We have some really exciting news to share… we finally bought a farm! What’s wild is that on the drive home from the closing, we started talking about everything that didn’t work out over last several years… all the things that fell through, all the plans that didn’t go our way, and all the doors that closed right when we thought they were supposed to open. And suddenly, every single “no” made perfect sense. Because each one was redirecting us and nudging us toward this place… this farm… at the perfect time.It reminded me of that Garth Brooks line: “Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.”
This Thanksgiving week, I am taking a different approach. Instead of focusing solely on gratitude, we’re exploring the other side of the equation, the habits, mindsets, and relationships that are no longer serving you. Sometimes the most powerful form of self-care isn’t adding more appreciation to your life, it’s releasing what’s holding you back.In this episode, we talk about the pages you may need to let go of so you can move forward into the next chapter of your story. Gratitude matters, but letting go matters just as much. Lets dive in!
In this episode, I get honest about the seasons that feel like they’re breaking us. The stretches of life where it seems like we’re taking punch after punch, and no matter how hard we try, nothing moves the way we hoped. Times when progress is painfully slow, when everything feels uphill, and when our patience, strength, and optimism wear thin.I talk about the moments when we can absorb the hits and the moments when we hit a wall so hard that the only thing we want to do is burn it all down. This conversation is about naming those feelings, normalizing them, and exploring what to do when you’re standing in frustration, disappointment, or exhaustion.Let's dive in! Hey there, how’s that holiday planning going for you? Here we are, mid-November already, staring down the next month and a half with two big holidays on the horizon. Now, I want you to really think about this for a second: how are these upcoming holidays, especially Christmas, making you feel? Are you excited? Looking forward to it? Counting down the days until you can slow down, celebrate, and enjoy some time with loved ones?Or... are you dreading it a little? Maybe feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or just not in that “holiday spirit” everyone seems to talk about? Here’s the thing: whichever camp you find yourself in, it’s important to notice it. And if you’re in that not-so-excited camp, that’s okay, you still have time to shift how this season feels for you.So, in today’s episode, let’s chat about it. Let’s talk about how you’re really feeling about the holidays, why that might be, and what you can do to make this season more peaceful, joyful, and meaningful, whatever that looks like for you.Grab a cup of coffee, take a deep breath, and let’s dive in. Have you ever had one of those moments when something presses on your heart and mind so strongly you just know you’re supposed to act on it? The other week, I experienced not just one, but two promptings that came completely out of nowhere. One, I will never know the reason for. The other, I absolutely understand why it was placed on my heart. Both experiences reminded me how powerful it can be when we choose to listen and act even when we don’t understand the full picture. But it also made me wonder… how many promptings do we miss? How often are we too busy, too distracted, or too wrapped up in our own world to make a difference in someone else’s?In this episode, I share those stories, what I learned from them, and why I believe paying attention to promptings can change not just someone else’s day but your own life too.Let’s Stay Connected:📲 Follow me on Instagram: @youmatterbymegan🏡 Follow our tiny cottage journey: @maysstays📖 Grab my book From Zero to Four: www.meganlynnmay.com🎁 Shop meaningful adoption + You Matter gifts: www.meganlynnmay.com💛 Thanks for listening, and always remember, you matter.

Have you ever completely overthought something? Got anxious, stressed, and analyzed every little detail only for it to work out just fine in the end? That was me this past week… at the laundromat, of all places. In this episode, I share a simple story that turned into a powerful reminder: fear often holds us back more than reality ever will. I challenge you to take the step you've been hesitating on and offer a gentle nudge to be kind to others. Everyone is carrying something, and you never know how much a smile, a kind word, or just some good energy can shift someone’s day.Let’s talk about fear, courage, and how even the most ordinary places can teach us extraordinary things.Let’s Stay Connected:📲 Follow me on Instagram: @youmatterbymegan 🏡 Follow our tiny cottage journey: @maysstays 📖 Grab my book From Zero to Four: www.meganlynnmay.com 🎁 Shop meaningful adoption + You Matter gifts: www.meganlynnmay.com💛 Thanks for listening and always remember, you matter.
In this episode, I talk about a recent moment with our youngest daughter, who is adopted, as she begins to notice the ways we're different, like her beautiful brown eyes compared to my blue ones. It was eye-opening at such a young age to hear her say she doesn’t want her eyes, but instead wants to look more like me. It reminded me of something we all do as humans: how easy it is, even from a young age, to desire what we don’t have.I reflect on how comparison creeps in, often stealing the joy of simply being who we are. What if we tried to flip this toxic narrative and learn to fully embrace the unique way God created each of us? Wouldn't that be amazing? To see our amazing Gotcha Day video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zu2rwvQL-60&t=50sTo follow more of me, head on over to Instagram @youmatterbymeganFor a signed copy of my new book, From Zero To Four- https://meganlynnmay.com/collections/from-zero-to-four-bookIf you are a gift-giving enthusiast or want to see all the irons I have in the fire, head on over to https://www.meganlynnmay.com/Follow our journey of building a tiny cottage on Instagram @maysstays
The other day, I got checked by no one other than myself. I had this great idea that was important to me and wanted it to happen, but my husband wasn’t on board, the kids weren’t either, and so I threw a childish tantrum. The next day, I had to take a hard look in the mirror and ask: What were my intentions with this anyway? In today’s episode, I get real (and a little embarrassed) as I share how I realized I was in the wrong and how my intentions were wrong. We all need to take a little time and assess that thing before doing it, speaking it, or acting upon it. Hey friend, let’s talk real for a minute. What limiting beliefs are you still fighting for? The ones that tell you you’re not enough, not capable, not ready? In this episode, I’m opening up about a personal season in my life where I found myself unknowingly fighting for all the things I thought I couldn’t do. I was so deep in doubt that I didn’t even realize I was holding myself back by choosing to believe my limitations over possibility. But then God stepped in.He pulled me out of my comfort zone, stripped away the help and support I had been leaning on, and forced me to face things head-on. And let me tell you: what felt like a breaking moment was actually a building one. He was preparing me not just to overcome the things I thought I couldn’t do, but to step boldly into a new, powerful chapter of my life.If you’re in a season of questioning your ability, doubting your worth, or feeling stuck... this one’s for you. Let’s uncover those beliefs you're still fighting for and flip the script.
Feeling a little heavier than usual lately? You're not alone. Over the past month, I found myself struggling and short-tempered, and having more anxiety, not just by my own thoughts, but by the energy, opinions, and emotions I was absorbing from others online. And it hit me: what we consume emotionally and energetically matters more than we even realize. In this week's episode, I’m getting real about the impact of digital consumption and the importance of setting energetic boundaries. I’m also offering two challenges:Pause Before You Post: What are you really trying to say or achieve? Let’s be more mindful of the energy we put out.Prioritize Real-Life Connection: Less screen time, more face time. Let’s be present with the people around us and rediscover the power of in-person connection.Let’s shift the energy, starting with ourselves.
Every marriage goes through seasons. Some light and joy-filled, others heavy and challenging. No couple is immune to change, and learning how to navigate these shifts together is key to a strong, lasting relationship. In this episode, I open up about the season my own marriage is currently in. A time of uncertainty as our family of six prepares for a sudden move, not yet knowing where we’ll live while waiting for our next home to be ready. It’s raw, real, and far from easy. But it’s also a reminder that growth often happens in the messy, in-between places.Whether you're in a season of ease or one of struggle, this conversation is for you. Let’s talk about what it looks like to stay connected, support each other, and hold onto each other through every season of marriage. If you want to follow our journey of possibly moving to our tiny cottage, head on over to Instagram @maysstaysTo follow more of me, head on over to Instagram @youmatterbymeganFor a signed copy of my new book, From Zero To Four- https://www.amazon.com/Zero-Four-Journey-Stepping-Into/dp/B0DBPBK313/ref=sr_1_1?crid=EFJ2DIJ4KF1B&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.7zpmIYJvPiOPvCaZqZGmV8izOwCFXGx4ejUnXwLPS4ZPJz9P_TJWBH6l_SgLeGP0jCKkf93yytF_qVsYUNSAhB7r-hD4T_mbIdj2rqsHgGJW2O4YprK-0s3w-82ZpP5_BJTDzMS-fzNMNe6WSjrYxLnP5z157k7ic5WN0IYMKzw430FKS4bDvIhvfVTJt1ZnAxbZLyJRr9SU1Pa1wfLsm3KgM5GQgFV539drzInkZC0.MvR2vsG1ATlaGVd9TXtiFQWldJTwj3PH7r4ydyd1IXI&dib_tag=se&keywords=from+zero+to+four+book&qid=1757351763&sprefix=from+zero+to+four+book%2Caps%2C322&sr=8-1If you are a gift-giving enthusiast or want to see all the irons I have in the fire, head on over to https://www.meganlynnmay.com/
We live in a world where being accepted, liked, and understood can feel like everything, but the truth is, you won’t be for everyone. And that’s not just okay, it’s actually a gift.In this episode, I share a simple but powerful story about an aloe vera plant my daughter found in the “sick section” of a store. She loved it until it stopped looking perfect. Just like her, I was ready to toss it aside. But something made me pause. I gave it a new pot, some care, a better environment, and over time, that little plant began to thrive. Now? It’s healthy, growing, and proudly sitting as a “people plant” in our home. This story reflects a profound truth about life: you may not always be recognized for your worth right away. You might not be in the right environment. But with care, intention, and the right people around you, you can grow into exactly who you’re meant to be.To follow more of me, head on over to Instagram @youmatterbymeganFor a signed copy of my new book, From Zero To Four- https://meganlynnmay.com/collections/from-zero-to-four-bookIf you are a gift-giving enthusiast or want to see all the irons I have in the fire, head on over to https://www.meganlynnmay.com/Follow our journey of building a tiny cottage on Instagram @maysstays

Two months ago, my youngest son, Lennon, unintentionally broke my heart. Not because of anything he did, but because of what my husband Jake and I allowed. We kept choosing the easy route with technology, relying on iPads more than we should have. Over time, we saw a dramatic shift in our kids, especially Lennon, and it opened our eyes.In this episode, I share the honest story of how we took a 3-week break from screens, what led to that decision, and the surprising things we learned along the way. My hope is that our experience encourages you to take a closer look at how technology is affecting your own kids. These little humans are our greatest investment, and they deserve our very best, even when it’s hard.To follow more of me, head on over to Instagram @youmatterbymeganFor a signed copy of my new book, From Zero To Four- https://meganlynnmay.com/collections/from-zero-to-four-bookIf you are a gift-giving enthusiast or want to see all the irons I have in the fire, head on over to https://www.meganlynnmay.com/Follow our journey of building a tiny cottage on Instagram @maysstays

We are on the last episode of this fun series. The other day, I got a text that completely caught me off guard. It was from the mom of a high school friend asking if we were having a twenty-year class reunion. TWENTY years?! I hadn’t even realized that much time had passed. So crazy! That message sent me down memory lane, thinking about who I was at 18, what I cared about, and what I thought life would be like. And it got me wondering: if I could go back and talk to my teenage self, what would I say?In this episode (and the few that follow), I’m sharing the top things I would tell my 18-year-old self. The lessons, reminders, and encouragement that I’ve learned along the way. I hope this little series inspires you to reflect on your own journey and maybe even think about what you’d say to the younger version of you.To follow more of me, head on over to Instagram @youmatterbymeganFor a signed copy of my new book, From Zero To Four- https://meganlynnmay.com/collections/from-zero-to-four-bookIf you are a gift-giving enthusiast like me, check out www.youmatterboutique.comOr to truly see all the irons I have in the fire, head on over to https://www.meganlynnmay.com/
