Let's chat about the changes in the freight market and trucking industry month over month from August to September of 2023. We will look at diesel, tender rejections, freight volumes, spot rates and how the freight market has shifted every September from 2018 through 2023.
9/11/2001 NEVER FORGET
We will be looking at what is going on with diesel prices, how many carriers net left so far this year up to this point, what is happening with freight volumes and rejections for dry vans, reefers and flatbeds, and then we will compare todays market to the past 5 years and will have a clear picture of why we are facing what we are facing on the spot market.
Freight volumes crashed this week which was unexpected. It is possible that it has to do with the United Auto Workers (UAW) strike. Tender rejections however are experiencing a sharp increase which is surprising. Diesel prices are slowly decreasing. Lets talk about how all of this affects the spot market rates and spot volumes for Flatbeds, Reefers and Dry Vans, and where the best markets are next week if you want to get better loads.
Capacity is the culprit of our situation with the rates today. So let's chat about how it can change, what historical data shows, and what we can expect next.
Unfortunately, the market is continuing to deteriorate despite the fact that truck capacity is decreasing. Diesel prices saw some momentary relief this week, while rejection rates fell more. Freight volumes are holding strong, but spot volumes are down for flatbeds, reefers and dry vans.
Let’s chat about what we can do in order to adapt to the current craziness. We know we can’t do much to change the freight market and diesel prices, but we can adapt to it to survive until better times come.

Today will be upsetting news for the freight market. Let’s talk about carrier capacity, how many net carriers we lost, how much capacity there is in the market. Then we will focus on load volumes and rejections and how they affect spot market rates and spot volumes. We will also look at diesel prices, and how all this data affects Flatbeds, Reefers and Dry Vans.
Lets talk about Diesel Prices, carrier capacity and how many carriers are leaving and entering the trucking industry, volumes and rejections, how those affect spot market volumes and spot market load rates, and how this whole thing affects Dry Vans, Reefers and Flatbeds.
Carriers have a lot of pent up anger against brokers, and the biggest issue I have noticed from he emails I received is that brokers are starting to worry about their reputation. Carriers nowadays will find any excuse to leave you behind, especially if the market is in their favor, so it's time to tweak the way you treat truckers, dispatchers, owner operators. Lets chat.
Let's chat in detail about carrier capacity, volumes, tender rejections and the general supply and demand of the freight market in the trucking industry.
Today we are going to look at capacity, freight volumes, tender rejections, and how these are affecting the spot market. We will also take a look at diesel prices (which, SPOILER ALERT, are ruining everything).
Peak season is a time that carriers, owner operators, dispatchers and drivers wait for because this is the time when we make more money than throughout the rest of the year. So what does 2023 have in store for us when it comes to peak season?
Let's chat about carrier capacity, volumes, rejection rates, and how it affects flatbeds, reefers and dry vans.
I think we all need a break from the freight market for a second so lets talk about how I got into trucking and how I became a YouTuber.
I was shocked to see the increase in tender rejections today, and general freight volume keeps going up. Carrier capacity did decrease again since last week and in general, behind the scenes things are going in the direction we want…except for diesel prices which are going up. The question is WHEN will this be reflected on the spot market for carriers to finally be able to get good load rates?
Lets chat about Diesel this month, why its going up, most and least expensive diesel states, the general freight market and how it change month over month, and how the market changed every August from 2018 through 2023.
Just talking about spot rates, brokers, shippers. Please say NO to cheap freight.
In this episode, we are going to chat about what happened with carrier capacity and the freight market last week, and make predictions of the best areas to go to starting next week for Reefers, Flatbeds and Dry Vans.
In this episode, we discuss the downfalls of taking that cheap freight just to cover "some expenses". I will prove to you that sometimes, running empty will save you more than running loaded.
In today's episode, we examine what happened with the freight market last week and forecast the best (Relatively) place to go to grab better opportunities next week for Dry Vans, Reefers and Flatbeds.
