In many Pentecostal church services, music isn’t just background. It’s the emotional engine driving the entire experience. In this episode, we walk through a modern Pentecostal service step by step to show how music is often used to set the atmosphere, escalate emotions, and shape how people respond to preaching and altar calls. After serving as church musicians for 25 years, we share insider insight into the techniques that can make a room feel deeply spiritual, even when something very different may be happening. We also discuss how emotionally charged environments can make it easier for bad theology and bad doctrine to slip into people’s hearts without being tested against Scripture. And most importantly, we encourage listeners to ground their faith in truth rather than emotional hype.I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also. - 1 Corinthians 14:15 ESVLast Week: Exposing Pentecostal Leaders: The Predictable Backlash of Men in Power - EP126Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! When wolves are exposed, questioned, or spoken out against, they rarely respond with humility or accountability. More often, they respond with gaslighting, intimidation, straw man arguments, and spiritual character assassination. In this final installment of our Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing miniseries, we will break down what biblical exposure actually is, who Scripture says should engage in it, and the guardrails that must surround it. Then, we will examine real-world examples of the predictable backlash that follows when light enters dark, power-protecting systems. If you’ve ever been labeled rebellious, bitter, or deceived for simply asking honest questions, this live conversation will help you understand why that response is so common—and why it isn’t a reflection of your heart or motives.Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. - Ephesians 5:11 (ESV)Last Week: Wolves in the Pulpit: How False Teachers Distort Truth and Enslave Believers - EP125Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! False teachers rarely sound dangerous. They often appear sincere, biblical, and deeply convincing, all while quietly distorting the very truths believers rely on. In this episode, we explore how Scripture warns us to recognize false teachers, the subtle patterns they share, and the damaging fruit that unhealthy doctrine produces. From fear and exhaustion to salvation insecurity and confusion, false teaching leaves real consequences in its wake. Join us as we learn together how to protect ourselves from wolves in sheep’s clothing and their false teachings. But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies… -2 Peter 2:1 ESVLast Week: Get Involved: How Controlling Churches Turn Service Into a Trap - EP123Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! Not every “Word from God” is actually from God. In this episode, we examine how false prophetic claims and emotional promises can deeply wound believers and distort faith. What does Scripture actually say about false prophets, and how should Christians test these wolves in sheep’s clothing? We explore the cultural normalization of modern prophecy and ask a difficult but necessary question: are you sitting under a MOG who is a false prophet? Join us as we expose the despicable character that Christ warned believers about. We hope and pray you find encouragement and that your damaged faith is healed by Jesus’ never-ending restoration and freedom. When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken… - Deuteronomy 18:22 ESV Last Week: Get Involved: How Controlling Churches Turn Service Into a Trap - EP123Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! What happens when “serving God” quietly turns into obligation, guilt, and burnout? In this episode, we expose how Pentecostal churches often trap people through involvement - where volunteering becomes identity, identity becomes leverage, and leaving feels impossible. We examine how hustle-based Christianity replaces trust in Christ with performance, and it ties faithfulness to exhaustion and blessings. Then we interrupt that narrative with Scripture, showing that God doesn’t call believers to depletion. Tune in if your church involvement feels like nonstop work instead of service to God. We want to share the message of Jesus with you: You can rest, you can have peace, and you can be free!Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:28 ESVLast Week: Undignified Dancing: How Pentecostals Confuse Chaos for the Holy Spirit - EP122Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! Pentecostal worship culture often teaches that losing control is proof the Holy Spirit is moving, and David’s dance seems to be their main justification. In this episode, we break down what Scripture actually says about David’s worship, why “undignified” doesn’t mean chaotic, and how the Holy Spirit never produces disorder or self-promotion. We examine how David’s wife, Michal, has been unfairly demonized to shame anyone who won’t participate in performative worship. Using biblical context and New Testament teaching, we expose how worship has been turned into a works-based performance system. And we encourage survivors who were pressured to “prove” their spirituality to rest in the freedom of grace.Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. - Matthew 6:1 ESVLast Week: Hell Has Room For You? | The Missing Hope in Pentecostal Hell Sermons - EP121Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! Pentecostal ‘Dread Talks’ about hell aren’t just intense, they’re often completely hopeless, designed to keep believers terrified and uncertain about salvation. In this episode, we react to David Jennings’ sermon titled “Hell Has Room For You,” and expose the dangerous way Oneness preachers use Scripture to shift salvation onto human effort…even screaming “SAVE YOURSELF!” We’ll show why quoting Luke 22:31 without Luke 22:32 removes the very thing Jesus intended to give believers: security and assurance. Then we’ll rebuild biblical hope, proving that hell was not made for believers and that salvation is finished, sealed, and secure in Christ alone. If you’ve ever struggled with fear of hell after leaving a high-control church, this episode is for you, and we pray it finally replaces dread with gospel hope.Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. - Luke 22:31-32 ESVLast Week: Prayer Pressure: How Pentecostals Distort Communion…and How It’s Restored - EP120Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! Prayer is a beautiful privilege in Scripture. But high-control, Pentecostal churches often twist it into a quota, a ritual, and a fear-based performance. In this episode, we expose how church leaders distort prayer into a work, a weapon, a decree, and even a “doorway” to miracles and breakthrough. We play clips that show just how manipulative prayer teaching can get, especially when it’s used to control behavior and keep people tethered to the system. Then we rebuild a biblical framework for prayer that is simple, honest, and rooted in the access we already have through Jesus Christ. If prayer has felt confusing, guilt-inducing, or even triggering since leaving a controlling church, this episode is here to bring you peace and rest. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. - Matthew 6:6 ESVLast Week: Forced Fasting: How Controlling Churches Turn Discipline Into Duty - EP119Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! January is open fasting season in Oneness Pentecostalism. Complete with promised breakthroughs, pressure from the pulpit, and guilt for anyone who doesn’t participate. In this episode, we walk through what the Bible actually shows about fasting, and why it was never meant to be a bargaining chip with God. We look at the dangers of transactional fasting, superstitious promises, and the shame many believers carry when they “don’t do it right.” Then we contrast that with healthy, grace-centered fasting rooted in humility, dependence, and wisdom. No fears attached. Our hope is that you leave lighter, understanding that you are fully loved in Christ whether you fast or don’t, and that any fasting you choose comes from freedom, not obligation. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret… - Matthew 6:18 ESVLast Week: Abusive Pastors: Different Churches, Same Playbook — A Year in Review - EP118Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! This end-of-year episode pulls together everything we’ve exposed throughout 2025 about pastors. It isn’t to relive the damage, but to show how predictable abusive leadership really is. We walk through the repeated patterns of spiritual abuse in churches we’ve seen: unquestionable authority, emotional manipulation, spiritual fear, loyalty tests, and relentless image protection. Using clips, scripture, and real conversations, we demonstrate how the same blueprint keeps resurfacing across churches, pastors, and platforms, and why recognizing it matters. We also talk about how Jesus leads very differently, offering grace, truth, and freedom rather than fear and control. If you’ve ever wondered whether what you experienced was “just your church,” we pray this 2025 wrap-up episode brings clarity, courage, and relief. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Grace-believers are constantly accused of wanting permission to sin — but it’s a claim we’ve never taught, believed, or practiced. In this episode, we expose how high-control church leaders knowingly misrepresent grace in order to maintain fear, obedience, and power. We walk through Scripture to dismantle the false claims that assurance leads to laziness, works prove salvation, and leaving abusive systems means rejecting Christ. If you’ve been shamed, mischaracterized, or pressured for trusting Jesus alone, this episode is for you. What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? This time we break down the ever-changing culture of Holiness Pentecostalism and what those constant shifts reveal about the true source of these rules. They show how pastors claim “we haven’t changed,” even while standards move from church to church, decade to decade, and sometimes week to week. Through clips, Scripture, and personal experience, we expose how double standards and pastoral-made rules create deep spiritual confusion—especially for lifelong members who were taught these rules were salvific. We also highlight how hypocrisy within the system shapes your view of God, your identity, and your confidence in your own relationship with Him. And through it all, we remind you that God’s Word doesn’t change, Jesus doesn’t change, the gospel doesn’t change, and your salvation was never tied to a moving target. You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men. - Mark 7:8 ESVLast Week: Double Standards: The Confusion of Ever-Changing Holiness Rules – EP115Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! In this week’s episode, we break down the top five fallacies and straw-man arguments used throughout Oneness Pentecostalism and high-control church systems. We examine how these unsubstantiated assertions show up in sermons, conferences, and private pastoral conversations, and why they’re theologically unsound. From Acts 2:38 as a universal salvation formula, to tithing as a salvation requirement, these claims have shaped the beliefs of millions. Using Scripture, history, and logic, we show why these teachings crumble under biblical examination. If you’re beginning to question what you’ve been taught, this episode will bring clarity, freedom, and reassurance that your salvation is found in Christ alone….not in man-made rules. For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. - Galatians 5:1 ESVLast Week: Mind Games: The Psychological Damage of Hyper-Fundamental Upbringings – EP113Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! Spending years in a hyper-fundamental Pentecostal system leaves far more than spiritual experiences. It shapes the mind, wiring people for fear, perfectionism, suppression, and dependence. In this episode, we break down five major psychological damages commonly seen amongst those within high-control church environments. We’ll explain how these patterns form, what they look like in everyday life, and why they follow so many, even long after leaving. Most importantly, we explore the healing, growth, and freedom found in Jesus Christ, who restores identity, rewires thinking, and gently leads His people into peace. If you’ve ever wondered why you think, feel, or react the way you do after escaping fundamentalism, this conversation will finally give you clarity, language, and hope. Hope in Jesus. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:7 ESVLast Week: From Shepherd to Superstar | Exposing the Celebrity Pastor Culture – EP112Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! October may be Pastor Appreciation Month, but on this episode, we’re exposing the dangerous rise of the Celebrity Pastor Industrial Complex and Pentecostal Cult of Personality. From “my pulpit” to “double honor,” we unpack how Scripture has been twisted to justify fame, entitlement, and idolatry in the name of “honor.” You’ll hear shocking clips from real sermons that prove many pastors now function more like CEOs and influencers than humble shepherds. We’ll also explore what a true biblical leader looks like, and how Jesus, the Good Shepherd, tore the veil so you could walk freely into the presence of God. This week we’re asking a hard question: Has your pastor become your master? From overbearing MOGs (“men of God”) who demand obedience and loyalty, to pulpits filled with control, threats, and manipulation, we’re exposing the dark side of Pentecostal leadership culture. Using real sermon clips, we reveal how these pastors twist shepherding into servitude, while calling it “spiritual authority.” Then, we open Scripture to show what biblical leadership actually looks like: humble, servant-hearted, and accountable. Listen in if you know what it’s like to be controlled, silenced, or spiritually suffocated. This episode will remind you that Christ called you to freedom, not slavery. For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. - Galatians 1:10 ESVLast Week: Grace Replaced | The Gospel According to the UPCI – General Conference 2025 Breakdown – EP110Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! Eighty years of “truth,” and still no gospel. In this week’s episode, we expose how the 2025 UPCI General Conference wasn’t a celebration of grace — it was a recentering of loyalty around a man-made system. From David K. Bernard’s “grace that changes your wardrobe” to Jerry Jones’ “tongues or you’re not saved,” this episode pulls back the curtain on a works-based gospel disguised as holiness. We highlight the control and the endless circling of the wagons that keeps this institution standing. Join us as we point to the simple truth that Jesus is enough — salvation really is by grace through faith alone. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. - Colossians 1:18 ESVLast Week: Mammon or Manipulation | Who Really Has the Money Problem? – EP109Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!! Have you ever been told you had a “money problem” because you hesitated to give sacrificially in a service? In this episode, we turn the accusation around and ask: is it really the saints who have a problem with mammon, or is it the preachers who can’t stop talking about money? We’ll debunk the misuse of Ananias and Sapphira, the false idea that giving unlocks authority, and the manipulative claim that hesitation in giving is disobedience to God. With sermon clips and clear biblical rebuttals, we expose how Pentecostal pulpits twist Scripture to shame people into giving. Most importantly, we encourage those who have felt condemned—you are free in Christ, and your worth isn’t measured by your wallet. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. -2 Peter 2:3 ESVLast Week: No More Knots | Disentangling After Leaving a Pentecostal Church – EP108Playlists:Full Podcast Playlist - YoutubeHoliness StandardsThe Church BuildingExamining PentecostalismThe “MOG” (Man of God)All About The MoneyAbuse In The PulpitAddressing NAYC CommentsFEAR!!!
