The Anointing The Sick Metal Blog presents another deathly sermon of exteme metal carnage. 30 death metal tracks of absolute annihilation. Non curated for maximum devastation. Bandcamp links for each band are here https://www.anointingthesick.com/2026/03/anointing-sick-dirty-30-death-metal-vol.html~ Wallow In Sickness ~Abscession / Batholith / Cancer Spreading / Darkrypt / Ekpyrosis / Farsoth / Genocide Pact / Haserot / Ilsa / Jesus Chrüsler Supercar / Kampvogn / Last Retch / Machetazo / Necrobastard / Obscure / Param - Nesia / Question / Rancorum / Sadist / Temple Of Dread / Unbounded Terror / Vastum / Wayward Dawn / Xul / YHWH / Zora / 1914 / The Absence / Battlestorm / Cancerbero
'Soon It Will Be Over! What, the world?  The way things are panning out, maybe. Here's a soundtrack to it all. Sixteen bands celebrating carnage starting with the grinding doom death of Slimelord and ending with some ravenous death metal from Storm Upon The Masses. I have included a couple of bands that made my 'Best Of 2025' albums, Birds Of Nazca and Cryptic Process plus a couple of bands that if I were compiling a longer list, would surely have been featured, KLPS and Dark Indication.                                                                     ~ Wallow In Sickness ~SlimelordCryptic ProcessBeware Of GodsSons Of HadesNeckbreakerEmissaryBirds Of NazcaGiant LungsKLPSDark IndicationAnti-SapienWeedowKitsaMoltenGoat MajorStorm Upon The Masses
It's such a difficult task somehow choosing 20 exceptional albums from a vintage year of incredible extreme underground metal releases. I had a shortlist but the albums I chose could have filled a dozen 'Best of 2025' lists, so I had to be extra disciplined. Stoner in it's various forms dominated my most played but doom and sludge featured regularly also. The scene was saturated with some excellent new death metal albums and my podcast show has played a lot of tech death, however I've come up with three that, although not reinventing the wheel, once I'd finished playing their albums, I felt pretty satisfied with what the bands had acheived.I'm happy with the top 20 I've ended up with and I hope there is something in here that helps you  discover a gem you may have missed. All Bandcamp links are listed on the Anointing The Sick Metal Blog https://www.anointingthesick.com/Wallow in Sickness with albums by ~Crimson Storm / Sweetbeast /  Klastos / Kiritsis / Burden Of Despair / Behölder / Birdwitch / The Chris Rolling Squad / Afghan Haze / Hibernaut / Heidrún / Birds Of Nazca / Black Charger / Pale Horse Ritual / Darah / Tria Prima / The Bateleurs / Turtle Skull / Cryptic Process / Azell
Here's something to evaporate any remaining festive cheer. 30 tracks from 30 death metal bands of all levels of depravity. Volume 4 contained a few melodic death metal songs but volume 5 is a full on relentless assault on your hearing. Underground metal mayhem in the latest Anointing The Sick Metal Blog show 'Lying Under The Shadow Of The Tombstone' starting with the epic traditional doom of Astral Sleep and ending with a further two doom tracks from Pale Horse Ritual and Isole. This weeks 'Dose Of Death' features 3 tracks of quite different death metal bands Demiurgus, Acid Death and Tria Prima.*Edit*Heartfelt sympathy to the guys of Kelevra who have recently lost a much loved band member Adrienne Mahoney R.I.PAstral SleepNovichokMutilated By ZombiesKollapseKelevraCell PressBlack ChargerPestaDarathOctotankerDead Hits                       * Free Download (BC)DemiurgusAcid DeathTria PrimaPale Horse RitualIsole
Another non curated playlist to tickle your tinnitus and fry your senses. This time its 30 stoner bands so expect plenty of fuzz, wah and endless jams. As usual I've tried to keep it original with plenty of bands that you may not be familiar with. I took a lot of pleasure compiling this list and I hope you get a lot of pleasure listening to it. There's a place even deeper than The Ninth Circle of Hell and it's called the Anointing The Sick Metal Blog and what could be more apt than opening the show with a band called Horrible with a track off their album 'Filth then following up with some nihilistic party slop from deathsters Trunk, both albums can be purchased for NYP on Bandcamp. There's a heavy stoner/doom/psych presence this week including albums from Dusted Angel and Stone Machine Electric that entered September's Doom Charts. The random pick this week and also the showpiece track is the immense sludge of Sea Bastard. I saw them a couple of times in Manchester years ago supporting the likes of Graves at Sea and Sourvein and I never recovered.~ Wallow In Sickness ~Horrible                                     NYP - BandcampTrunk                                          NYP - BandcampThorndaleDusted Angel                           #14 Sept 2025 Doom ChartsGodzilla Was Too Drunk To Destroy TokyoAtomic SamanStone Machine Electric         #27 Sept 2025 Doom ChartsThe BateleursBirds Of NazcaBeneath The KudzuVovkBirdwitchAzellProtocol F40.1AnomicSea Bastard
Time for another 'Dirty 30' Playlist and this time around it's a Doom one. Here you have slow doom (obviously) fast doom, jolly, jaunty doom and nasty black doom. Some of these bands fell to dust many years ago but others are very much alive. It's in two parts. Imagination holds no bounds when you listen to an Anointing The Sick Metal Blog show and its a particularly sick one this week, opening  with a track off the incoming sludge monster 'Astralis' by Azell. There's lots of doom, death and general carnage and the filth pit has been very bountiful this week. There are tracks from new albums that have been a highlight for me over the last couple of weeks from Treasondom, Supernaughty, Malthusian, God's Funeral, Heidrun, Molosser Crude and Sars. The show closes with a doom monster from the often surprisingly melodic Pallbearer.~Wallow In Sickness ~AzellZakk SabbathFirewindClarion VoidAngmodnesTigers On OpiumHands Of GoroBlazarTreasondomSupernaughtyMalthusianGod's FuneralHeidrunMolosser CrudeSarsPallbearer
Show #243 We Are The Fallen is now available to download or generally piss off Granny. This is the most extreme show I've done in a while courtesy of Haepethral records and aided and abetted by the ugly sounds of some of my favourite new releases from False Gods, Afghan Haze, Tar Pit, Mud Valley alongside new groove laden thrash tunes from Silius.  Speaking of thrash, I'm playing Messiah for the first time in a while and a new thrash discovery for me, Drain Down as well as Sentry. Doom Charts is represented by Kitsa from last year. This show opens with a nasty dose of doomy tunes by PVRS and there's a filthy full stop with Mexican deathsters Cathartic. Among all this carnage I've ladled even more doom with a track by We Follow The Earth and added some stoner acid from Space Coke. A modicum of sanity is offered by a savage brand of grunge from Fuzz Forward.~ Wallow In Sickness ~PVRSKitsaSpace CokeFuzz ForwardDemonic PossessorDrain DownQaalmMessiahWe Follow The EarthSentryMud ValleyFalse GodsSiliusAfghan HazeTar PitCathartic
Over 2 hours of unrelenting and uninterrupted death metal to download. This playlist is a serpent with many heads and highlights  how diverse the genre actually is with elements of thrash, grind, doom, sludge, crust and even prog. I hope you enjoy the selection of songs as much as I enjoyed compiling them . Prepare to be double tapped by the latest Anointing The Sick Metal Blog Show 'High Velocity Impact.' Levels of depravity are varied with a post sludge opener from Guiltless and a flagellating close from arch rip fiends Graveripper. Inbetween I've highlighted tracks from recently released albums that have shaken the Anointing The Sick Metal Blog foundations from Hibernaut, Red Vinter, Three Towers and The Bonnevilles as well as songs from highly recommended albums released last year. The showpiece track is a droning sludgy doom  monster from Azimut while the filth pit dredged up El Cerdo all slimy and dripping!~ Embrace The Sickness ~GuiltlessCutthroatScarefieldPissing RazorsKorrosiveSlaughterrorEl CerdoFreyaAzimutSutratmaYoreHibernautRed VinterThree TowersThe BonnevillesGraveripper
Its tiome for more purulent discharge in the form of another Anointing The Sick Show highlighting the very best in extreme metal. There is a heavy doom chart prescence this week with the show kicking off with Italian stoners Rhino. Much of this episode contains stner doom bands but the filth pit has spewed forth some inpenetrable blackened deathgrind in the form of Maurda. As usual, I've highlighted some albums you may have missed last year but the second part of the show gives a taste of what has been on offer over the last few weeks and are highly recommended by the Blog. The show closes  with a killer song from 2014 from stoner doomsters Let It Breathe.~ Embrace The Sickness ~Rhino                                           #15 Doom Charts Feb 2024Lucifer                                        #7 Doom Charts Jan 2024MaurdaDecrownedApotropaicoJob For A CowboyBlack Helium                               #13 Doom Charts Jun 2025Holyroller                                      #11 Doom Charts Jun 2025Doomsday ProfitMckenzie HillsHypoxiaLife CyclesKing Potenaz                                #3 Doom Charts Jun 2025Pilotos Del Tiempo                     #39 Doom Charts Jun 2025Spider Kitten                                #21 Doom Charts jun 2025Let It Breathe
All aboard hahahahahaha!! It's destination pain on today's Anointing The Sick Show right down to the final track from funeral doom death band Wastes. As usual I've got you covered for albums you may have missed last year that you should be listening to as well as a couple of tracks from recent releases that have well and truly hit the mark with the blog from Fuzzriders and Vaneno. I don't often play singles but am excited to feature a song off the incoming new album Black Static from Boneyard. Hallelujah! The Anointing The Sick show is back! Starting with a crust / punk classic and ending with a dose of pummelling sludge. I haven't done a label feature in a while so this week a spotlight falls on Drowning In Chaos Records with three brutal death and black metal bands from that stable  Cryptic Process, Fadeaux and Obsidyen. Reecent releases that you really should be checking out are by Beware Of Gods, Blind Mess, Spiral Guru and Madmess. ~Embrace The Sickness ~DoomSpiral GuruEmperors LairCathode ULTCryptic ProcessFardeauxObsidyenAggressionSun Of GreyBeware Of GodsBlind MessMadmessThe Chris Rolling SquadI Bleed LavaInherusDrawersWolves Carry My Name

Opening with the folky, doomy tones of Distorted Reflection and bleeding out with the Italian jams of Rainbow Bridge inbetween is a cacophony of thrash, death, doom and a lengthy section of stoner sounds.
