There is A LOT to talk about on this week’s episode of The Huddle and Tony and Ninja will share their thoughts on the NFL schedule release, what that means for certain teams, and much more! First though, it’s all about the NBA and NHL Playoffs as we move into the conference finals in each league. The Boston Celtics narrowly escaped the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of their ECF series, but there are three more to go across the NBA and NHL and we break down what all three have in store. Elsewhere, we dive into the Conn Smythe, NBA Finals MVP and outright futures betting markets and share our thoughts on some smart bets in each. As for the NFL, with the release of the schedule following our episode last week, we dig a little deeper into what’s been uncovered with the release of the schedule. Which teams have benefited? Which teams were dealt a bad hand? And what do we NOW think about our underrated and overrated picks from last week’s show. And Tony breaks down some thoughts on the upcoming season’s survivor pools and where his head is at for the season ahead. All that and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle!
With the 2024 NFL schedule dropping later today, Ninja and Tony take the some time to preview some things that we could see and talk about the games that we already know are out there. With these games that do have lines, is there any point to betting them? How seriously SHOULD we be taking them? And also, are there betting angles that we should be looking at with these early lines? Tony gets educational for a moment and breaks it all down for us. That said, we do know about a handful of games and sports books even have points spreads and totals for some so we’re gonna dive right and break down our thoughts for each of these and if we should do anything even though we are a few months away from the actual start of the season. But what the guys really want to do, is dig into a sleeper team and an overrated team for the 2024 season and how they could be looking forward to the release of their respective schedules to either play or fade and see how it impacts their win totals, division futures, etc. All this and much more on this week’s episode of The Huddle!
With the wildly successful Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix, the guys break down their thoughts on the 3-hour epic and give their lists of athletes they’d like to see get the same treatment. Tony breaks down trends and news and notes he’s noticing in the NHL since he’s been head-first in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, while Ninja does the same in the NBA.Also, the guys hand out the betting awards for the postseason. Teams, players, etc that have been cash cows for bettors so far. And with four cities that STILL have their hockey team and their basketball team left standing, which city has the BEST chance to win both? All that and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle!
With the 2024 NFL Draft now complete, Andrew and Tony break down some of the teams that had the best drafts and some of the teams that didn’t quite hit the mark. First though, the guys wonder whether or not Detroit should be the home of the NFL Draft forever after 750,000 people were there for the event! The guys talk about the San Francisco 49ers, why the Atlanta Falcons drafted quarterback Michael Penix at number eight and if the Giants should have addressed the quarterback position at some point. Then it’s into the teams that killed it. The teams that not only knocked it out of the park in Round 1, but in the later rounds as well. Let us know who YOU think did the best job on draft day. After that, the guys get into how any of this impact betting markets like 2024 NFL win totals or futures. With the NBA and NHL Playoffs in full swing, the guys talk about which league has the better playoffs and how the futures boards are shaking up in either league. All that and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle!
We’re going 2024 NFL Draft heavy this week and we’ve enlisted the help of 2003 Mr. Irrelevant Ryan Hoag to talk about all things Draft Day. Ryan breaks down what this time of year is like from a payer’s perspective: the physical toll of trying to trim down a 40 time or the mental stress it can have when waiting for your name to be called. With so much talk about the big three wide receivers in this year’s draft, and as a former receiver himself, Ryan talks about what each of Marvin Harrison Jr, Rome Odunze and Malik Nabors can offer an NFL franchise on Sundays and who is going to be the best one. Then, the guys get into some of the betting markets available for the NFL Draft, including OVER or UNDER 6.5 wide receivers to go in the first round, first defensive player to be selected, Brock Bowers OVER or UNDER 12.5 draft position and much, much more. All that and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle!
On this week’s show, Tony and Ninja explain why and how betting on the NBA and NHL playoffs can be different from betting regular season games. Before digging into what the playoffs have in store, the guys talk about another watershed moment for women’s sports: the WNBA Draft. It was another insane ratings boon for the league and the women’s game in general. Next up, Tony loves his NHL betting and explains a few things you should be paying attention to when digging into NHL Playoffs matchups and series. He even breaks down his candidate to be this season’s dark horse pick much like the Florida Panthers were last season. To follow up, Ninja does the same thing with NBA. There are definitely some elements to be mindful of when capping basketball games comes playoff time. And after that, Ninj breaks down a couple series price markets that he loves. Lastly, the guys dig into the NFL draft. Tony breaks down his top 10 mock draft as well as a trio of picks that he thinks are worth hopping on sooner rather than later! All that and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle!
Ninja and Tony sit down with former Oakland A’s pitcher Andrew Carignan to talk about the alarming rise of pitcher injuries and much more on this week’s episode of The Huddle! But up first, the fellas talk about the NCAA Tournament and whether or not we will ever see a sure-fire bet like UConn. And since Andrew is from Connecticut but went to North Carolina, where are his college basketball allegiances? The guys then dig into some Major League Baseball news items and at the forefront is the pitcher injuries we’re seeing. Andrew shares his thoughts on why we now seeing endemic-levels of arm injuries and why they are rising at an alarming rate. Since he played within the Oakland A’s system, we had to ask him about the current state of the A’s and what that three-year window of baseball will look like when they play in Sacramento. We close with a little football and since Andrew is a New England Patriots fan, what better way to talk a little NFL than with some prognostication on whether or not the Pats will hit the OVER or UNDER on their paltry 4.5 win total in 2024. All that and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle!
The NCAA Final Four is set and Ninja and Tony dig into the games and break down a few of their bets for each. With UConn squaring off against Alabama and Purdue matchup up with North Carolina State, we’ve got two semifinal games that have big spreads. Tony and Ninja discuss the games, the lines, their early picks and the hypothetical situations that could arise in the final. Elsewhere, we’ve gotta talk about the women’s game with all the hype coming out of the Iowa vs LSU Elite Eight game on Monday. It was the most-watched and most-bet women’s basketball game of all time as the Caitlin Clark hype train keeps on chugging as the Hawkeyes meet UConn later this week. It’s early days in the MLB season but there are some betting trends, teams and players to pay attention to and Ninja and Tony break them all down. Lastly, NFL win totals were posted by some books earlier this week and Ninja puts Tony to the test about some interesting teams and numbers that are available. This of course was recorded before the Stefon Diggs trade to the Houston Texans, which obviously has huge significance for both teams. All that and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle!
As March Madness ramps up, it’s MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani and NBA rotation guy Jontay Porter that own the headlines this week. The Los Angeles Dodgers’ $700 million dollar man has been mired in controversy all week as $4.5 million dollars was wired from his bank account to an illegal sports book and it turns out that his translator, Ippei Mizuara was responsible. Or was he? Meanwhile, Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter is being investigated at the center of some betting irregularities over his player prop markets. Ninja and Tony attempt to make sense of everything going on with Shohei and Porter and what it means moving forward. The Sweet 16 is ramping up with games starting back up later this week. The guys revisit their busted brackets and break down what they expect the Final Four too look like when the dust settles on Sunday. Elsewhere in the NCAA Tournament, the guys look at the MOP futures board and where the value lies compared to where their school lies in outright markets; they take a quick glance at the Sweet 16 matchups and identify their favorite games; and they break down whether it’s better for the tournament if there is a chalky group, as there is going into the Sweet 16, or if it’s better to have a Cinderella team. It’s MLB (real) Opening Day on Thursday, so the guys talk about some of the better betting strategies for newcomers to baseball betting and look at some exact World Series matchups that they like going into the regular season! Finally, the guys talk about the new rule changes that will be implemented in the 2024 NFL regular season including a ban on a specific tackle and a new format to kickoffs. All this and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle!
March Madness finally upon us, we’ve brought out in our dear friend Iain MacMillan to chop it up about all things March Madness! Up first though, the guys break down where exactly March Madness ranks on their sports hierarchy and break down their favorite events from the sports betting calendar. One thing bettors should pay attention to if they love any specific team to go all the way and win the national championship is the rollover method. Tony breaks down the ins and out of this potentially lucrative betting strategy and we all bring our favorite candidates to the table. Next up, we dissect our brackets, our final four candidates, who we can see winning the whole thing and where there is potentially some upset money to be made.We also take a look at some futures markets and break down some worthwhile candidates from Sweet 16, Elite Eight an Final Four futures markets. You want picks? We got picks. We break down our two favorite Round of 64 bets each and explain why they are worth tailing. Or fading. It’s a free country. You do you. Lastly, with Iain on the show, we HAVE to talk about the Atlanta Falcons and their offseason. The future is looking bright for Iain’s team after nabbing Kirk Cousins and we’ll get a tempaerture check on his thoughts and their value in NFC South futures markets. All that and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle! Check out all of the latest March Madness content at: https://www.oddsshark.com/ncaab
It’s been a busy week already in the sports betting world with NFL free agency starting and the announcement of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson. Up first though, is RFK Jr claiming that he’s prepared to add Aaron Rodgers to his 2024 presidential ticket. Which is weird, of course, but Tony breaks down a couple athletes that he’d be more than happy to be his running mate. NFL free agency has started with an absolute bang with some big names changing teams. Kirk Cousins, Derrick Henry, Russell Wilson, Saquon Barkley and a TON of other players now have new digs. But who are the winners and losers? Who are we buying and selling? And who has positioned themselves as teams that could very well be sneaky-good next season? We break it all down. Tony digs into the Power 5 conference tournaments and dissects the faves and some of the other teams a bit further down the odds board and also educates newcomers to March Madness about what goes into making a good bracket. Whether you’re a first timer or you will a bracket out for the office pool but don’t really know what you’re doing, Tony’s got you covered with some tips and tricks. The latest bout in celebrity boxing is known as Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have set a date for their “fight” in Arlington, Texas. Tony and Ninja break down whether or not they will be watching it, betting on it and what their thoughts are on the legitimacy of the whole thing. Finally, Ninja takes a quick peek into the Premier League weekend with some betting tips, even though six games are postponed due to the FA Cup. All that and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle!
As March Madness creeps up, Tony and Ninja use today’s show to get some Major League Baseball awards markets, some teams that could start red-hot and ice-cold in the 2024 season and much more. Firstly, the guys chop it up about MLB 2024 awards betting markets and break down some candidates for MVP, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year and even some manager of the year markets! We all remember fondly blindly backing the Tampa Bay Rays and blindly fading the Oakland A’s at the beginning of last season, so the guys talk about some teams that might fill those roles for the first month of the 2024 baseball season. There were some big storylines in the NFL this past week with Russell Wilson being cut and Jason Kelce retiring. With that in mind, the guys break down some landing spots for Russ and talk about some of the best brother combinations in sports. Elsewhere this week, Tony talks about a couple of college basketball teams that bettors should look at when betting conference tournaments. It’s also Oscar season and while the odds board is dominated by Oppenheimer, Ninja breaks down a couple spots that could provide some betting value. And of course we’ve got a bunch of picks across the NHL, college basketball, the NBA and Premier League. All that and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle
2024 MLB regular season win totals have hit the board and we break some of the league’s most popular teams and give out our four best bets. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg on episode 23 of The Huddle. First thing’s first: has Tony Farmer actually become the internet’s best soccer handicapper? He is the only one that has gone undefeated, that much we know for sure. Tony breaks down his process for making his first Premier League bet last week and HITTING it as Everton covered the +0.5, making him a Toffees fan for life. While Tony has indeed pivoted to college basketball, he breaks down three “middle of the road” picks that could make a lot of noise by the time March Madness roles around and discusses some of the news and notes from around the college basketball landscape, like what to do about the court-storming chaos. The NFL season might be finished, but the guys still talk a little NFL as the Chicago Bears remain in the news as they hold a ton of power in the upcoming NFL draft. The guys also discuss some potential candidates to be the official “2024 Team of The Huddle” as the Houston Texans were this past season. Finally, the guys get into a little bit of a 2024 MLB mini preview as they talk about the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays and San Diego Padres and where they could end up as a couple of rosters that have seen turnaround, some lofty expectations and some failed expectations over the past few seasons. Lastly, the guys hand out their favorite OVERs and UNDERs from the 2024 MLB regular season win totals markets and each break down a play from the Premier League, where Tony looks to continue his unbeaten start to life and s Premier League bettor. All that and more on this week’s episode of The Huddle
It's a bit of a dead zone this week in sports as we wind down from NBA All-Star weekend, and start looking at March Madness. The Madness is right around the corner and there are three teams, which right now offer tremendous value, Tony is on them, are you going to tail? These aren't just some random dart throws, check out the breakdown and see why a little dabble now could help you down the line. In what can only be described as a sign of the apocalypse, Tony is capping and making his first soccer bet! Ninja has been on him for a while now about  making this happen, and Tony is up to the challenge. Don't hate on Tony for his usage of some soccer terms as he breaks down the English Premier League. To quote George Costanza "oh Tony don't!" NFL free agency and draft coverage will also ramp up in a few weeks, but for now, enjoy Tony Farmer!
The dust has settled on Super Bowl LVIII and Tony is back in Texas for this week’s episode of The Huddle. On today’s show, the guys pick up the pieces from a devastating San Francisco 49ers loss and talk about Tony’s experience at Allegiant Stadum and whether or not he’d do it again. But really, was this all Tony’s fault? Ninja has to ask the question as Tony has been on a “hate fest” of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce AND Taylor Swift all season long. Maybe this is all just karma? The fact of the matter is that Mahomes has entrenched himself into the GOAT QB debate and Tony breaks down his current top four of all time list. The guys also take a look at the Super Bowl 59 odds board to see if there is any value as it is never too early to bet on futures. But now that all football is over for the next while, the questions remains: what do we bet on next? Tony talks about what he does not to pivot to college basketball and the NHL now that the NFL does not have his undividied attention. If you’ve been with Odds Shark for a while, you know Ninja is a massive Premier League fan. With that in mind, he breaks down the top three things to know if NFL bettors are looking to get into Premier League betting but haven’t been really paying attention. Last but certainly not least, it’s Daytona 500 week and Tony talks about things to keep in mind when capping the race as Daytona can be a different beast than most other tracks on the NASCAR circuit. All this and more on episode 21 of The Huddle
We are just a couple of days away from kickoff in Super Bowl LVIII as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs and the guys use their final episode of the NFL season to talk all about it. Tony talks about the current state of the point spread and the total and why we haven’t seen any movement off 47.5 despite most of the money coming in on the OVER, as so often is the case. Also, it’s been fairly quiet on the injuries front for the San Francisco 49ers, but it’s mildly different for the Chiefs with a couple players on the shelf. Tony breaks it all down. The guys share their favorite Super Bowl bets as Tony breaks down four and Ninja has three in an effort to finish off the season strong! Elsewhere, the guys break down their favorite Super Bowl memories from down the years and talk about their favorite Super Bowl commercials, which doesn’t go too far beyond beer ads to be honest. And in a callous act of revenge, Tony has put together the most difficult 10 rounds of Super Bowl Trivia you could ever see! All that and more on episode 20 of The Huddle!
The San Francisco 49ers sit as slight favorites over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII and Ninja, Tony and special guest Ryan Hoag talk all about it on this week’s episode of The Huddle. The guys break down the crazy line movement we’ve seen since odds were hung late Sunday night and Ryan breaks down exactly why he thinks the number is where it is.Ryan also discusses fellow Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy and why the Niners QB is so polarizing among NFL fans. The guys dig into Super Bowl MVP markets and whether or not it’s a disservice that Purdy is second on the odds board behind Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes despite his team being the betting favorite. In a Huddle EXCLUSIVE, our very own Tony Farmer might actually be attending the game on Super Bowl Sunday! He talks through his plan with the guys but the conversation quickly dissolves into why Ninja would be a terrible person to watch a game with and why Tony has the craziest roster of Super Bowl snacks.’ There is a case to be made that Patrick Mahomes is on his way to becoming the GOAT NFL quarterback. The guys compare his stats with Tom Brady through their opening six seasons as a starting quarterback in this league it’s starting to stack up pretty favorably for Mahomes. Next, the guys dig into the matchups on the field for Super Bowl LVIII and break down where the game could be won and lost. They talk quarterbacks, the head coaching work between Kyle Shanahan and Andy Reid, the battles in the trenches, Christian McCaffrey vs the Chiefs running defense and the 49ers defensive backs versus the Chiefs wide receivers. Lastly, Ninja breaks down some Super Bowl trivia for the guys and tabs Ryan as the favorite with Tony as the dogs. 10 questions to show who’s boss! All this and more on the first of two jam-packed Super Bowl betting shows on The Huddle!
We are down to the final four in the NFL postseason as the Kansas City Chiefs face the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship and the San Francisco 49ers host the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship. Today on The Huddle, the guys break down their six favorite picks from this weekend’s pair of games as they look to get back on track from a rough 1-5 record in the Divisional Round. Speaking of the Divisional Round, the guys start the episode looking back at an absolutely wild weekend filled with upsets, near-upsets, absolute beatdowns and the expected: the Kansas City Chiefs defeating Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. Ninja is still absolutely reeling from one of the toughest bad beats in all of the NFL this season after James Cook had his OVER 62.5 rushing yards beat going into the fourth quarter, but then losing it all and selling the bag in the fourth as he rushed for -6 in the final 15 minutes. Then, the fellas rhyme off some of their favorite sports conspiracies after talking about the NFL script writers making an appearance once again of the weekend. Before getting into our best bets, Tony breaks down what he sees in both conference championship games and whether or not the weather is going to play a factor, or how deep you should look into refereeing data as there is some “controversy” around the NFL’s choice to officiate the Chiefs-Ravens game, and if the 49ers should get an extra home field advantage considering the Lions don’t really play outdoors that much. Finally, the fellas look to bounce back from a 1-5 show last week with their six favorite bets. Tony handles teasers, sides and totals while Ninja is all about player props this week.
We have our four NFL Divisional Round matchups set and we could be in store for a fantastic weekend. Before you bet, make sure you check out what Ninja and Tony have to say and stay tuned for their picks as they have been on a sensational streak with their capping as they’ve gone 16-7-1 over the last four episodes. But to get things started, Ninja offers up a sincere apology to the Green Bay Packers fans and organization after being fully convinced that the Dallas Cowboys would get the easy dub during the Wild Card round. And speaking of them Cowboys, what actually happened last weekend? How could a team so good and with such an efficient offense at home lay an absolute egg against the Pack? Tony shares his thoughts. It was a banner weekend for the Detroit Lions as they picked up their first playoff dub since 1992. And with that in mind, Tony takes some time to absolutely flame the Staffords. We all know the Houston Texans are the official “Team of The Huddle”, so the guys break down their impressive performance against the Cleveland Browns and ask the question: who is America’s team between the Lions and Texans. While looking ahead, Tony breaks down the San Francisco 49ers path to the Super Bowl and discusses who the best quarterback to start a franchise would be between CJ Stroud, Brock Purdy or Jordan Love. Lastly, the fellas have unearthed six free picks for you to tail (or fade, you do you) for the weekend ahead with sides, totals, props and more! All that and much more on the NFL Playoff Divisional Round Weekend episode of The Huddle!
The NFL Playoffs are finally here and we’re dedicating our entire show the magic of Wild Card Weekend! Tony and Ninja break down everything you need to know to get you ready for the weekend and ready to win some bets! The NFL postseason is a different beast and there is a different approach to handicapping. Tony breaks down some tips about how to approach an NFL game before making your bet. There are a clear top two in terms of the playoff teams left standing, but there is a massive cluster of Super Bowl contenders after that. Tony and Andrew break down their top five as we enter the first playoff weekend. One thing to always keep in mind when we get this deep into the season is the health of some key football players. Tony has a list of players that you should be keeping an eye on as the week plays out so make sure you pay attention to what the beat writers are seeing at practices. If you don’t believe in the NFL scriptwriter conspiracy theory, then some of these Wild Card matchups should convince you. Ninja and Tony break down some of the narratives that we already have in these games and where the scriptwriters might just take us next. The MVP odds board is very intriguing with the usual suspects at the top. But what about further down the board? There is a ton of value is some very good skill position players. With the end of the regular season comes the insane coaching carousel and one firing in particular has got both the guys TRIGGERED. But Tony has some hiring ideas for all vacancies that we’ve got so far. And where would we be without picks? The guys enter the NFL Playoffs on a pretty good tear going 12-5-1 over the last three episodes of The Huddle. Ninja and Tony have six more lined up for you. All that and much more on the NFL Wild Card Weekend episode of The Huddle!
