Thank you for tuning in to the second episode of Creative Industry Radio with my guest Dennis Dunbar 🎙🎧 Dennis Dunbar is a retouching OG that started working in the retouching business in 1991 - I guess that was about the time that I played my first Game Boy ;-) Dennis started as a photo assistant, worked as a photographer himself and got completely fascinated by retouching and made the transition to become a retouching professional. Dennis is also driven by making people better in retouching and sharing his enormous knowledge, he is a book author and writes articles on retouching on various platforms. 🎙️ Welcome to this episode of Creative Industry Radio - my guest today is Billy Arora 🎙️ Billy is an international fashion model and has been featured in publications like #Vogue, #Grazia and #L’Officiel and worked for luxury brands like #Hermès and #YvesSaintLaurent. She is represented by top agencies like #ELITE, #Ford, and #IMG. Beyond her modelling career, Billy has been well noticed for her education holistic nutrition and in herbalism and she started her own fashion brand #Centiments, where she incorporated literature and fashion. We recently got to work together for a Vogue Magazine Cover Story and now we sat down to unfold her remarkable career to the creative family and share some inspiration. In this conversation, we took a deep dive how Billy started out in the industry and how a Sephora campaign kicked off her international career in New York. We speak about Billys mom, also a successful model herself and how she became Billys mentor. Billy was open to talk about how it can be very hard to deal with expectations, feelings, self esteem and confidence in the industry and that models can be under insane judgements by model agencies. As we were talking about mental health, Billy openly talked about burn out and how surrendering to the circumstances and accepting and being honest with people got Billy out of this loop. Finally we have an honest discussion about social media, it’s benefits and risks, we talk about absurd face filters and how too little media competence can bring unwanted noise into your life. Hey you, welcome to the show! Today I would like you to meet Joanne O’Neill. She is a very experienced and award winning avant garde hairdresser who started her professional career in 1987. Today she works for numerous productions, rund her own salon and gives masterclasses to teach her art to the next generations of hair dressers. Another big topic is the energy of working with a large professional team on set – which is exactly what we experienced when we met through working together on a very large project in Sicily, Italy. Last April we have been touring through Sicily for 14 days with a crew of 30 people that MOJA had gathered around him to make this project become reality. Welcome tor the next episode of Creative Industry Radio! I couldn’t be more excited to have Jeannette Bohné on the pod.
