In this episode I talk about a less-discussed form of grief – the kind that quietly accompanies personal growth and change. From the shedding of past identities to the unexpected grief of potential, I share my own experiences and reflections, including the emotional complexities of aging and evolving relationships.  If you're feeling an ache for something, or someone you've outgrown, could it be that what you're really feeling is grief? Rather than bypassing the discomfort, this episode encourages gentle awareness, emotional honesty, and honoring grief as a companion on the path to self-trust and wholeness.  In this episode you will learn: Why grief isn't just about death and what else it can stem from What makes personal growth so emotionally complex How aging can bring unexpected grief Why changes in relationships can trigger grief, even healthy or necessary shifts What makes the grief of potential so painful How avoiding grief can hinder growth What healthy grieving can look like and why honoring grief matters  - Is there a part of your life you're grieving right now that deserves to be acknowledged? Have you ever given or received advice, only to realise it didn't land the way you hoped? This week I explore the common (and sometimes uncomfortable) experience of unsolicited advice—when someone offers suggestions or solutions without being asked. I reflect on how this type of advice, even when well-intentioned, can feel dismissive, create disconnection, and even lead to codependency. Support doesn't always mean solving. Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can offer is our full, caring attention. In this episode you will learn: Why unsolicited advice can feel invalidating or emotionally disconnecting What some of the internal motivators are behind giving advice The importance of presence and co-regulation over rushing to fix someone's feelings Helpful alternatives to unsolicited advice Reflective journal prompts to consider - How do you feel when someone gives you unsolicited advice? This week I unpack the concept of "the healing trap"—a state many fall into when the pursuit of growth, healing, and self-improvement becomes an endless cycle. While personal development can be empowering, and it is one of my core values, it can also become a subtle form of self-rejection if it's driven by the belief that we are never "enough" as we are.  In this episode I explore the signs that you may be stuck in this cycle, the deeper fears and needs that drive it, and how to reconnect with presence, rest, and self-acceptance.  In this episode you will learn: What the "healing trap" is and how it can masquerade as personal growth How constant self-improvement can become a disguised form of self-rejection Common signs you're stuck in the healing trap and the deeper drivers behind this pattern Why presence, rest, and play are essential parts of growth How to hold space for both intentional healing and simply being Practical ways to step back from the healing hamster wheel and tune into your body's wisdom - How will you start noticing when your pursuit of growth is coming from self-love—and when it might be slipping into the healing trap? Have you ever looked back at a version of yourself and thought, "What was I thinking?" Or carried guilt for a choice you made when you didn't yet know how to choose differently? If so, this week's episode on the transformative process of self-forgiveness, is for you. Through a vulnerable personal story and reflections from my coaching community, I explore what it truly means to forgive ourselves—not to excuse or erase the past, but to meet it with compassion and reclaim your worth. I also share a powerful, step-by-step process for self-forgiveness, offering a supportive guide for anyone holding onto shame, regret, or self-judgment. This episode is a gentle invitation to shift from punishment to healing, and to move forward with grace. In this episode you will learn: Why it's so hard to follow our "higher self"—and how fear and people-pleasing often get in the way The difference between excusing the past and genuinely forgiving yourself A six-step process to move through self-forgiveness with intention and care How to integrate lessons from the past without living in shame Why self-forgiveness is essential for healing, growth, and living a life aligned with your true self - How might you choose to forgive and move forward? In this reflective and personal episode, I share a powerful insight that emerged during my weekly guided meditation and journaling group, Curious Minds, in Mount Maunganui. As the group grows and flourishes, I have been facing an internal resistance — the sneaky, familiar voice that whispers, "This is too good to be true." Do you ever find yourself thinking that? I explore the roots of this mindset, how it shows up in different areas of my life, and why many of us struggle to feel safe in moments of success and joy. I also offer gentle, grounded strategies to help you expand your capacity for joy without self-sabotage. In this episode you will learn: What the "too good to be true" mindset is and how it might be showing up in your own life Why success and happiness can sometimes feel unsafe or unfamiliar How protective pessimism can rob you of presence and peace The connection between fear of loss, control, and self-sabotage Practical ways to create space between your thoughts and your truth How to gently rewire your brain with more supportive, regulating thoughts The importance of building your capacity to hold joy — and why it's a practice Insights from the Curious Minds group and the value of community reflection - What stood out the most for you in this episode? Sparked by a message from a participant in my coaching program—"I feel like I know my authentic self, but I can't be her"—this episode explores why being true to ourselves can feel so hard, especially when fear and the desire to belong get in the way. I also share my own reflections, including the moment I realised that being liked by everyone was no longer worth the cost of self-abandonment.  From navigating rejection to celebrating small moments of alignment, this episode is a reminder that authenticity is not about being fixed or perfect, but about honoring who you are in the present—and having the courage to live that truth out loud. In this episode you will learn: Why knowing your authentic self isn't always enough and what gets in the way of expressing it The emotional cost of authenticity, and why not being liked by everyone is part of the deal The difference between seeking approval vs. cultivating inner alignment How to celebrate small moments of authenticity and build trust in yourself Why authenticity is fluid and ever-changing, not a fixed identity How to magnetise the right people—even if it means repelling others - How did you show up authentically today and how did that make you feel? This week is all about failure — what it truly means, why we fear it, and how shifting our perspective can transform setbacks into powerful tools for growth. Throughout the episode I share some personal stories of career, financial, and relationship struggles to highlight that failure is not a reflection of who we are, but rather a natural part of the journey toward success.  Whether you're navigating a business setback, personal challenge, or simply afraid to take the next step, what I talk about today will help you reframe failure as a sign you're trying, not that you're falling behind. In this episode you will learn: Why failure is not an identity or reflection of your worth Where the fear of failure often stems from What valuable lessons you can learn by embracing failure How to separate your self-worth from external outcomes The importance of approaching failure with curiosity and compassion How you can reduce fear and create more freedom to pursue your dreams - How are you going to embrace failure? In this week's rerun episode I talk about letting go of other people's opinions. Caring about what others think is a natural part of being human, but I've learned to care a lot less than I used to. It's not about flipping off everyone else's opinions and solely focusing on yourself, I'm suggesting something different. It's about shifting the importance we give to others' opinions and prioritising our own self-perception.  Your opinion of yourself matters the most because you're the one living your life, nobody else. So, in this episode I am going to share a handful of things you can start doing to begin letting go of the fear of judgement from others.  You will learn about: Why other people's opinions have NOTHING to do with you What the 'spotlight theory' is and how it can transform your confidence The reason embarrassing situations are "embarrassing" What other people's opinions are a projection of How to show up authentically and prioritise your opinion How you can truly break free from seeking approval and attract the right people into your life - If you are regularly tuning into the podcast and getting value from it, you can rate the show on Spotify or leave a review on Apple Podcasts.
