Get ready to be inspired, my friends!! After a life altering accident, Patric found himself re-evaluating everything - his perspective, his priorities, and his purpose. He is still very much in the middle of this pain in many ways, but his faith in God could move mountains. This conversation is full of how to navigate the hard in life with nothing, but a posture of gratitude. He is now an author, speaker, and he started a foundation to help others who have been through tragedy similar to his. So much we can learn through Patric's story. You can follow Patric on Instagram @patricyoung4 -- For more about his foundation or to buy his book: https://www.patricyoung.com/   -- You can follow along all things Neighbors Podcast on Instagram @neighbors_podcast  -- To reach out, you can email Ali.neighborspodcast@gmail.com

Pastor One (pronounced “oh-nay”) is one of the most inspiring and insightful individuals I have ever sat across from. One is the lead pastor of Rooted Fellowship church in Pretoria, South Africa and the Network Director of Africa for Acts29. His unique life experience paired with his wisdom in leadership and gospel-centered fellowship left me literally throwing my planned questions out the window and saying “tell me more”. I was personally pastored in this episode and I hope you are too!  Give One a follow on instagram @onemokgatle -- You can follow along all things Neighbors Podcast on Instagram @neighbors_podcast  -- To reach out, you can email Ali.neighborspodcast@gmail.com
I have known Stacey for 25 years. We grew up one street over from one another and she was, and is, my older sister's best friend which means I have looked up to Stacey since the moment I met her. I have watched her pursue Jesus and love people so fiercely through the hard seasons and the joyful seasons. She says yes to so many things people wouldn’t even consider saying yes to (you'll hear her downplay that, but don't let it fool you). Things like moving to Northern Ireland to be a long term missionary and child play therapist. Her life has emulated what it means to trust God’s call on your life. To say yes even when you can’t see the ending.  Give Stacey a follow on instagram @staceywheale (including Mushu the Cat content)  -- You can follow along all things Neighbors Podcast on Instagram @neighbors_podcast  -- To reach out, you can email Ali.neighborspodcast@gmail.com
Singer, songwriter, musician, and worship leader, JereMiah Carr, aka Dozzy Daniel, is a party on the podcast this week. You may have seen him jumping and dancing around the stage leading worship, but find out where that comes from and his “why” in life. We talk about childhood dreams, battling rejection and expectations, Godly confidence, and why family legacy matters.  Give JereMiah a follow on instagram @dozzydaniel and find his music under Dozzy Daniel anywhere you stream music  -- You can follow along all things Neighbors Podcast on Instagram @neighbors_podcast  -- To reach out, you can email Ali.neighborspodcast@gmail.com
Once or twice a season, I want to just tell people's stories. A storyteller episode, if you will. No better way to start it than with Audrey Sower's story. Listen to how she unexpectedly became a foster mom overnight. Yep, literally overnight. Her story is one of surprises, hardship, God's sovereignty, endurance, and continually putting her yes on the table. I know your eyes will be opened to some realities of the foster care world and how we all have a part to play in it. Be inspired by my sweet friend, Audrey. -- You can follow along all things Neighbors Podcast on Instagram @neighbors_podcast  -- To reach out, you can email Ali.neighborspodcast@gmail.com

Our first ever episode!! I had to start off this podcast with one of my most amazing, iconic friends, Caitlin Armstrong. We kick it off with how Neighbors got it's name, the meaning of friendship and what God says about it, the reality of "mom anger" and how to find freedom in it, and why the Bible matters and we should all read it (with some helpful tips along the way)! I am so excited to be on this journey with you, thank you for joining us!  Resources that Caitlin mentions: Bible Project: https://bibleproject.com Books: Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund; Women of the Word by Jen Wilkin -- You can follow along all things Neighbors Podcast on Instagram @neighbors_podcast  -- To reach out, you can email Ali.neighborspodcast@gmail.com
This week’s episode we have the queen of fun, Annie F. Downs. We go back to how Annie got into writing, podcasting, and speaking. While she has pursued a life of fun and play, she’s also walked dark and grieving seasons. The word through it all is endurance. Enduring seasons and staying the course of what God has called you to do is what has made up her last 10+ years of doing this. As always, she’ll make you laugh, she’ll make you think, and she’ll point you to Jesus.  Follow her on instagram @anniefdowns -- You can follow along all things Neighbors Podcast on Instagram @neighbors_podcast  -- To join our Patreon community, The Neighborhood, go to: www.patreon.com/neighborspodcast -- For merch or to get a copy of Daughter, head to our website: www.theneighborspodcast.com -- To reach out, you can email Ali.neighborspodcast@gmail.com
This week’s episode is Rebecca Maxwell, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a great friend of Neighbors. Rebecca just launched her first book into the world, Jesus and Your Mental Health. We unpack the Biblical nature of our mind and our universal need to pursue mental wellness along with some of the barriers in our world and culture. We also discuss some of the trends in the mental health space; how the pendulum has a tendency to swing too far in one direction and how we can all be a part of a middle ground. As always, she is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the integration of faith and science.    You can buy her book on Amazon HERE   And follow her on instagram @rebeccamaxinjax  -- You can follow along all things Neighbors Podcast on Instagram @neighbors_podcast  -- To join our Patreon community, The Neighborhood, go to: www.patreon.com/neighborspodcast -- For merch or to get a copy of Daughter, head to our website: www.theneighborspodcast.com -- To reach out, you can email Ali.neighborspodcast@gmail.com
This week we have actress, screenwriter, and producer, Masey McLain, who shares on the realities of Hollywood and the film industry and how she has committed to be a light for Jesus right where He has planted her. She has had to make hard decisions based on her convictions and in “hidden” seasons she has had to hold fast to the truth of who God says she is.  We talk about the dangerous game of comparison, ministry is where you are, and the lie of “missing out”. So much truth and encouragement in this episode. AND we are celebrating Masey’s newest film she is featured in, Soul on Fire, go see and support it!  You can follow along with Masey on Instagram @maseymclain -- You can follow along all things Neighbors Podcast on Instagram @neighbors_podcast  -- To join our Patreon community, The Neighborhood, go to: www.patreon.com/neighborspodcast -- For merch or to get a copy of Daughter, head to our website: www.theneighborspodcast.com -- To reach out, you can email Ali.neighborspodcast@gmail.com
17 years ago, The Workmans packed up their life, moved to Uganda, and started Okoa Refuge. What started as a home for children in need has turned into many different projects transforming communities and spreading the gospel throughout Uganda and beyond. Their relentless pursuit to just go where God is calling has fueled this ministry beyond their wildest imaginations. In partnership with the government, they are quite literally changing the entire landscape of their community. And it hasn’t been without suffering. What you’ll hear in this episode is a family and ministry who chooses hard things knowing they serve a good God who has called and appointed them for such a time as this. My hope is that you are encouraged in your own journey to choose the hard knowing how good the God we serve is. This week we are sitting down with my very own pastor, Joby Martin. Inside of every man is the question, “do I have what it takes?”. We talk about where that originates and how the ache of risk, danger, and adventure lives inside of every man. This world has tried hard to dull it, but the Bible says otherwise. It was such a fun conversation about how all of us can play a part in cultivating space for our men to flourish. Because where men lead and love well, everyone flourishes.  Be sure to buy Pastor Joby’s book, Stand Firm and Act Like Men, anywhere books are sold. It’s for any man and anyone that knows a man 😉 Follow along with Pastor Joby @jobypmartin -- You can follow along all things Neighbors Podcast on Instagram @neighbors_podcast  -- To join our Patreon community, The Neighborhood, go to: www.patreon.com/neighborspodcast -- For merch or to get a copy of Daughter, head to our website: www.theneighborspodcast.com -- To reach out, you can email Ali.neighborspodcast@gmail.com
In today's audio only episode, I sit down with my friend and Bible teacher, Caitlin Armstrong, to process what has been happening in our country this past week alongside the truth of who God is and what His Word says. We know it's been a heavy week and at the same time, we are seeing God move in a mighty way in His Church and this country. We hold onto a hope beyond what we can see knowing we serve a real and good God.   Scriptures we reference: Habakkuk 1 Luke 6:27-28 Acts 7   Key takeaways: 1. Guard your inputs 2. Anchor in scripture 3. Pray for our enemies 4. Share your faith   Due to the last minute nature, this episode is audio only from our Patreon community. We’d love for you to join us on Patreon for $5/month to get weekly conversations with Ali Parsons and Caitlin Armstrong. If there is someone who has wrestled out what the intersection between faith and work is, it’s Jordan Raynor. With his spitfire energy and unique lens at which he evaluates the character and nature of God, he shows us this beautiful integration between work and faith. He unpacks what it means that God is a working God and why that matters in your life whether you are a CEO, stay at home mom, or garbage collector. We get super practical (always a win) with disciplines you can start implementing into your life right now!  For more on Jordan Raynor, you can go to https://www.jordanraynor.com/ -- You can follow along all things Neighbors Podcast on Instagram @neighbors_podcast  -- To join our Patreon community, The Neighborhood, go to: www.patreon.com/neighborspodcast -- For merch or to get a copy of Daughter, head to our website: www.theneighborspodcast.com -- To reach out, you can email Ali.neighborspodcast@gmail.com
