Description

Over 160,000 voicemails (and counting) of strangers calling into At The Beep's phone line where they say anything they'd like.

This podcast is a random assortment of those callers and their voicemails, which explore topics such as love, parenthood, death, addiction, cheating, and regret just as a few examples.

At the Beep is a project aimed at showing the human condition and experience through an anonymous phone line. The phone line is to stay open indefinitely for all of those that have something to say.

Yesterday, I was going through some photo albums with my girlfriend and also, my dad sent me some pictures of us from when I was college. It all got me thinking about my teenage years and the little troublemaking and fun times I had growing up. Smoking weed without my parents knowing, TP'ing friends' houses, trespassing random abandoned buildings, etc etc. You know, those things, I would hope, that connect us all in those years of pushing the boundaries and finding out what it means to be human all while being a kid. It's all so bittersweet. Now, I'm an adult and realize that time was so quick and so taken for granted. All of these stories aren't so much fun while being an adult. Responsibility and the expectation of no longer being a kid prevent you from pushing boundaries and having a bit of fun. Being an adult has its pros and cons. One of the cons being this.Hit me up and reflect about those fun teenage stories, I would love to hear it: (608) - 856- 4955At The Beep

Call me and tell about what you want to see out of this account going forward: (608) - 856- 4955At The Beep
What are you doing? Why aren't you doing *that*? You know, the idea that revisits you often. The thing you know will work, or set your soul free, or make you feel accomplished for once in your life. What's holding you back? Your fear? Your embarrassment? Your sense of perfection? You know, the things that matter way less than the feeling of actually doing it. It's okay to not be great at it, I promise. It's okay to be a little cringe, I promise. It's okay to be afraid, I promise. The worst thing you can do is be at the point of reflection upon your life and wonder why you never acted on that idea that visits you often. Do it. Before you die.Tell me about what you want to do before you die: (608) - 856- 4955At The Beep
EP. 44 - Dead Internet

EP. 44 - Dead Internet

2025-08-0347:59

I read an article this week of a study that showed that half of internet traffic is fake now. Some sites, like Twitter, where 75% of its traffic is fake. In my opinion, this number is going to be 90% by the end of 2026. It seems more and more obvious that the dead internet is coming, or even here already.I want to make two things clear.1. Everything on this project will be made by human beings. FOREVER. No use of AI will ever be committed by this project.2. Fuck AIIf you hate AI, I would love to hear about it: (608) - 856- 4955At The Beep

"If I don't move to the city before they build that car dealership I will kill myself"I wrote that in my journal because I grew up in a place that I just can't seem to get out of with hopes of a larger experience. I'm turning 27 this year. I know in the grand scheme of things that isn't too old but if I don't do something now I will never get out. All I'm doing is just getting older. Am I getting any wiser? Any kinder? Any smarter? More loving? More mindful? More attentive? Less angry? Less defensive? Less attractive?I don't know, really. All I know is that I'm just getting older. Oh, and that I don't care for car dealerships too much. How is your....getting older? Tell me at (608) - 856- 4955At The Beep
Every action you have ever taken in life has led up to this exact moment of you reading this exact sentence. All the arguments, the nights staying up late with friends, telling someone that you love them, jokes laughed at, sunsets watched, mourning at funerals, all of the in between moments that seem insignificant. All of it. Life is strange when you take a step back and look at the bigger picture. It all seems so interconnected. When it's happening you don't even realize it. Life is so beautiful in this juxtaposed way. Life is strange.Call and tell me about your strange life: (608) - 856- 4955At The Beep
The more time passes, the more fuzz grows. The past starts to resemble grain. Details start to fade as I get more distanced from what was. Only the highlights remain, to which are also becoming hazy. If it's true, that we are a collection of memories, does that make myself a blur? Am I smudge, a collection of faded items?Tell me what collection of blurs make up yourself: (608) - 856- 4955At The Beep
Life revolves around this desire that often leaves us in desperation and pain. There's a price associated with the pursuit of love. Over half of marriages end in divorce, people die for it, people die without it, and almost everyone has a story where it came close to destroying them. This idea is destructive in nature. Yet, we revolve our lives around this idea. There is only one conclusion to make. It's worth it. it's priceless. What prices have you paid for love? Call me and tell me: (608) - 856- 4955At The Beep

EP. 31 - Time's March

EP. 31 - Time's March

2025-02-2343:53

The older I get, the more I realize time is this constant beat. This drum, that moves you forward and progresses your life. The more you live in the past and slow your own march, or the more you live in the future and speed your march, the more you are out of sync with time's march. The more out of sync you are, the more out of sync...you are.Are you in sync with the march of time? Tell me : (608) 856-4955At The Beep
