Forget the Oasis reunion, the CobPod is back! Join Pete, Lunny, Alex and Mick as we dive back into preseason. Listen in to Charley and Fin Want lift the lid on training and who's finding the preseason fitness a little harder after some time away - this is place! Plus, we have a special feature on the Women's Rugby World Cup and all the usual news from around the club. Enjoy!
This is our first episode dedicated to Rugby at large, that is any news that's not about Cobham. This week the boys cover the Investec Champions Cup and other players in the spotlight.  As usual, we have our team hosted by Mick and his panel of rugby statisticians Pete, Blissy, and Duncan. We are back and it feels good after a long break. A slight change to proceedings; we are now releasing two (2) pods each week. One covering Cobham and the other covering Rugby at large. So we are giving you two scoops or just one depending on what you fancy. This week we are delighted to have Nick Grecian CEO of London Scottish as our special guest. We also do a deep dive into all the Cobham matches from the weekend from the minis up to the senior teams. As usual, we have our team hosted by Mick and his panel of rugby statisticians Pete, Blissy, and Duncan. The last pod for 2023 is recorded at "Pod Quarters" (Sneds Annex) before our Christmas party. We have "Sir" Chris Melts as our special guest as we find out how he got involved in rugby and what keeps him going. We also have the living legend that is Andrew Murphy (Murph) as our quiz contestant of which this week's questions are quite random. We got started a tad late as our host was hot-stepping back from London from his work Xmas do, which meant the team was well hydrated by the time producer Mark gave the 3,2,1 countdown. We are going to be taking a break until the new year so wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2024. As usual, we have our team hosted by Mick and his panel of rugby statisticians Pete, Blissy, and Duncan. It's the 12th episode of the Cob Pod and this week we find ourselves in Mick's "Shoffice" (Shed/Office). The gang are all huddled around their mics and a bottle of Sloe Gin as if they were warming their hands around a campfire. All the Mo’s are still there with some counting down the days to remove said Mo. This week we have a couple of guests on the show, some real Cobham Club boys. The immortal Richie Marshall joins in to talk about his career and reflect on the club over the last twenty-something years. Our other clubman and age-defying backrower is Andy Taylor who joins us from his "Shoffice" built by, yes you guessed it, Richie Marshall. As usual, we have our team hosted by Mick and his panel of rugby statisticians Pete, Blissy, and Duncan. Episode 9 of the Cob Pod was recorded upstairs at the club on Monday, Nov 6th. Mick brought his kids so we made a creche and chucked in some snacks - they were brilliant. Blissy and Pete huddled around the table with our Braveheart host and got stuck into our first episode since the World Cup. Our special guests this week are Grace Crompton and Gabriella Nigrelli of the Bristol Bears, both former Cobham girls. We hear about their journey and find out what they are up to. The mailbag was full of great questions and finally our very own “Kenny Rogers” takes on the quiz in an effort to win 3 bags of Billy Tong Biltong.
