How do you actually “feel” your feelings? This was a question that a friend of mine recently asked me, and a topic that I am also really passionate about – so I thought it would be great to dive in deeper with you and talk about some powerful tools that I have found incredibly helpful in my life when it comes to feelings and emotions.  If you are someone that selectively tries to numb your emotions, or you’re having a hard time processing them, this episode will give you some great insights as well as a framework that will support you in understanding and managing whatever is coming up for you. You will learn about: The difference between feelings and emotions What emotional frequencies are and how you may feel them in your body How emotions can validate your experiences Tara Brach’s ‘RAIN’ model – a framework for understanding and managing emotions The physiological purpose of crying Why it’s important to be mindful of your emotional limits I would love to know what your key takeaways were from this episode. Do you care what other people think about you? Let's be real, caring about what others think is a natural part of being human. But here's the thing: I've learned to care a lot less than I used to. It’s not about flipping off everyone else's opinions and solely focusing on yourself, I'm suggesting something different. It's about shifting the importance we give to others' opinions and prioritising our own self-perception. Your opinion of yourself matters the most because you're the one living your life, nobody else. So, in this episode I am going to share a handful of things you can start doing to begin letting go of the fear of judgement from others.  You will learn about:  Why other people’s opinions have NOTHING to do with you What the ‘spotlight theory’ is and how it can transform your confidence The reason embarrassing situations are “embarrassing” What other people’s opinions are a projection of How to show up authentically and prioritise YOUR opinion How you can truly break free from seeking approval and attract the right people into your life If you are wondering “how am I able to know what’s important to me, how am I able to willingly sit with these uncomfortable feelings, how can I integrate not caring what other people think of me” – let’s have a conversation. This episode was inspired by a recent experience I had at a breathwork workshop in Raglan. Throughout the breathing journey I got really emotional. My body wanted to release and cry and shake and hum and it was a lot, but I felt safe and I stayed connected to my higher self throughout. She was there with me from the very beginning. I could hear her say, “let it out, let it go,” without feeling embarrassed about it or like I was being judged. It reminded me that when we can connect to our higher self, that wise inner knowing, we are able to access qualities such as compassion. So I thought I would share more about higher self today, and how you can connect with yours to reach your highest potential. You will learn about: What ‘higher self’ actually is and why it’s so important Ways to access your higher selves wisdom How your higher self can guide you through difficult times Simple methods you can use to connect with your higher self daily How you can start closing the gap between where you are and where you want to be   Do you want to connect more deeply with your higher self? From facing life-altering decisions to navigating daily challenges, in this week's episode I explore the power of our thoughts and how they shape our experiences. In particular, I am focusing on the world of cognitive distortions, uncovering the unhelpful thinking styles that hold us back from reaching our full potential.  By recognising these distortions, such as all-or-nothing thinking, overgeneralization, and personalisation, we learn to take responsibility for our lives and choose different thoughts that lead to positive change.  I am sure you will resonate with at least one or two of these cognitive distortions. This episode will validate your experiences, whilst also enabling you to unlock the tools to become your best self.   You will learn about: What cognitive distortions are How your thoughts impact your feelings, actions, and results Common cognitive distortions that may be holding you back from personal growth and happiness Strategies for acknowledging and validating negative thought patterns How to start overcoming cognitive distortions I would love to know what your key takeaways were from this episode, or if you have any ideas for future episodes. WOW what a weekend! I took a break from the podcast last week as I really wanted time to reflect on the recent retreat that I ran at Ridge Top Farm in the North Island of New Zealand. Part of that reflection process was jumping on the mic to say it all out loud and share it with you. So, a week and a bit later, here it is. In this episode I take you behind the scenes of the retreat, highlighting the profound impact the whole experience had on me – from arranging it and the challenges I faced, to being on it and watching the amazing women that attended build genuine connections, to my feelings afterwards and the new principles that I wish to adapt.  I also talk you through the workshops and activities we did on the retreat, as well as the incredible food that was provided for us!
