Dr Kevin Patrick, Geography professor at IUP and author, joined me to talk about his book, Near Woods: A Year in an Allegheny Forest. The book takes the reader through four seasons in White's Woods, a 250 acre patch of woods adjacent to Indiana Pa. Emily Fisher has been out recreating in the area since she was, literally, a baby. The exposure to outdoor rec fostered a love and reverance for the outdoors in her at a young age.
