Seattle's favorite sports show with Brock Huard and Mike Salk.

2410 Episodes

We react to our favorite things said by guests like Joel Klatt, Daniel Jeremiah, Rich Eisen and more this week on our show in For You: In Review. Then, we discuss this weekend's wild card games, the Fiesta Bowl, and Demond Williams reversing course and staying at UW in Need to Know. Plus, we take your calls, as we do every Friday.
Brock and Salk compare the relatability of Sam Darnold to both Russell Wilson and Geno Smith and discuss why his presence has been so important for this team. After that, Gee Scott stops by for his weekly appearance.
Salk believes there is a reason for Seahawks fans to root for the Rams this weekend and he explains why that is. They then bring on Brady Henderson of ESPN to get his insight on the upcoming wild card weekend, some Seahawks injuries, reasons why they'bve had so much success and more.
Maura and Lyle open the show by discussing a few different reasons as to why the Seahawks are where they are as the No. 1 seed in the NFC as they enter their bye on wild card weekend. Later, they re-air their conversation with former Seahawk Bryan Walters on what jumped out to him in the win over the 49ers, Sam Darrnold and much more.
We discuss how fun it is watching this Seahawks team evolve into what they are now and discuss the biggest reasons they ended up atop the NFC. Then, we discuss Russell Wilson switching agents and Demond Williams Jr's agent Doug Henderson dropping him as a client.
The hour starts with a bunch of funny listener voicemails for Here's The Thing. After that, they spin Around The NFC and preview a few of the NFC Wild Card games (and tie into how it impacts the Seahawks) with Matt Spiegel of 670 The Score in Chicago, Grant Cohn of Sports Illustrated in San Francisco and Sam Farmer of the LA Times in Los Angeles.
Brock and Salk discuss how the Seahawks are poised to do as much damage of any Seahawks team since 2014, how great each of those defensive groups were and needing to capitalize on this window. They then welcome on Rich Eisen of the NFL Network to hear his thoughts on the success of the Seahawks, Mike Macdonald, Sam Darnold and much more.
NFL windows don't forever, so Salk opens the show by discussing how important it is for the Seahawks to capitalize on this window, especially having the No. 1 seed, similar to how the 2013 Seahawks team did. Later, they re-air their conversation with Joel Klatt of FOX Sports to discuss Demond Williams, the Seahawks and more.
We continue to get vastly different answers when talking with guests about Sam Darnold. We compare what Joel Klatt, Daniel Jeremiah and Bryan Walters had to say. Then, Kraken voice John Forslund joins us to discuss the team's recent surge and what led to it. Plus, Salk crowns the first Trash Takes winner of the New Year.
The hour starts with a delayed version of Blue 88, with topics including the key to the Seahawks offensive evolution, where the Seahawks ranked in total pressures and why Jedd Fisch is the right guy to handle the Demond Williams situation and NIL contracts.
College football appears to be out of control, only further highlighted by the news of UW quarterback Demond Williams entering the transfer portal, so Brock and Salk react to it all and how they feel about the way Williams is handling the entire situation. After that, they bring on Joel Klatt of FOX Sports for his weekly segment in which he expresses all of his thoughts on Demond Williams, college football and the Seahawks chances to win it all.
...
It's been a while since the Seahawks hosted a playoff game with fans in the stands. We discuss the excitement over that and some of the games this weekend. Then, we dig into the Sam Darnold conversation and what some of the national media narrative around him is after clinching the division. Plus, we discuss whether a comfy mattress or pillow is more important when sleeping away from home, if it's acceptable to order diet coke for breakfast, and more in Answer the Quesiton Jerk.
Brock and Salk react to Mike Macdonald talking about faith in football and with his team, as it led them to a conversation about faith in sports and why it has made many athletes so successful. Later, they bring on Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network for his weekly segment in which he analyzes the Seahawks dominant defensive win over the Rams, Charles Cross, the NFC playoff field and plenty more.
Brock and Salk share some laughs about the very long Mike Macdonald pause during their conversation yesterday and compare it to the pause in their interview from a couple of years ago with former UW defensive tackle Vita Vea. They then dive further in to Sam darnold, and the idea of viewing him more as a football player rather than a quarterback specifically. In Blue 88, Brock takeas a look at some of the attitude that Mike Macdonald has learned from John Schneider, what led to the end of Pete Carroll's time with the Raiders and which head coaching job would be most enticing for Klint Kubiak.
There was a lot that stood out to Salk after their conversation yesterday with Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald, and he gies through some of it to open the show. Then, they re-air that conversation with Mike Macdonald.
Mike Macdonald joins Brock and Salk to discuss the Seahawks locking up the number one seed in the NFC with their win over the Niners Saturday, the love that these players have for one another, whether Sam Darnold using his legs more was part of the game plan, some unselfish plays that deserve a shout out, Charles Cross getting a new deal and why John Schneider should be executive of the year.
We spend some time discussing how important organizational alignment is to an NFL team's success and how the Seahawks have created that. Then, in Need to Know, we discuss the Seahawks locking up the number one seed in the NFC, Charles Cross getting a new deal, the latest on the NFL coaches being fired today, how the NFL playoff seeding turned out and the Kraken winning a shootout Friday night. **The Mike Macdonald Show can only be found exclusively on the Seattle Sports YouTube page and the Seattle Sports app until 10 am Tues morning.
Brock and Salk discuss the great Seahawks culture that has been established under Mike Macdonald and how much this group of players loves playing together. Then, they go through all of their Seahawks Takeaways after their win over the 49ers.
The Seahawks defense is truly suffocating, as they showed against the 49ers, so Brock and Salk share just how impressed they were yet again. They then debate the play of Sam Darnold and if they need more from him or not in the playoffs, as well as how many question marks still surround the Seahawks QB. In Blue 88, topics include the Seahawks Super Bowl odds, what the Seahawks will do during the first round bye and a potential new nickname for the Seahawks defense that Leonard Williams described.

After 22, the M's introduced that horrific Home Run Trident and their offense has had as much growth as a napalmed rice patty field ever since. Look, this organization has issues, but they should not be this frustrating. Get rid of that thing.

Embarrassing game that should make the fan base wake up and revolt. Stanton should never be allowed to show his face near T-Mobile without drawn and quartered. oh, and another thing, the CCs suck and should be demolished on the pitchers' mound in a Disco demolition night inspired sacrifice to the Baseball Gods for forsaking this decent city for so long.

5 great pitchers can get you to the playoffs even with a league average offense, but only in the National League.

Brock, man just do your own show. Salk sucks the fun out of thinking about the points you make. Close to unsubscribing.
