts. > (38:26) - Escaping the 'Agents Game' For a Cushy Secure Football Job in Miami (with FIFA)? > (41:04) - Progession or Regression With An Advertised FIFA Role for Agent Licensing and Education? > (42:35) - A Way to Go, 'IF' FIFA Are SERIOUS About Regulating & Support the Agents World Adequately. > (45:26) - Lawyer Credits for Contributing Articles on Contract Clauses. > (45:48) - Notice of Changes to 'The Agents Angle'. > (47:14) - Closing Remarks - Like, Subscribe, Sign Off, Farewell > (47:55) - Disclaimer > ====== RELATED LINKS : Education & Licensing Manager (FIFA) - FIFA - Jobs Portal - Education & Licensing Manager - FIFA - FFAR : FIFA Football Agent Regulations (PDF) - FIFA - FIFA Agents Platform - ====== FEATURED ARTICLES : Ex-Manchester United Forward Sacks His Agents In Attempt To Find A New Club As Soon As Possible - Top Agents Looking To Snap Up The 19-Year-Old Who Is Still Represented by His Family - The Making of Dan Gore at Manchester United - --------- CONTRIBUTING ARTICLE (WRITER CREDITS) : Juan Crespo , Mark Hovell , Iain Laing , Andrien Laree , Paulo Lombardi , Jordi Lopez , Luca Pastore , Luis Torres , Josep Vandellos , Peter Paleologos . ===== SHOW LINKS: EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red
Mexican football has a huge following with the excitement of Liga MX and Liga MX Femenil, but what is the landscape like for football agents operating in Mexico? 'The Agents Angle' is joined by FIFA Licensed Football Agent and Sports Lawyer María García Cornejo Alvarez to share her knowledge and experiences from the Mexican Football World. There is a look at an unsavoury incident, whereby a prominent name from the football agency world has reported being subject to prejudice and racism by a club, and we look at what repercussions this may bring for the club in question. "In this world, nothing is certain, apart from death and taxes", and the core subject for this episode is something that neither superstar players such as Cristiano Ronaldo nor football agents are immune from ........ tax !!!!. We are joined by football tax specialist Peter Fairchild, to look at the tax landscape for football agents operating in the English Premier League and the other leagues in the UK. Plus, we take a look at some of the tax implications from the new FIFA Football Agent Regulations (FFAR), where at this moment in time things are far from certain. Whilst FIFA Circular #1873 regarding FFAR was released a few weeks ago, it confused many on the suspensions announced in regard to the new agent regulations. So, 'The Agents Angle' also examines another circular released by FIFA in recent days, that aims to provide some clarity to the confusion over the FIFA Football Agent Regulation suspensions. Yet, with the negative impact that FIFA's implementation of FFAR has had on agents and agencies around the world; could FIFA be liable for losses and damages suffered by agents, with reports of an impending court case? EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (01:48) - Another FIFA Agent Regulation Circular Released to Clarify Questions Over FFAR. > (04:31) - Could FIFA Be Liable for Losses and Damages Suffered by Agents Caused by FFAR? > (08:50) - Good Agents & Good Lawyers Would Have Prepared for All Eventualities. > (11:13) - FIFA 'On the Hook' for FFAR Problems : Difficult to Prove, But Anything Can Happen. > (13:49) - In This World Nothing is Certain - Especially for Agents and Their Clients. > (15:14) - How Overseas (Footballers &) Sports Stars Are Taxed in the UK (e.g. England). > (16:56) - Cristiano Ronaldo's Image Rights Provisions Fall Short of Italys Tax Requirements. > (22:12) - Expert Interview - Football Tax Relating to England and the UK (with Peter Fairchild). > (23:25) - Tax for Football Agents Operating in the UK. > (28:19) - Main Challenges & Tax Complications for Football Agents. > (34:11) - FFAR 'Non-Agent Services' Could Prompt Dangerous & Unqualified Tax Advice! > (36:47) - WARNING - Dual-Representation, Duality & Triality is Still a Prime Target for the Tax Authorities! > (39:43) - Problems With FIFA's 'Client Pays Model'. > (41:23) - Common Errors in the 'Transfer Window. > (44:36) - Greater Focus on Football Agents from Tax Authorities Around the World! > (47:24) - Risks for Agents and Clients for Non-Compliance. > (55:26) - A Win for a Football Agent Over Tax - But VAT is Not So Simple in Football. > (63:44) - Reports That Premier League Clubs Avoid Millions in Tax Relating to Agents! > ====== RELATED LINKS : Pete Fairchild - Crowe UK - Tax Compliance Services HMRC - EIM01150 - Football clubs: payments to intermediaries HMRC - EIM01151 - Football clubs: payments to intermediaries: indicators of risk HMRC - EIM01152 - Football clubs: payments to intermediaries: retention of records FIFA - How to Become a Licensed Football Agent FIFA - Football Agent Working Group holds second meeting ====== FEATURED ARTICLES : FIFA Prepare for Impending Lawsuit from Agents Over New Regulations How Overseas Sports Stars Are Taxed in the UK Italian Revenue Agency Scores Again on the Tax Treatment of Cristiano Ronaldo's Image Rights Income Another Bruising Defeat for HMRC HMRC Ruled Offside in Football Agent VAT Appeal Premier League Clubs Avoided £250m in Tax, Expert Estimate ===== SHOW LINKS: EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red
Just when agents and others in the football worldthought it was safe to think there was some certainty on FFAR (FIFA Football Agent Regulations) at least for the new transfer window, FIFA delivered a circular that has sent the football agent world into yet more confusion and bewilderment. Yet whilst FIFA Circular #1873 has prematurely prompted celebration and euphoria for some in the football world, The Agents Angle examines if the announcement of the suspension on aspects of the hotly disputed new football agent regulations is all that it seems, or whether it is understandably causing confusion and differences of opinion. Whilst the core issue of the cap on agent commissions/fees does seem to be suspended, the announcement on FFAR with its seeming contradictions prompts other questions and confusion. As a busy year (2023) in the agent's world draws to a close, the last week has been more frenetic than ever with key meetings held and huge decisions reached on the FFAR (FIFA Football Agent Regulations), or further clarification given on past rulings. This episode of 'The Agents Angle' examines whether there could be signs of FIFA relenting and the cap on agent commissions as part of FFAR being suspended. The meeting of the FIFA Agent Working Group in Saudi Arabia this last week also prompted news of a memorandum of understanding between FIFA and Agents (as stakeholders), a reduction in the license fee, and a 'crackdown' on unlicensed agents; amongst other things. There is also news of another ruling against the FFAR by a huge football nation as well as another National Association elsewhere rumoured not to be applying the cap on agent commissions nationally. And with the FIFA 'Football Agents in International Transfers' report released in time for the 1st anniversary of the approval of FFAR by FIFA Council, we ask whether this is a coincidence, as well as whether the report is an anomaly and an inaccurate portrayal of the football agent's world, with the shadow of FFAR and the challenges to it. EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (02:12) - Findings Published from the Rule 'K' Arbitration in England on Agent Regulations. > (04:47) - Regulators and Agents Seem to Have VERY Different Views of the Agents Industry. > (06:34) - Rule 'K' Hearing Witnesses and Use of Past Research. > (09:23) - Another Major Football Nation (Brasil) Gives FFAR & FIFA Another 'Kick'. > (12:18) - Petty and Innaccurate Scoring of the FFAR Dispute(s) Doesn't Help! > (15:32) - FIFA Agent Working Group (F-AWG) Meet in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (2nd meeting). > (19:09) - Unlicensed Agent 'Crackdown' Mentioned at AWG. > (20:09) - 'Memorandum of Understanding' (MOU) Could Lead to Agents Becoming FIFA Recognised 'Stakeholders'. > (26:21) - The Big Issue of the 'Capping' on Agent Commissions, Whats Happening? > (27:47) - What Are the Problems IF FIFA Suspend the 'Caps' on Agent Commissions? > (29:34) - BREAKING NEWS : No 'Caps' on Domestic Agent Fees in Belgium. > (30:34) - FFAR's First Birthday - Pure Coincidence or More Miracle FIFA Scheduling? > (32:28) - FIFA Release the 'Football Agents in International Transfers' Report. > (34:12) - A Challenge to FIFA for 2024 in the Name of 'Transparency' > (36:21) - 'Some' Interesting Agent/Agency Trends Identified Worldwide > (40:46) - FIFA's Headline Points from the Report - 'Stating the Bleeding Obvious'? > (41:48) - Impact of the European Super League (ESL) Case at the ECJ on Agent Regulations. > (44:33) - Credits and Contribution Thanks. > (46.29) - Disclaimer > ====== RELATED LINKS : FA 'Rule K' Arbitration Award Published Following Proceedings by Football Agencies - Partial Final ('Rule K' Arbitration) Award (PDF) FIFA - Football Agent Working Group holds second meeting FIFA - Agent Service Fees Reach All-Time High in 2023 FIFA - FIFA’s Football Agents in International Transfers Report (PDF) ====== FEATURED ARTICLES : ===== SHOW LINKS: EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red

The long awaited episode on the rapid emergence of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Pro League (SPL) as footballs new 'superpower', but why is the lauded new frontier seemingly so secretive on business and football agent matters? On this episode the shows guest is Gad Cohen, a leading agent from the Saudi Frontier who managed the transfer of Croatian star player Marcelo Brozović from Inter Milan to Al Nassr in 2023. Gad provides insight into what it is like to operate in the Saudi Pro League, the targets, the aspirations as well as the all important 'key(s)' to success. There is also closer analysis of the long term vision for Saudi football, the clash and threat (if any) that Saudi football poses to European football, as well as whether womens football can follow the mens game in developing to prominence. Plus, what would you do if as a football agent you were presented with the sight of 10 million euros 'cash' in a bag during a player transfer? EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (01:45) - Difficult Episode With a 'Wall of Silence' on Saudi Football and Saudi Pro League. > (02:33) - The Saudi Arabia Football Scene - An Overview. > (06:24) - Saudi Football a 'Closed Shop' for 'Select Agents'? > (06:57) - Player Acquisition and Transfers Through One Central Point (PACE). > (08:17) - The Long Term Plan and 'Vision' for Saudi Arabian Football. > (10:21) - Is It Really 'All About The Money'? > (11:43) - Concerns of Transfers for the Wrong Reasons and The Role of Agents. > (13:47) - Is the Saudi Pro League, Just Another 'Chinese Super League'? > (19:28) - Were Big Names & Big Transfer Fees Really a Surprise? 'The Agents Angle' can only start in one place this week, with that of the momentous ruling in England over the new FIFA Football Agent Regulations (FFAR) with the FIFA 'cap' on football agent commissions defeated once again; following a similar path to Germany and Spain. The ruling is a relief for many, but what was the reason for an apparent delay in the 'Rule K' arbitration process that handled the dispute between Agents and The FA? Esteemed Barrister Joe Bryan guides us through what the applications for 'Rule K' are across football disputes involving agents and other football participants? There is also the 'inside track' on what MAY be implemented by The FA (England) with Football Agent regulations from the proposals presented earlier in the year to a select group; looking at topics including agent registration, protection of minors, CPD, registration fees, just cause, representation agreements, The PFA's role, clearing house and players seeking independent legal advice. EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (01:20) - News of a Rule K Decision on FFAR in England. > (02:02) - What We Know So Far of the Decision on 'Rule K' Decision in England? > (05:10) - What Happens Next in England With Agent Regulations? > (06:00) - Impact of the Ruling in England; Across Europe & Around the World. > (07:47) - What Are FIFA Going to Do Next, Following the Ruling in England? > (08:57) - Would Previous Drafts of FFAR Have Resulted in a Different Ruling? > (09:44) - Understandable Frustration with Delay with the Decision, But Why? > (11:45) - Expert Interview - FA 'Rule K' Arbitrations - Joe Bryanof Littleton Chambers > (13:17) - What is 'Rule K' in English Football? > (15:22) - Common Midconceptions of 'Rule K' and Arbitration. > (17:13) - The Aspect of a 'Football Participant', What is It? > (18:00) - Potential Costs of 'Rule K' Arbitration Over A Football Dispute. > (19:09) - Role and Responsibility of an Agent in a 'Rule K' Arbitration. > (23:26) - What If a Football Participant Chose Litigation Over Arbitration (Rule K)? > (25:07) - Can Parties 'Opt Out' of a 'Rule K' Proceeding? > (27:00) - The Scope of FA 'Rule K' Disputes for Agents. > (30:49) - What May Happen in the Football Agent World Around the Globe Following the English Ruling? > (36:01) - What Does the FA Have in Mind for National Football Agent Regulations in England? > (39:51) - Another Possible Clash Between UK Legislation with FFAR? > (41:31) - Agent Licensing Period, Registration Periods & Stand Representation Contracts. > (43:16) - Agent Regulations Regarding Protection of Minors - Additional CPD & Authorisation Required for England. > (48:34) - Independent Legal Advice - Are Player Associations Important or Potentially Conflicted? > (51:09) - FIFA Clearing House Replaces the FA Clearing House ........ but when? > (56:19) - Positive Elements from The FA's Draft National Agent Regulation Proposals. > ====== RELATED LINKS : (November) Statement on Arbitration Proceeding by Agencies to Challenge NFAR Implementation (September) Update on Arbitration Proceeding by Agencies to Challenge NFAR Implementation FIFA Football Agent Regulations (FFAR) FFAR FAQs ====== FEATURED ARTICLES : FIFA regulations to cap agent fees in England blocked after agency challenge Football agents celebrate FA tribunal victory in fight against Fifa regulations Football agents land major victory over Fifa after commission cap ruling ===== SHOW LINKS: EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red
Whilst the EU are reported by some media outlets to have supported FIFA and their plans with the FFAR (FIFA Football Agent Regulations), 'The Agents Angle' examines why this is misleading - the implications of the reported actions of some at the European Commission have led to such actions being branded as 'cowardly'. On the topic of the European Commission 'report' on FFAR, our special guest is Gregor Reiter (EFAA Counsel and former MD and founder of the German Agents Association (DFVV)); with whom we examine the implications of the commissions observations on the current legal challenges, the history of EU involvement with football agent regulations and also pose the the prominet question that many are asking - "what is a 'link to Germany?'" . There are also reports of more agent regulation breaches by another English football club in the higher echelons of the English Premier League (EPL), this time Spurs (Tottenham Hotspur); but more surprising is the matter of it being approximately 15 years ago and reports of the English Football Association (The FA) 'doing nothing'. 'The Agents Angle' also takes a look at the topic of performance related bonuses for players and the implications of bonuses for clubs and agents. Whilst the question is also asked as to whether such bonuses are a 'double edged sword' and whether FFAR will see agents utilising performance bonuses in a different way. EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com ====== SHOW RUNNING ORDER : (02:11) - Another English Premier League Implicated in Agent Irregularities! > (09:44) - Political Interference OR Intervention in Football. > (11:03) - Is the European Commission (EU) Really Supporting FIFA on FFAR? > (16:48) - Guest Interview - Gregor Reiter - EFAA Counsel (European Football Agents Association) & Founder of German Football Agents Association > (18:04) - Where Have FIFA Succeeded & Where Do Challenges Remain Regarding FFAR? > (19:21) - European Commission Attacked & Branded as 'Cowardly' on FFAR Observations. > (20:58) - The 'Oddity' of FIFA Solidarity Payments with Agent Regulations. > (22:11) - What Role Should/Could the EU & European Commission Play on Football Agent Regulations? > (24:13) - Where Were the EU In 2015 With FIFA Deregulating Football Agents & What Has Changed? > (26:37) - Will European Commission Views Affect FFAR Legal Cases (e.g. Germany)? > (28:08) - The Relationship Between Football Agents and the Football Authorities After the Legal Challenges. > (29:48) - Concerns Over FFAR, Go Beyond the 'Cap'! > (32:59) - Is it Viewed as Advantage Spain and Germany in the January 2024 Transfer Window? > (34:42) - A German View on the 'Link to Germany'. > (47:15) - Performance Bonuses for Players and the Impact on Clubs and Agents Also. > ====== RELATED LINKS : EFAA (European Football Agents Association) > Whymper (Law Practice) > ====== FEATURED ARTICLES : Revealed: Spurs and Defoe appeared to break agent rules – but FA did nothing > Tottenham at risk of sanctions with FA 'to review' transfer over 'agent rule breaches' > Tottenham face serious allegations of breaching transfer rules in Jermain Defoe to Portsmouth deal > Tottenham risk point deduction as FA consider ‘review’ of ‘serious agent rule breach’ in Defoe transfer > FIFA partial success in billion dollar dispute with player agents > Expert attacks the EU Commission: “Cowardly!” > Vice-President Answer on behalf of the European Commission > ===== SHOW LINKS: EMAIL : questions@theagentsangle.com WEBSITE : www.theagentsangle.com LinkedIn Instagram Facebook Twitter (X) YouTube ====== CREDITS : Theme Music : Agent Red by Abbynoise Music from #Uppbeat : https://uppbeat.io/t/abbynoise/agent-red
'Football Leaks' starting in 2015 exposed many questionable activities linked to the football agent world, however, the recent 'Cyprus Confidential' investigation has started to generate similar accusations with clubs, players, managers and AGENTS implicated. The investigation has led to former UEFA Champions League & English Premier League champions Chelsea FC being accused of irregular agent payments under their former ownership. Our guest this week is Rodrigo García Lucas, a key member of the team in Spain that achieved a recent injunction against FIFA and the 'capping' of agent commissions under FFAR. We have insights into the process and challenges involved in the legal procedure, as well as the impact it may have on the Spanish football industry and the wider global implications including comparisons with the German injunctions. Soccerex in Miami last week featured a panel discussion on FFAR featuring FIFA, its complications, problems and the strange accusation by some that "there is really not much outrage at the regulations" and it is "a European Issue". 🤪 There is also our final weekly NFAR (National Football Agent Regulations) 'roundup' for a while - focussing this week on Hungary, Finland and India; whilst also highlighting the 'broken jigsaw puzzle' that exists, with over a hundred National (Member) Football Associations still yet to implement NFAR under FIFA Football Agent Regulations. With many in the football agent world shouting "Viva Espana", this week on 'The Agents Angle' we look briefly at an injunction, this time in Spain, that impacts on FIFA's implementation of the FFAR (FIFA Football Agent Regulations). Whilst some in the media describe it as a 'minor' victory in Spain, when considered in combination with the likes of the German injunction on FFAR and the impending 'Rule K' ruling in England, it could be a major problem for FIFA. Our special guest this week talks about how the sight of Lionel Messi's slippers caused him to change from a dream scenario to one more associated with a nighmare. Established Malaysian football agent Effendi Jagan Abdullah talks to us about the football agents market in Malaysia and other parts of South East Asia, as well as the differences between the role of a Licensed FIFA Match Agent to that of a Football (player) Agent. Finally, 'The Agents Angle' weekly NFAR roundup takes us to South America and Europe, where we look at the 'National Football Agent Regulations' in Brazil and Slovakia - whilst we also recap on the recent EFAA (European Football Agents Association) events at Wembley Stadium in England, where many football agents gathered and many agent related matters were discussed. In this episode of 'The Agents Angle' we examine the influence that agencies and agents potentially have on two of the biggest competitions in world football : the UEFA Champions League (UCL) and the English Premier League (EPL); and how this could be impacted in the future with increased scrutiny under new football agent regulations of agent relationships with clubs, players and managers/coaches. The shows special guest this week is Japanese agent and lawyer Yuki Mabuchi, who gives us insights into the soccer agents world in Japan; which includes player recruitment in the J-League, challenges for agents and the impact of FFAR (FIFA Football Agent Regulations) on the Japanese football market. We also have our regular update on National Football Agent Regulations (NFAR) from around the world, this week featuring Colombia and Austria. There is also time to take a look at the inclusion of intermediaries (agents) on one of the most popular football games of all time (Football Manager 2024) and whether this demonstrates the crucial role of agents to a wider audience; and is reinforced by the inclusion of the TransferRoom player brokerage platform (used by agents) in the game.
