What is matter and what provoked its formation to create stars, planets, and us? Turns out there's stuff that's even smaller than the protons and neutrons in an atom. These tiny, fundamental particles interact through 3 of the 4 unique fundamental forces which leads to the formation of composite pieces of matter, such as the protons and neutrons. The three forces and the different fundamental particles are all neatly organized in a chart called the "Standard Model," the closest we've ever gotten to a Theory of Everything.
