Description

Do you ever have deep talks with friends that just last for hours? What about the thoughts that happen right before you sleep? That happens to me all the time, and I always wish I was able to record them. In this podcast, I have convos with my friends or solo episodes about different themes: from navigating slumps and getting more confidence to exploring if the most interesting people are a little weird.... anything is game for the podcast! I'm in my early 20s and I want you to imagine you're hanging out with me, and we're just talking about life 🕺🏽

hello hello, it's me dhiambi again. i'm back with another podcast episode. today's episode is going to be about community, education, and oversharing. check out the time stamps too! time stamps✨ 0:43 people pleasing and putting yourself first, why community is everywhere, negative consequences of altruism and isolation, finding balance 9:34 education. growth mindset, time & effort, learning, finding passion/curiosity 16:18 toxic side of oversharing, using journaling as a helpful tool 18:12 creative endeavors i've been into lately! sources mentioned✨ https://hubermanlab.com/how-to-enhance-performance-and-learning-by-applying-a-growth-mindset/
let's talk about the attention economy. WAIT, don't leave this episode yet! it's not going to be a lecture about what we already know. we already know that social media platforms are getting the best engineers and the best psychologists to figure out what algorithms will give us the biggest dopamine boost and stay addicted to these apps. i'm not gonna talk about that today. in fact, i too fall victim to the social media rabbit hole! for example, yesterday i was on youtube for 8 hours! i didn't even want to watch the videos at that point, but i was too lost in the sauce. but..... it wasn't always like this. it got me thinking to 2009/2010/2011: the early stages of social media, where it didn't have as much of a chokehold on us. i wanna take a deep dive into how we operated as a society back then and maybe use that as a guide for our usage of social media today. what was life like circa 2011? here we go!
