Today's play is entitled "Natural" (https://newplayexchange.org/script/2023006/natural) and comes to us from Dana Leslie Goldstein (https://newplayexchange.org/users/5406/dana-leslie-goldstein & https://danalesliegoldstein.com/) a playwright and Lyricist Dana Leslie Goldstein with numerous awards to her name including the New England New Play Competition, Harold and Mimi Steinberg Playwriting Prize and Different Voices New Play Award. She is a librettist in the BMI/Lehmann Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, and a playwright member of The Workshop Theater as well as holding MFA degrees in both Playwriting and Poetry.
Synopsis:
Erica and Maggie couldn’t be more different, or at least that’s how it seems to them. When Erica, very pregnant and two weeks overdue, begs Maggie to use her acupuncture and massage skills to help her go into labor, the sisters embark on an unexpected path.

She's had word produced on 4 continents and in 45 states and has had more than 430 productions of her plays around the world so its a thrill to be showcasing her play "The Cleaning Lady's Corpse".
Synopsis:
It's a tough real estate market, and just when a couple gets a showing on their "For Sale" condo, they find a dead body in their bedroom. It's the cleaning lady! What happened? and why? And how do they explain a dead body to the potential buyers, who are almost at the door?

A man struggling with the decision to let his comatose wife go sits on a park bench when a serene woman approaches and engages him in conversation. Through their talk, she discusses things she could not possibly know. But know, she does. In so doing, she helps him reflect on his love for his wife and the pain of holding on. Will he be able to let go and listen to this stranger about a possible new future with a chance for closure, or will he be stuck in the agony of the present?

This weeks play comes from Manchester based playwright Lucy singer who is student and a writer with a preference for dark comedy stories that test the limits of realism. She's also excited to be a part of the series so
here's hoping we do her play justice.
Lucy's play is entitled "My Work Friends Boyfriend" and when talking about it Lucy says "The idea of the play came to me from my love of dark comedy, and being able to make audiences laugh but also feel slightly uncomfortable

Synopsis:
When talking about this play Rosie says "I'd been listening to an analysis on Quentin Tarantino, which essentially said that the reason his work is so compelling is due to the way his characters are always in conflict. I set about trying to adopt this style for a short script, I had also been getting into true crime, and this idea just naturally appeared on the page."

Synopsis:
Ros asks her best friend Marge to meet for a coffee and catch up. Ros is not her usual self. She
thinks her husband Paul is having an affair. So who best to turn to for advice other than her most
trusted friend Marge who has been through a similar experience herself.
